God, she could cry. It takes everything in her not to the second Jewel touches her at all. This didn't feel like being delicately handled porcelain. This felt like the ruins of a volcanic eruption, cool breezes passing over the aftermath. Hardens and fixes her all at once. It was amazing how easy it was to be miserable up until she's viscerally reminded that someone does give a shit about her. Emily sighs and it's just a little more than a trembling sound, proof enough she's trying to breathe at least. A nod and she thinks she can finally get herself out of her head.

Response was instant and smile was wide, Jewel just joyous that Emily was wanting to keep herself distracted and get on top of everything going on inside her mind at the moment. "My family used to live near this sweet little Italian granny and whenever the family came over, she'd have enough leftovers to feed a small village and then some. It was divine and the best thing to have whenever we got sick. With how much time my brother spent in the ocean, it was often enough for him." There was a small laughter at the thought, an attempt to keep Emily distracted. "There any history behind your recipe?"

               Emma had to stop herself from sarcastically placing her hand on heart and pouting. "You really think you're cutting deep with that shit? Zero points for creativity." Eyes were then rolled as teeth were subtly bared. "Don't quit your day job."
