Just realised I never shared this here!

I made this crochet bead snake from a pattern using the book in pic 4. It comes from an extant example from circa 1918. These necklaces were made by World War 1 prisoners of war and became popular in the 19teens and 1920s.

It's made up of around 3000 glass beads that had to be strung onto the crochet thread in the correct order!

#bead crochet #crochet #craft #I wore it to see Florence and The Machine perfoming and nearly lost it during Dog Days from jumping so much #luckily it's so heavy I felt it fly off #it took over a month to make so it would have been upsetting to lose it
