âOh my god, of course,â Sloane replied at Dylanâs comments. âI mean, I literally wouldnât be able to live if it werenât for coffee. No lie,â she said. As Sloane settled into her seat, she knew for a fact that she was probably going to hear that Dylan had skipped class, missed work, or both. Somehow, it seemed like the girl was always most talented at doing any of the following. It almost made her wonder how Dylan still managed to be in school, but hearing that Dylan had hitched a ride to visit her girlfriend, Sloane couldnât help but have moon eyes at the story, instinctively placing both elbows on the table and putting both hands under her chin. âThat is so sweet, I really hope I get to meet your girlfriend one day, whatâs her name? LJ?â Sloane asked for clarification, but then the following sentences came about how Dylan missed her morning classes and had an essay due in just a few mere hours. âYou guys are literally so sweet,â she stuck her bottom lip out before returning to what was more important in her eyes. âI wonât keep you long then, you need to get better about that kind of stuff,â Sloane stated, talking about the essay. âWhat class is it for?â She asked with a brow raise; the Porter was not someone who encouraged cheating or having extra âhelpâ, but she would also do anything to watch her sisters graduate from college on time. âBecause Iâm sure someoneâs taken the class and can help with it.â

Talking about LJ was the easiest thing in the world to Dylan. Sheâd always been a girl defined by her relationships and while most people saw that as a drawback, her rose colored glasses kept her naive to those opinions. âOh my gosh, youâll totally meet her soon,â Dyl promised, all bright eyed and rosy cheeked as she began to dish about her girlfriend, âand yes, her name is actually Lennon but she goes by LJ.â All of this information probably didnât matter to Sloane, but once Dylan got started talking about her relationship, it was hard to get her to stop. âThank you, itâs really all her. Sheâs the greatest,â she said giddily, unable to hide her sappy smile at the thought of LJ. When Sloane lectured her about better study habits, Dylan dropped her head into her hands and let out a sigh. âUgh, I know,â she groaned, âI always do this. Lemon has been trying to train it out of me since high school, but Iâm like...a lost cause,â she said with a should slump. âItâs for my Undoing Gender class,â Dylan explained with another exasperated sigh, âitâs actually a really interesting class but like...I just struggle with getting all of my reading done.â Talking about school was boring and she knew Sloane of all people would exhaust all options to help, but that itâd probably be for nothing. âI wanna hear about you though,â she said, perking up slightly, âhow are you holding up with the break-up and stuff? Are you doing okay?âÂ
