Ana’s eyes lit up at Cody’s generosity, even though she’d originally saved the cupcake for him —- the gesture back to her, made her smile widen. “You’re too cute, you know that?” She swiped up a bit of frosting on her finger and brought it to her lips. “So, hey… can I ask you a question, uhh… about your sister?” Ana was a nosy girl, quiet and insecure most of them time, but she had a habit of getting too curious. In this instance, it was her brother’s love life she was really prying into.
A series of weird feelings began to stir in Cody’s gut at Ana’s comment about his “cuteness”. Why the heck girls always had to make things weird, the ghost boy would never know.
Taking a bite from his cupcake, Cody closed his eyes in a moment of contentment. Baked goods had to be his favorite source of food. Of those items, cupcakes topped the list of things he always wanted to eat. Luckily being dead had its perks, and he didn’t have to worry about a balanced meal.
Taking another bite from his cupcake, he cocked his head at Ana’s question. “What about her?” Cody asked, the words altogether muffled by the amount of cake in his mouth.
