bill: bill loves the resident evil games, but he especially adores the seventh one. zombies are scary, but a family of zombies?? he has nightmares months after he finishes playing, and he loves it. he really likes the puzzles too. he gets bored pretty easily, so doing the same types of puzzles over and over in every game he plays really bores him. res 7 is really creative in that regard, and he enjoys that
mike: mike was never really into video games, because he doesnāt really like following plots. heās annoyed by the feeling that the game is pushing him in a certain direction. he feels like if a game is going to introduce him to a universe, they should let him be within the universe. heās also extremely empathetic, so even if he doesnāt have to violent, heās bothered if he feels like heās hurting someone. ac doesnāt have those issues, so he spends hours playing it
ben: ben is an old man trapped in a young manās body. he prefers books to technology, and heās very easily overstimulated by sounds and flashing lights. tetris is predictable enough that he feels like he can relax while playing it, but entertaining enough that he doesnāt get bored. his friends teased him about it a little bit when they found out, until he played bill and absolutely handed him his ass
eddie: eddie likes things that are organized. he likes systems. he likes routines. and most of all, he likes telling people what to do. these are all things that drew him to papers please. itās a pretty fast game, and he enjoys that. he loves zooming through all the tasks and grabbing things and reading things and stamping things in a few seconds and then immediately doing it again. playing papers please calms eddie down and helps him focus his racing mind
bev: the beginning of fran bow is bloody and violent and scary, but as you get deeper into the game, it becomes beautiful and weird and ethereal, and bev appreciates that versatility. fran starts out the game feeling crazy, but later finds out that she was just a little girl in an oppressive atmosphere. bev finds that very poignant, and she sees a lot of herself in fran
richie: richie is a naturally social person, and so of course his favorite game is multiplayer. he really enjoys playing with real living people, and he likes that itās new people every time. he loves feeling like heās working with a team to try to figure out who would dare kill one of their own. he also really loves being imposter, because it makes him feel powerful. heās a lil bit crazy. itās fine.
stan: subnautica is a visual game first and foremost, and it excels in visuals. itās such an aesthetically pleasing game, yet still has an intricate and thought-out plot. itās so obvious that the developers loved the game they were making and stan appreciates every tiny thing they put in to add to the experience. heās almost drowned a few times because heās gotten distracted by some underwater rock or plant or fish
