Power System
Okay, Lets talk about the Power System in my JJK x FNAF AU. This is a long post. You have been warned. (Not fully finished (little things here and there are going to be changed or added on), will continue on a different post in the future)
A lot is the same as in the original JJK power system (I don't really want to touch it that much, it feel like if a move one thing the whole building is falling with it.), the main deferences is that there's three forms of energy, there's three types of main domains (not talking about simple domain or barrier less domains), two types of curses, and blackfash as well as bounding vows have been split into two different that work similar to before but not really.
Let's talk about this AU's version of Curse Energy
Curse Energy:
Curse energy originally in JJK is the negative emotion of people, regular people spew that energy that late create curses while sorcerers are able to contain that energy and control it turning them into techniques.
Now curse energy has been turned into two different energy system. Soul energy and Agony energy. Soul energy it the most like curse energy as in it's naturally in every human and animal in the world. While Agony energy is similar to curse energy as it's born from the suffering of people and life in general.
Soul energy is based of off FNAF's remnant and can due three things, one, enhance the body, two, gives an innate technique to it's user, and three, Soul vows. The body enhancement that soul energy can do is limited to the users own ability to handle (So if someone some how has infinite soul energy they can't enhance their punches so that it has infinite in power unless their body is strong enough to actually handle it), but doesn't leave much strain from overuse.
The techniques that soul energy grants aren't that good on average. Most techniques are just simple little things that make performing rituals or using soul or agony energy more efficiently. An example would be Michael's six eyes, after getting revived and he was able to access his soul energy and agony, his soul technique was the six eyes which allows him to see and harness soul and agony energy better. But Soul techniques can grow stronger if the user stay true to themself and fully understand who they are.
Soul vows are basically like binding vows, but they can't effect anything involving agony only the users body and soul.
When an exorcist (this AU's name for sorcerers) runs out of soul energy, they'll just get more tired and wont be able to use their techniques like in JJK
A little info dump on agony energy, agony energy, if you could't tell is based on FNAF's agony. And this spiritual energy thing hasn't been explored like at all in the games and only in the books which I don't read. I have some basic knowledge on how it works and if anything is wrong it's just me rewriting a few things to make it work.
Agony energy is created through negative actions that causes pain to oneself or others. An example of how agony is caused, let's say you have a knife, you stab someone with that knife, it hurts the person you stabbed but it didn't kill them, then you do it again. And again. Even if the person you stabbed lived, what's left on the knife are remains and residents of agony (that agony then manifests as a creature, but we'll get there when we get there). A regular person can only leave remains of agony on what hurt them but exorcist keep the agony with in them in the form of trauma. This trauma is what give exorcist their Agony Techniques.
Agony techniques work in the sense that, for example you set an exorcist on fire, that exorcist (if they live and it's a life changing event form how painful it is physically or mentally) will now have the ability to set people on fire. And like soul techniques, where if you stay true to yourself the technique grows stronger, agony techniques grow stronger if it hurts the user more, ether the trauma gets worse or if the exorcist inflict pain on themself of the same technique (with the fire technique the exorcist sets themself on fire). Exorcists can also stack trauma allowing them to have multiple different Agony techniques.
Other than techniques, agony energy can enhance the body and blood promises.
Unlike soul energy, agony energy does allow a user to exceed their physical limits. If someone had infinite agony energy they could enhance the body with infinite agony energy. But unlike soul energy, agony energy doesn't protect or reenforce the body. So, for example, an exorcist that cant punch through a wall because their too weak can now punch through that wall, but if their body isn't natural durable enough to output the force need to break a wall their arm would break like normal, but the wall would be taken down with it. On top of not reenforcing the body, if to much agony is stored in one area of the body that part of the body naturally starts to quake and break.
Blood promise are like Soul vows and binding vows, the user makes a promise, for example with the fire again, "I can only burn someone if I look at them for more that ten seconds, but they'll combust instantaneously." That now will taken into effect immediately like a binding vow and unlike soul vows a blood promise can be done on anything. But if the user were to brake that promise they'll suffer and be dealt an immersible amount of pain that leaves them in a state of near death (depending on the level of the promise).
Agony energy doesn't rune out in the traditional sense. it's not like a bucket with water inside of it and every time the user uses a technique some water gets scooped up. No, it's more like the user is a pot and they're place on a stove, the more they use the technique the hotter he stove gets and the hotter the pot get. The fire never stops but the pot can only take so much heat until it starts to get damaged and even start to melt.
Reverse Curse Energy:
Reverse curse energy is the opposite of curse energy and the closest thing to curse energy in this AU is agony. If you grab agony and multiple it by it's self you get Relief. Relief is the same as reverse curse energy in JJK, it can heal the body, give Relief techniques that are just the opposite of what ever agony technique a exorcist has, and can nullify agony.
Domain Expansions:
JJK only has one type of domain expansion (ignoring simple domain, barrier less domain and innate domains (as far as I understood they're the same as a regular domain)) because JJK only has curse energy while my AU now has two, soul and agony energy.
There are four forms of domain expansions in my JJK x FNAF AU, Soul Expansion, Coffin of Agony, Makeshift Arena, and Domain Expansion.
Soul Expansion are like regular domains in JJK, an exorcist needs to know the ins and outs of you they truly are and understand their technics as much as possible to be able to open one. Soul Expansion are made with soul energy and has a sure hit effect but not a sure kill effect, it also allows for easier follow of both energy, allowing them to run smoothly through the body, which make agony techniques hurt less and deal less damage.
