It took them a day to notice. A day to notice you were gone, a day to notice that a chair was missing from the dining room table. A day to notice a bundle of rope was missing from the training supply closet, a day to notice your door was locked and wouldn’t budge.
That day was normal for them. Just laughing and talking as usual. Jay and Cole played prime empire together, Lloyd was trying to keep up with the chores, kai, Zane, and pixal were all on a mission together.
A day.
You sat in your room considering it for an entire day. When nobody came to check in 12 hours, the choice was made.
Lloyd found you first. He screamed and cut you down, desperately trying to make sure you were alive.
Cole and Jay rushed in next, controllers forgotten on the living room floor as you lie there in Lloyd’s arms.

In your absence, Lloyd cried for days. He was so sure it was his fault, in part it was. He never checked on you, never asked if you were alright. He should’ve known.
Cole was shocked, training hard enough to hurt himself all hours of the day. He wished he knew, wished he could’ve lifted the burdens off your shoulders and held you.
Jay was absent. Nobody knew where he went. He didn’t take anything with him. He was being selfish.
Nya was terrified. Terrified she let you go and terrified for Jay. More worried about Jay than she ever was for you.
Zane turned his emotions off and pixal did the same. They couldn’t process it anymore. They didn’t need to feel the hurt.
Kai was.. dealing with it. He was coping with it better than anyone else. It surprised them all. It surprised them more when they found Kai sitting on a dock by the sea, ready to slip in and sink under.
If only the could’ve stopped you, noticed the signs before it was too late. You tried to tell them, you did.
“Jay, can we- can we talk please?” You were shivering that night when you tried to reach out. “Not now, sorry man.” He wasn’t do anything, just training with cole. Coke just shot you a sympathetic smile and you moved on.
You looked all over for kai or Zane, even pixal, never finding them in the monastery. Your last option was Lloyd or Nya. Lloyd would be so worried about your scars and stress you out more. Nya was busy fixing something that Jay broke, brushing you off as you desperately reached out.
The rope was the last sign. Cole and Jay saw you take it inside, never asking about it.
You didn’t write a note, you didn’t need to. they knew why you did it anyways.
