Calling the hollow knight community!!

What would a Hollow Knight chess set look like? I need insight.

Pictured above is a very quick rendition of my initial idea. Im not against the matching pieces (knights, rooks, bishops) to be asymmetrical.

This is meant to be Hallownest vs Infection rather than actual politics. Infection corrupts even those that were initially on pale kings side. Also, for the queen pieces I put Hollow Knight because it fits nicely, them being torn from both sides.

Im planning on making this same thing except Silksong lore (which would be Silk vs Void)

Team cherry said themselves that all endings are canon. And I agree because frankly, canon is anything that is in the game. To silksong, Embrace the void might be the preexisting ending. In the case of every other ending hollow knight provides, most damningly, Sealed Siblings, Silksong might not have happened. And that is still canon. Alternative routes exist, but just aren’t explored.

It is for certain that Silksong takes place after Embrace the Void (with the delicate flower) when completing the Sister of Void ending, but it could also happen after the Hollow knight ending. The infection will, (probably) at some point, take over hallownest once again, but hornet could still be kidnapped. The problems arise in Silksongs Sister of Void ending when following this up. Well, simply put, it just can’t happen if following the Hollow knight ending, because Ghost’s shade is not only stuck to their body, but also wasn’t become the Shade lord. So in this case, Hollow knight ending cannot predate Sister of Void. But to put restrictions on Silksongs endings based on your hollow knight endings would be kinda silly, so of course they didn’t do that. You just assume that it takes place after Embrace the void.

Why I believe in the alternative routes so much is because both Silksong and hollow knight have parallels in their endings. Either you take the “source of the plight” straight on without much thought, (GMS & HK), OR you think ahead and try to find the solution that actually fixes the problem. (Sister of Void & Embrace the Void)

Or, you just fuck around and find out (Sealed siblings & cursed)

Im just tired of people claiming “canon” to endings when no, it’s just exploring an alternative route. And how convenient is it that they explore the most interesting route which allows Hornet to do all these things. (Not convenient at all, it’s deliberate)

After finishing SIGNALIS I’ve been thinking about it nonstop. I find it so fascinating how catchy the magpie signal is, I keep hearing it in my head, but considering the games lore I find it all the more unsettling and sad lol

Exploring a bit more of weaver queen ending Hornet. I know that logically she wouldn’t grow to be taller than the Hollow knight but please let me indulge lol

Moral ambiguity with this one… I feel like the more dominant higher beings care more for their domain rather than the bugs that live within it, their subservients. Of course, they need the common bugs to reign over, but what they make with it truly matters more to them.

Due to the combination of her father’s godly blood and GMS binded to her, she has the perspective and will of a higher being. She is Hornet no longer, at least not in mind and spirit. Upon binding Silk, she laid waste to the entirety of Pharloom. Now, she seeks to raise it from the ground up to be stronger, grander than it ever was in the image of Deepnest: her home.

I tried to capture both GMS and Herrah in her design. Her limbs are retractable and are hidden in her torso like the ribs. She gained six eyes by binding Silk, but she associates them with Herrah more. As her cloak got torn to shreds, she wove its silk into her hair, keeping deepnest weaver culture with her.

Began with Lace since she will be very relevant in the current fanfic I’m writing and I like my design of her, then began Hornet, then drew Shakra too for the fun of it even though she couldn’t fit in frame ahah,,,
