4.0tale is a cyber-music Undertale AU centered around Sans, who was originally nothing more than a lazy gamer and talented hacker living in Snowdin. He only became a DJ because of his younger brother, Papyrus, a charismatic rapper who pulled him onto the stage and gave him a reason to connect with the world. Everything changed after countless RESETs and Genocide timelines caused by the Player. Watching Papyrus die over and over again broke Sans completely. Knowing he could never defeat the Player through normal means, he turned to the AU’s forbidden power: "AI" (an entity with near-absolute control over the game’s system), capable of granting immense knowledge and manipulating reality itself. After obtaining AI, Sans became Techno. Unlike many versions of Sans, Techno does not hate Frisk. He understands that Frisk is merely a character being controlled by someone beyond the screen. His hatred is directed toward the Player ("us"). Using AI, Techno seizes control of the game itself, locking choices, denying freedom, and preventing the Player from doing whatever they want. His ultimate goal is not to destroy the Underground, but to break through the boundary of the game and reach the one responsible for the endless cycle of suffering. 4.0tale, the true battle is not between Frisk and Sans. It is between a character who became aware of his own fiction and the person holding the controls.

- Techno first learned about the existence of other AUs when Nightmare visited 4.0Tale in an attempt to recruit him into his faction. However, Techno had no interest in joining anyone's side and immediately rejected the offer. Even so, the encounter sparked his curiosity. If other worlds truly existed beyond his own, then there had to be a way to reach them.
- Driven by that curiosity, Techno began experimenting with the forbidden ability "AI" alongside his own hacking skills. After countless attempts, he eventually succeeded in breaking through the boundaries of 4.0Tale, allowing himself to freely travel between alternate universes. Rather than pursuing any grand objective, he wandered the multiverse simply because he found it interesting.
- During one of these journeys, Techno encountered Error. Fascinated by Error's corrupted existence, he secretly began "repairing" him, treating the process as nothing more than another experiment to satisfy his curiosity.
- After some time, Ink noticed that Error had started behaving strangely. Unable to determine the cause, he asked the others to investigate. Fresh eventually tracked the source of the problem after being guided there by the "Audience", leading him directly to Techno's privately programmed dimension.
- Their first meeting immediately turned hostile. Techno was genuinely surprised that Fresh had managed to enter a space that was supposed to be accessible only to himself. To Techno, Fresh was interfering with an experiment he had been enjoying. Meanwhile, Fresh saw Techno as the reason behind Error's unusual behavior and viewed stopping him as part of his responsibility to the "Audience".
- The two quickly engaged in battle. However, despite fighting with everything they had, neither side was able to gain a decisive advantage. Their abilities and adaptability were so evenly matched that the battle reached a complete stalemate. Realizing that continuing to fight would accomplish nothing, both agreed to stop and settle the situation through conversation instead.
- During their discussion, Techno discovered something that immediately caught his attention: Fresh possessed the ability to break the fourth wall ( the very thing Techno had been searching for ever since becoming aware of the truth behind his own world).
- Seeing an opportunity, Techno proposed a deal. If Fresh agreed to help him one day escape beyond the boundaries of the game and into the world outside the screen, Techno would immediately stop "repairing" Error and leave him alone. Fresh accepted the proposal, though with one condition, the time wasn't right yet.
- As their conversation continued, the two realized they actually had something else in common. Beyond their own personal goals, both simply enjoyed having fun and chasing whatever interested them. That unexpected similarity completely changed the atmosphere between them. Instead of remaining enemies, they called a truce and acted as though their battle had never happened.
- In the present day, Techno has largely abandoned the experiments that once consumed him and now spends most of his time relaxing after everything he has been through. Fresh, however, still visits him from time to time whenever his own side encounters problems too difficult to solve alone, often relying on Techno's intelligence and hacking abilities to deal with situations beyond anyone else's capabilities.