Coffin of Agony isn't as hard to open, even low grade exorcist can open one with out having much experience. The coffin is made using agony energy and, unlike Soul Expansion, give a sure kill effect but not a sure hit effect. On top of that the coffin give the user numbness, which allows them to use any agony technique at their fullest for as long as they want with zero damage dealt to them. But when the Coffin is undone all the damage that would have been dealt all at once come rushing in, it could even possible kill a exorcist if their not careful. Coffin of Agony is also the "domain expansion" of a single agony technique.
Makeshift Arena is difficult technique that only really high grade exorcists can achieve. It's achieved when a exorcist grabs and combines Soul Expansion and a Coffin of Agony. The combinations for it's creation can be different, Soul Expansion and a Coffin of Agony, or a Coffin of Agony with another, or even multiple Coffin of Agony and one Soul Expansion. Makeshift Arena aren't permanent ether, exorcists can make a Makeshift Arena with two different Coffin of Agony and then use one of those Coffin of Agony and fuse it with a Soul Expansion to make another Makeshift Arena.
Domain Expansion in the AU is a unheard of barrier technique that was invented by a single character. it grabs and combines all Coffin of Agony that an exorcist has and their Soul Expansion into a single technique that cant be undone, but it's considered the highest form of barrier techniques.
Black Flash:
There are two different types of Black Flashes. One for Agony energy called Black Blood and one for Soul energy White Blaze. Both do the same power boost that a regular Black Flash dose in JJK. But Black Blood can keep growing stronger and stronger after every Black Blood landed. Black Blood also doesn't reenforce the exorcist when they punch with that much force, doesn't give adrenaline, and inflicts pain on the user, which boosts their agony to a self harming degree (The same pain that you get when you hit your elbow the wrong way on corner or something). Black Blood is usually used by low grade exorcist as it's a lot easier to land than a White Blaze and by really high grade exorcist as their able to use soul energy to reenforce their body or use joy energy to heal.
Curses:
There are two major types of curses in this AU, Spirits and Demons. Spirits are the souls of the dead that still roaming the world with unfinished business. Demons as the name given to the creatures that are formed from agony. Each have a variant of themselves, spirits have the possessed, spirits that have possessed an object or area and haunts people, and demons have demon lords, they are the highest form of demons.
Spirits are created when a person are killed by regular weapons (Not possessed) or with a weapon that is laced with a lot of agony. If by a regular weapon or natural causes, the spirit roams with an objective and is unable to move on until they can complete that objective. The longer the spirit goes without achieving their goal the more agitated and quicker to random violence they become. The higher grade the spirit is the longer they can go without completing their objective before becoming animalistic and violent.
People that have been killed by a weapon that is laced with agony have a higher chance of becoming a roaming spirit. And those spirits don’t tend to have an objective and are doomed to lose all sense of possible humanity and become animalistic and violent.
Weak possessed spirits that would be classified in the ranges of grade 4 to grade 2 don’t remember anything from their previous life other than what their object is and how they died. Spirits in grade 1 are able to remember glimpses of their previous life and are able to do other things other than their unfinished business. Spirits stronger than grade 1 practically remember who they were before they died and are able to live perfectly fine, they tend to be pretty chill and even a few of them help exorcists.
Depending on the grade of the spirit, depends on what that spirit can possess, there is also forced possession which is what happened to the OG FNAF crew. Grade 4 and 3 spirits can possess small objects like clocks and knifes, grade 3 only able to possess slightly larger objects than grade 4. Grade 2 spirits start to truly be able to possess thing, they’re able to possess large items like wardrobes and even whole rooms. Grade 1 spirits get a massive gap in strength from grade 2 spirits as they’re able to possess and haunt an entire house to even the rarest of occasion an entire building. Special grade Spirits can haunt and possess the range of a town. And finally, catastrophe grade spirits can possess and haunt whole cities.
(With the grade power in mind, the OG FNAF crew were grade 3 grade 2 at best. But Cassity or Golden Freddy, were grade 1 to even possible weak special grade (like really weak). And the only reason that the other FNAF crew members able to remember anything was because Cassity was placing their influence on them, giving them enough energy to somewhat remember their identities.)
Demons are created after a certain pain grows strong enough it can get a tangible body. They take the shape and the appearance of what caused the pain to appear in the first place, physically and/or symbolically. If someone causes enough pain with a knife, then a small knife demon with appear. Demons are able to grow in strength if what caused the original pain keeps on causing pain or they eat another demon of the same pain. So, if someone went around stabbing more people with that knife the little knife demon wouldn’t be so little and if they found another knife demon in the wild, it’s on sight. Demons also naturally hate and want to cause as much pain as possible to humans without a rhyme or a reason, like curses in JJK.
Demon Lords are the highest class of demon (They’re in Special Grade, and Catastrophe Grade. Demon lord is just quicker to say and other reasons) they emite a from of sent that lours other demons of the same type to find them so that it can eat the smaller ones. Demon lords are also able to think reasonable, even if they still want to cause as much pain as possible to humans without a rhyme or a reason, they’re able to hold themselves back if it means killing, hurting, and causing more agony in the long run.
Grades:
Just like there are Six grades of power for Curses and Sorcerers for Demons, Spirits, and Exorcists.
Exorcists : Grade 4, Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, Special Grade, and Tragedy Grade.
Demons and Spirits : Grade 4, Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, Special Grade, and Catastrophe Grade.
