Kris had such a horrible time this chapter. They third wheel the festival date, and while Susie and Noelle both say that they feel better with Kris around, they never express this to Kris. They're ridiculed for not being able to cast magic but flowers pretending to be humans who all share fragmented facets of their personality. Their father gets angry at them upon seeing them in a dark world and throws them out of the shop/fountain. He expresses the intent to kill whoever opened the fountain, blaming them for everything. They have to deal with Flowery. The knight then takes their father, a plan they no doubt had a part in, and murders flowery, who was starting to be tolerable. And at the end of the night, after everything, Kris walks Susie home as she tells them about how special their relationship is, only to tell them it can't be like that anymore, and she wants to include Noelle. She wants Noelle. Not Kris. And as Susie goes to Castle Town, setting up for Noelle's arrival with everyone, going home to a place of warmth and friendship, Kris can only turn away, alone again.