Techno is extremely arrogant, having complete confidence in both his intelligence and his abilities. He rarely believes anyone can outsmart or overpower him. Although he usually appears calm and playful, he can become surprisingly manic whenever something genuinely captures his curiosity, often throwing himself into experiments without caring about the consequences.
Likes:
- Cheese, especially pizza.
- Cats ( His favorite animals).
- Rap music, largely because Papyrus was a rapper.
- Video games, as he was originally a gamer long before becoming a DJ.
- Whenever he's bored, he likes chewing bubble gum made from his own holograms.
Dislikes:
- Being interrupted while working or experimenting.
- Sports, which he finds boring.
- Insects and parasites ( get it? He's a gamer and also a hacker... And he HATE "bug" hehe)

- Any food or anything related to octopuses.
Fears:
- Despite his confidence, Techno has a genuine fear of tentacles. Because of this, he dislikes octopuses as well as monsters or Sans variants that possess tentacles, such as Nightmare ( This fear is also one of the reasons why he rejected Nightmare's invitation in the first place).

- Techno can freely travel between AUs using his hacking abilities. He is also capable of editing an AU's code, allowing him to add, remove, or alter parts of its programming.
- He can create solid pink holograms that function as real objects and is even able to generate holographic clone of other characters and himself.
- Thanks to the forbidden ability "AI," Techno possesses extraordinary intelligence, allowing him to rapidly analyze situations and predict countless possibilities. He can also "Hack" his offensive and defensive capabilities in to "high level", he is considered one of the strongest beings in the Underverse.
- Because of his overwhelming power, Techno is often regarded as an "optional hidden boss" within the Underverse. Luckly, he has no true enemies there ( at most, there are simply individuals he doesn't get along with).
Weaknesses:
- Despite his strength, Techno has several limitations. His code deletion abilities only work properly on game-based characters. They cannot be used directly on beings such as Ink or Fresh, whose existences aren't tied to standard game code.
- Against unique entities like Error or Fatal, Techno must first locate and understand their "code" before he can manipulate or "erase" it ( that's why he was almost kill Error because of his curiosity...).
- Additionally, overusing the forbidden ability "AI" places immense strain on his body and mind, eventually causing severe exhaustion.

- Although Techno is extremely intelligent and cautious, if someone invites him to do something interesting enough, he'll be surprisingly easy to talk into it, especially when he's bored.
- Techno sometimes cries for no apparent reason. Deep down, he's feeling sad without realizing it, because he's forgotten what that emotion feels like.
- Techno gets very awkward around people with small, adorable appearances. To him, they seem like clueless little kids, which makes him embarrassingly easy to fluster around them ( you could say that Techno sees cute things as completely innocent and impossible to predict) Ah, and Techno also can't deal with people who are just too dumb.
- When he's exhausted, Techno heats up like an overheating electronic device, so he often takes off his jacket to cool down.

- First, I'll split Techno and Fresh Sans's relationship in Underverse into two versions: canon and fanon.
Canon:
- Techno and Fresh don't have any romantic feelings for each other. They aren't particularly fond of one another either, though neither of them makes it obvious. Their relationship is based solely on a mutual agreement to pursue a shared goal: fun. Fresh is the only one capable of entering Techno's personal space thanks to his ability to break the fourth wall, so he occasionally drops by to ask Techno to help the protagonists.
Fanon: or different AU
- good friends, they enjoy looking for fun together.
- If it's a toxic ship, I like portraying Fresh as the possessive, controlling one, while Techno is the one yearning for love.
- If it's a healthy ship, then the two start out as friends before gradually becoming lovers. Fresh openly has feelings for Techno, while Techno, despite always looking annoyed, secretly likes Fresh just as much.
Error Sans:
- Error absolutely hates Techno because he nearly "fixed" him once. As for Techno, he occasionally likes to tease Error whenever they happen to cross paths.
Ink Sans:
- Techno doesn't like the fact that Ink is helping "them", but he doesn't hold anything against Ink as a person. In fact, Techno finds Ink quite interesting.
Dream Sans:
- Techno doesn't think there's anything particularly special about Dream.
Swap Sans:
- Techno always sees a reflection of his brother Papyrus in every Swap Sans. Because of that, he tends to be especially gentle with them and usually avoids unnecessary conflict.

