Denji regains his memories in 232, right?
I'm sure this is a common interpretation and I just don't hang out in the right circles to hear about it, but doesn't it make a lot of sense for Denji to regain his memories in the ending?
Specifically, let's remember what was actually erased when Pochita ate himself. It wasn't the chainsaw devil specifically since Power still remembers it, so it makes the most sense that it was the Chainsaw Man as a concept that was erased. Denji’s manifestation of confidence, freedom, and most importantly, dreams.
We see then, in this new world, he is completely aimless and without purpose, just strolling along to whatever Nayuta and Power tell him to do. However, then he runs into Asa.
When Asa calls him Chainsaw Man, the chainsaw heart reappears in Denji’s chest. She reinvented the Chainsaw Man, or at least what Pochita meant to Denji. It's additionally compelling how his image of purpose and happiness reappears *after* he throws away a chainsaw.
At this point, I mean to argue, Denji should remember the events of the manga, since the Chainsaw Man, or chainsaw heart or Pochita or whatever, was reinvented. Yoru remembered nuclear weapons only after noticing them, not immediately when they were created, and since Denji is the only one to notice the chainsaw heart, no one else remembers.
I think this is somewhat heavily implied with Denji's look of shock after catching Asa, and with how longingly he watches her run off, and I wanna know if there's anything I'm missing which makes this unlikely.
