I see Youth So differently Standing above them Like giants. But not that long ago I saw giants As a youth. I wondered. What's it like to be them? All grown up World at their fingertips. Free as a bird. No grown ups No rules No worries. Now I see, though My ideas were flawed. And it was I who was free. Free of worry. Free of stress. Free of pain And hate And sadness. Undrained. Happy. In the end It was I Who had what they sought after Just as they had What I. But only now do I see this In my twenty year wisdom. What will I see When I look back Twenty from now.

How could all those nights that meant everything to me mean so little to you. How did I get to this point. Trying to sob in my car but just getting enough tears to fill my eyes. Just seeing you. Just being next to you. My whole body tingled. I could feel my heartbeat speed up instantly. You're a hot mess but I liked it. And the things I didn't I would have learned to be with. I saved everything. Every cute snap. Every little note. All the things that told me you were in this as much as I was. The things that brought down my guard. I just got done giving them back to you. All the things in my house. Your blanket, your scarf. Your weed pouch and your stupid underwear. And all those pictures, the ones you hung on my wall. You can have them too. I just thought I had found you. And it turns out I was wrong.
