With how ban-happy the admins are, shouldn’t it be theoretically possible to frame someone for multiaccounting by simply making an account and funneling everything you get on it to that person? IP be dammed; I’m sure staff know what a vpn is and if the account looks suspicious enough, they’ll probably assume one is being used.

This obviously is not a good thing and shouldn’t be abused regularly, but it might be useful for removing some unsavory folk from the site, such as people like T the pedo (who is already gone, thank god).

I have been inactive because I’ve been sucked into the life sucker of MMOs.

I like goat vials, I wish they weren’t account bound. I am happy that staff is at least showing us that they are listening and willing to compromise. My ultimate wish is that all eyes come in non-RNG vials that are obtainable, even if they are difficult to obtain/rare/expensive/etc.

Yay free Elims. I needed one. I can’t wait to see the back and forth of people complaining about the gift causing Elim prices to drop, and then other people complaining about those people because Elims are expensive and difficult for newer players to get. Coming soon to the next week of DR posts.

Going to a user page and asking if you can buy a special id that's not on the ah and straight up lying about why you want it (has pretty genes/colors/etc) while also hiding the fact it's id is special is just not good no matter how you spin it. The id market is very niche, and a lot of times you're not going to notice the id of a fodder hatch, it's hard to blame the seller for not noticing it. What Benzyne is doing is shady and, at worst, scamming/bad faith trading which is against site rules

I think by this point it’s up to the staff themselves to make a proper detailed statement or something about what their idea of a scam/bad faith trade is. Aside from the obvious stuff like not sending your side of the trade, or lying about the price.

I do wanna address one thing (not just related to Benzyne/SIDREP): people can change their minds on a whim. One moment you might be buying a dragon off of someone thinking it’s the perfect one, and the next you’ll be selling it because you found a better dragon, or you don’t want it anymore and regret spending the money, etc. To the person you bought it from (if you messaged them), it might seem like you lied to them to get the dragon just to profit off of it. And some people do genuinely use that ‘tactic’. But it’s not something that can really be proven unless you can read people’s minds, or they admit to it, in which case it might be hard for staff to take action. I know I’ve done this more than once due to ADHD and I still sometimes feel bad, but I’m not just gonna message the person again asking for my cash back. I think one of them even blocked me for it, but I guess that’s deserved enough. In the world of millions of pixel dragons, it happens, and I don’t think enough people consider the possibility, so I’d like to maybe bring some attention to it

I don’t think people care about people buying a dragon for x purpose, and then reselling it. Even if they told the seller that they were buying it for x purpose. People care that this buying and reselling is happening specifically when the original owner is intentionally deceived into selling their dragon for lower than it’s worth, by hiding the actual worth of said dragon.

So I don’t ready understand your point of contention.

We do not lie, we simply omit the information that the dragon has a special ID in order to achieve a lower price. Here at SIDREP, we believe that it is the buyer’s responsibility to notice and take advantage of any characteristics of the dragon that may make it sell for more.

If someone hypothetically hatched a first-generation Primal and didn’t notice the eye type when selling it (yes, it’s highly unlikely to happen, but this is a thought experiment) would it be the buyer’s fault for buying it at the price its owner pegged it at?

Lying about why you want a dragon and hiding its value is entirely different than purchasing a dragon off the auction house for less than it may be worth.

The key difference is that you're approaching people that aren't already selling their dragon. You seek them out and ask if they would be willing to part with a dragon, lowball them, all while hiding that they have a special ID that is worth more.

YOU say it yourself that you do this to deceive the dragon's owner so you can get a cheaper price. How you do not see that at the very least as immoral and bad faith trading, I don't know.

It may not be technically against any rules, but you're knowingly taking advantage of people and you're a scummy piece of shit for it.

