So I’m writing a Spongebob crossover fic.
Marine light began to brighten upon the green, one eyed imp and his computer counterpart as they gently whirred towards the ocean’s crystalline surface. “Heh heh heh!” He chuckled, rubbing his stubby hands together.
“Engaging h20-infused cranial housing.” A stretchy, metallic arm shoved a helmet down onto the little guy’s head.
“Oof!” His eye enlarged from the pressure. “Thanks, Karen!” He responded jovially, his eye going back to normal. “I’m just so darned excited, I almost forgot!” His attention went back to their destination above. He was literally and figuratively on the edge of his seat, atop pilot Karen, the computer, who was nonchalantly controlling the sea scooter.
They broke the water’s surface with a triumphant splash. “Woohoo, YES!” The little copilot cheered. “I can almost SMELL the genius from here. I can almost HEAR it! I can almost-“
“Aack!” A few beeps and boops interrupted. “I don’t know what you’re hearing, Plankton, but this elevation’s making my audio inputs pop.”
“Eh, you’ll get used to it,” Plankton shrugged, still atop Karen’s screen. “Or at least you’ll forget about it once we get to lay our eyes upon the true, awesome might of the technology of the land dwellers!”
Karen’s robotic arm extended a telescope to her passenger. “You know Plankton, I’m still a little surprised that you would go to such lengths to get help from a-“
“HELP?!” Plankton spat, “I don’t need help! When have I ever needed help from someone else?”
Karen rolled her emotive eyes.
“Ha!” Plankton sneered, giving his chin a thoughtful scratch. “It’s more like... forced assistance.” He followed the statement with another evil laugh, and then looked through the telescope again.
The computer sighed. “All I know is that I don’t know exactly where you’re going with this, and I’m almost afraid to ask.” She received the spyglass from her captain, and stowed it away. “Because if it’s anything like that mind-control business you tried with the SpongeBob-“
“Oh, stop being a wet electric blanket, Karen.” A map folded out in front of Plankton’s face. “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. Now go over the checklist while I find these coordinates.”
Karen halfheartedly began accessing a file. “Hopefully the plan doesn’t involve falling off that metaphorical bridge.” A bulleted list expanded down her screen. “All right, Captain Jack. Map?”
Plankton promptly erected the flag. “Check!”
“Che- ... Karen. This is serious.”
“Turn the coffee pot off before we left?”
