And that thought stays with Rielle. Even when he's surrounded by all the other merchildren and sees Azul with Jade and Floyd. Rielle can't help but be taken by Azul's beauty. Every time he sees his classmate, sees him smile or smirk, sees him laugh or even cry. Sees his gaze light up in pride at something he's accomplished. All Rielle can do is just be awed by him. Like the ocean waves being drawn to the beach, his eyes always land on Azul. But before he can really truly interact with him, he gets his acceptance letter to Royal Sword Academy. Soon swept away to land, despite his family's uproar over the whole thing he goes. Called to the land above. A few years pass, Rielle makes friends with the prince Minajael, and experiences life above the waves. Feeling the sun on his skin, and on the rare occurrence when he sees something on land he thinks about Azul. And his chest does something funny, something that he's not sure what to call.

Something that he might be too afraid to name. That he can forget, until the tournament happens. And he catches sight of another man, from Night Raven College. One with a familiar face and the most intelligent steel blue eyes he's ever seen. Like being greeted by the moonlight on the ocean's surface when he'd go swim up above. Rielle can't help but stare and then the man speaks, his voice smooth and melodic in a way that sinks into his skin. And it hits him who it is.

None other than Azul Ashengrotto.

And just as when he'd first seen him all those years ago, a familiar thought hits him.

'He's beautiful.....'

so, atleast from what i read, i dont fully understand swaps like.. role or importance to the story other then him being the beloved swap- can you explain maybe-- if you want-- how hes vital to the team? idk, im sorry, huuhuuu

He's the glue of the trio, I would say. He bridges the gap between Dream's hesitance to reach out and Ink's distance, and is a bright source of morales the team desperately needs. Dream especially relies very much on him for a warmth he rarely feels anywhere else.

Sometimes, though, complicated feelings can't help but seep in...
