it makes me so mad that "confessions of a human shield" by emily nussbaum doesn't exist anywhere outside of the physical essay collection it's a part of because it's so fucking good & i think it deserves to be a foundational text in how we approach good art made by shitty people, and especially good art about women made by misogynists. like in the wake of the neil gaiman variety piece i wish everyone was able to read it because truly no one gets it like her
