- unique customizeable skin tones, eye color, clothes, and m/f option for your adorable silent protagonist

- one of those jrpgs that leaves out all the overcomplicated bullshit and 5 hour long tutorials so you can just enjoy the game. like this game is just so pleasant

- you get to be the chief of your very own little town in the desert and its really pretty/cool and it just gets progressively cooler as it grows

- lots of places to explore all filled with fun puzzles that even i could do (and i’m the worst at puzzles!) 

- really nice and always appropriate ambient soundtrack! all the music in this game is so complimentary to the gameplay

- EVERYTHING IS ADORABLE. EVERYTHING.

THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS GAME THAT ISN’T PRECIOUS, you will smile all the time!!!!!

- all your residents can have little shops that you upgrade by restocking their materials with spoils from your outings and doing quests for them!

each one is unique and you can even change the color as you upgrade them!

- there are lizard people and desert furries that will come live with you too that are all as adorable as everything else 

- NOOTS.

these adorable little shits are the customers that visit your shops. your oasis will always be full of them and they chirp and wave at you when you say hi to them!!!

now if you play the male protagonist that’s all well and good but let me tell you my favorite part of this game. 

you make the oasis by joining forces with esna and using your power together with hers to create the oasis. the oasis is protected by a big fucking rainbow that circles the whole thing. 

 every time the oasis is ready to level up you hold hands with her and look deeply into each other’s eyes and the rainbow pulses out love to protect everyone and make it stronger and better.

basically it’s incredibly. gay.
