"Your aid was greatly appreciated. Though it may have felt we'd come up with nothing, that alone was still considered something," Casimir was also one who often forgot how to say thank you sometimes, the fast pace in which the world seemed to revolve around currently making time blur even for a dhampir. With the changeling's help, they hadn't exactly found anything tangible, which may seem like a failure, but they'd cut out plenty of areas where the ship was not and that alone brought Casimir closer. Hours too late, but still one of the first to discover the wreckage, their surveillance of the waters only helped him bring Juneau home that much sooner. "I don't like owing people, but I do owe you one; or you can name a price." The last part was dripping with sarcasm but Casimir wouldn't fault any thief if they indeed chose the latter after all.
âPlease,â he said, waving a hand like the entire ordeal had been little more than a morning jog. âI got a great tan and some serious flight endurance out of it. You donât owe me a thing.â
In the window nearby, Drystanâs reflection sharpenedâarms crossed, jaw tight, eyes already narrowed. Fiore didnât even look at him before shutting the other from the conversation.
Fioreâs grin returned easily as he looked back at Casimir. âBesides, I know youâd do the same if it were us. And if the day ever comes where I need my ass saved, I'll come knocking.â
His tone lightened even more as he added, âAnd Iâm not naming a price because if I do, Drystan might actually start keeping track. And no one wants that kind of audit.â