I think Astruc has said previously that he doesn’t worry about the details, he just writes what he thinks is cool at the time. Which would explain his frequent Twitter retcons, fan bases love word building and his writing and the shows format seems to favor playing fast and loose with continuity so we end up with situations like when we were told Kagami has multiple family rings or maybe it was an animation error depending on which writer/brand ambassador is answering questions today.
He 'doesn't worry about the details' but he also wants to be praised as this cool hard systems worldbuilder.

Look, I'm a soft systems guy. I *love* playing loose to leave room for wonder and surprise. It also cuts back on people from pointing out all the 'holes' in your world. Does anyone whinge about what 'spells' Gandalf knows? Bro is an angelic being encased in flesh who does 'magic stuff'. The Simarils were light encased in crystal that did ??? But were really important! What was the *exact* list of powers the One Ring had?
And people love Tolkein.
Hard systems trap you, especially in a long running property. Miraculous Ladybug is running into that. I don't really fault them for trying to loosen it up. I fault Thomas for wanting it both ways.

here are the group concepts I have for us (the first two have darker themes, while the last one is more so silly)
Name: Guardians of Creation
inspo: Sailor Moon, Smile Precure and Madoka Magica
a group of witches and wizards that are trying to bring back the spark of magic and creation to the younger generation. This concept was made because nowadays kids are so glued to their screens and are forgetting the magic of, well, magic—it was also created to help face the cruelty of the world we live in and help others create the kinder world they’ve always dreamed of.
this was heavily inspired by the saying:
“be the kindness you wish to see in the world.”
Weapons: small key keychains that become huge staffs
Powers: Each key represents a different form of magic within the world (obviously by the image above) and the ruler of each key holds the power concept each key represents

abyss. (My key) Every form of creation must have a blank canvas as its starting point, a bleak world so to say.
vision. You must envision the world you want to create, how it’ll look and be.
realm. After envisioning your world you have to give it structure, a place to belong in to replace the void/abyss
illusion. what is not allowed into this new world (law key).
truth. what is allowed into this new world (law key).
unity. With the rules set into place the people of your new world can now walk hand in hand safely into your new world, a world where they can be themselves with no one to tell them otherwise.
time. Now that your world has been envisioned, revised, and expanded, you now must find the time and place to create this world.

inspo: Futari Wa Pretty Cure and Dreaming☆Princess Pretty Cure
a group of precures whose goal is to bring back motivation to the people (those who suffer from depression, anxiety, exhaustion, lack of motivation, etc). Each precure represents a different form of creative activity. I made this group concept because I suffered, and still do, badly from depression and never had the motivation to get out of bed and do anything. I had no aspirations, no goals, no motivation, nothing. But as I tried to get better with my life, get more hobbies, more friends, and more of a sense of self, I realized how happy I was doing so, so I wanted to, and still do, help others find the motivation they need to keep pushing forward.
heavily inspired by the saying:
“Don't be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.”
Weapons: whatever activity the cure is, their weapon is based on that activity (ex: football player -> a ball / a digital artist -> a digital stylist or mouse or even just their hands if they’re a finger artist)
Powers: the cures abilities are up to the cures imagination, whatever they believe their limit is then that’s their limit (this is also to put into play the saying “the sky’s the limit.”)

the concept these enemies are based off on are negative emotions (suicidal thoughts, violence, discouragement, dehumanization, etc).

inspo: Card-captor Sakura and Little Witch Academia
a group of young heroes that have the ability to transform into different chess pieces, trying to protect the world from the enemy chess team that wishes to turn the human race into pawns under their rule. The creation of this concept was just for fun, nothing too deep, just some kids and an adult trying to fight back against some alien invasion ig (we can try to add a deeper meaning to it later if u all so please).
weapons: the chess pieces themselves, while the chess board is the ultimate final weapon.
Attack explanation: how these cures fight are by chess logic, and when they use the chess board they can move their chess pieces to help do combined attacks with the other cures.
obviously the catch phrase this group has is,
“checkmate!”
Enemy: the enemy chess team that are technically aliens, they could be some sort of negative force on Earth tho

Ya know what’s not talked about more? The fact that Sans might be able to teleport buildings.
Sure, maybe Grillby’s existed in Deltarune at some point and just got abandoned or something. Maybe all of Sans’s outposts have snow on them because TobyFox didn’t want to redraw the sprite.