I was a former member of the Special ID Collectors Group SIDREP. I left due to a lack of interest with IDs, but I do still check in on occasion. I’ve noticed as of recent some people with lairs I use for inspiration have been receiving profile comments similar to the following from current SIDREP members : ‘Hey is the primary/secondary/tertiary breed gender for sale?’ The members hide the fact that they are only purchasing for the ID, and if they do manage to purchase the dragons they then auction or resell for several times the original price. Looking into it I found out about ‘Bad-Faith Trading’ which is something that looks like it can possible result in account strikes and bans, I checked out the official tumblr for the group and one of the anonymous asks was very similar to my current concerns, to which the runner of the tumblr blog answered with the following : ‘We do not lie, we simply omit the information that the dragon has a special ID in order to achieve a lower price.’ This nearly happened to a close friend of mine and I’d like to know what other non-ID oriented players think on this, as it’s not always in the seller’s job description to know what exactly a person’s intent for purchase is; frankly, lying to someone’s face isn’t nice either //

No idea who it is, but I’m willing to bet 13. The “what’s up I’m jared I’m 19″ is an old vine with that quote, so the bio quotes with that age in them are likely a reference to the meme, not an actual declaration of age. There are also a lot of people out there who made accounts while underage, so I’d say it’s more likely that they’re 13 than they are 19.

It’s the curse of DR. And people that aren’t mature enough to handle that someone spoke about them anonymously.

The thing about DR is that the majority of people viewing will have no idea that a post is about you unless you decide, in all your wisdom, to come forward and show that it’s about you. Especially if your name is R from plague. How many R’s from plague are there? A lot. Sure people in the same discord may know it’s you, but everyone else had no idea until @/saturday--jorts thought to reblog it and blame op for complaining about a minor who happened to have a mental illness that he “can’t control” (as many people have pointed out, neither of those are excuses).

Here is the long and the short of it. In my heart of hearts, I felt Rix was being very unsafe. Making friends with pedophiles, posting pictures of herself, talking about a boyfriend that is too old for her - I operated that she was telling the truth about Jay.

So I dug more. As a result of Rix being thirteen and not as smart as she thinks she is, I found her real name. This should come as no surprise - it’s not Rixen. I’m not going to post it because she is actually thirteen, but I can prove myself to Rix if she thinks I’m lying.

I contacted a family member. Who told me they would contact her mother.

Jay isn’t real, Ellie isn’t real. “Rixen” and crew is nothing more than another stunt by a sad, lonely kid. So, that’s my guess for the deletion of her and fake-boyfriend-Jay’s blog. Sorry not sorry. Learn and come back to the internet in a few years, “Rix”.

I’ve been getting a lot of asks about Silverwolv/Elanyx deactivating her tumblr, and this is all the information I have on the situation. Someone asked if this can be verified and I cannot verify it outside of requesting this blog divulge the information they gathered on Silverwolv’s real name. Which I don’t want to have happen because I do not want her to get publicly doxed given her age.

I have mixed feelings on the situation. While I’m not happy that someone was able to get that kind of information on Silverwolv, I am thankful that they aren’t sharing the information and that they contacted her family/parents. From what I gather, they were able to find her real life information because of the things she posted on tumblr which is absolutely a problem. If they can find that information, someone with more nefarious intentions could find that information. It’s probably for the best that her tumblr was deactivated so that information isn’t available anymore, regardless if it was at the request of her parents or not.

Hey I have multiple gmail accounts and you don’t need a phone number to use their services, unless you do suss stuff or want extra youtube features, then they’ll ask for it to confirm you’re not a bot. Now, Outlook, is a pain in the ass when it comes to FORCING phone numbers.

Hm, that’s interesting, I haven’t been able to make a google/gmail account for a while without being able to input a phone number. I know it’s not my IP as I’ve had friends with similar issues, so I moved away from the service. At one point I know it wasn’t required as I have my original gmail account unconnected to a phone, so I don’t know. Interesting to know, thanks for the feedback.

It’s funny too because the post that I was responding to mentions that inbreeding within reptile breeding is normal to an extent, which is true.

I also mentioned in my post that Lioden does allow for inbreeding, so I guess everyone who plays Lioden and doesn’t care if their lions are inbred at some point in their line, are also horrible because they see “nothing wrong with incest”?
