his gaze is immensely focused upon your form, as if analyzing you and the cause behind your actions; thoughts even, which makes you feel a bit more vulnerable than intended, yet you tried your best to not let it show. but if you ever think you could hide anything from him, then you're surely mistaken.
he's clearly judging you at this point. how amusing.
"which explains why you couldn't focus that well during the briefing earlier."
you sent him a look of uncertainty, "okay, and i still completed my tasks..?"
wesker exhales, using one of his free hands to rub his temple. "you know that's not what i meant."
"the dark circles under your eyes are starting to look really bad."
"oh," you rubbed the back of your head sheepishly, doing mini arm stretches afterwards. "i'm sorry. i can't really sleep that well at night."
"i keep thinking about paperworks and just... you know, all the duty stuff in general."
he seems to be in his own contemplative state for a second there, before he fixes the glasses he usually wears slightly; ultimately shifting his gaze solely away from you, and to the said papers that's currently laid out atop of your desk.
"that's enough for today."
"what? but i still have some—"
"i don't want to repeat myself twice." he turns, so his back is now facing you. though, each words that slips past his lips seemed more... oddly tender, in certain aspects. you believed that the lack of sleep is starting to get to you for even having such a ridiculous thought.
"you're off from today's task. sleep as much as you want, and if you do return tomorrow, you can continue completing your given tasks properly."
"am i clear?" you eventually nodded, and at the same time, you couldn't contain the smile from forming upon his mere actions, despite the directness and a bit of oddity that came along with it.
"yes.. thank you, captain."
wesker nodded briefly, and one last thing that you sure you've heard even if it seems like a breeze passing by amidst the uncertainty of it all, before he exits through the door—
"and just call me albert when we're alone." just like that, he left your office space afterwards, leaving you totally bewildered and near speechless as to what to respond next.
