‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ "Oh--!!" The human quickly covered their eyes at the sight of Starline undressing, to be polite.

They would have thought the platypus would have given them some warning, then a thought occurred to them... Sonic and his male friends constantly run around naked all the time. Clothing or lack thereof probably wasn't a huge deal for Mobians. They uncovered their eyes, but still looked to the side, like the sign on locker room rules had their focus.

Hearing Yu-nae let out a noise makes him pause, but he doesn't immediately turn around because he was fiddling with the little gold chain on his collar to get it properly unfastened. Once he has it, he looks over his shoulder. ... And a little smug smile crosses his face.

"Something the matter?" He asks, blinking his eyes oh so innocently. Blink blink, blinkity blink blink. "Spas aren't usually my thing either, but I got a coupon. And, well... I think you could use it the most."

Especially ones that thought you were dead.

But he had at least managed to work up the courage to knock on the door. And he would be standing there when she opened it. Maybe he'd spot Rika running around in the background- Gaia, he remembered when she was still a bit of a toddler... She's probably grown up so much. Too much.

When the door opens, there he is. Or, what's left of him.

"Um-" He immediately speaks, as if to reassure her he isn't some sort of fucked up ghost of her... He'd like to think, Old friend. "I, uh. I hope I'm not... Interrupting anything. Do you perhaps.... Have a moment to talk...?"

That's strange, she didn't expect visitors late at night; firstly not many creatures had the audacity to visit her at the witching hour, seeing as Rika was nocturnal. Secondly the forest has gotten a lot more strict as of recent years. She went out less, therefore, less strangers and wanderers were allowed inside.

Still, it'd be best to go see what this surprise guest wanted, it wasn't in the monsters nature to deny one.

"Ah'm comin' ah'm comin'! Hold yer herses." Her voice was still as scottish as ever, if not, more mature and tired.

"Who--" her voice got caught in her throat opening the door. A pregnant second of disbelief as she tried to find her voice.

"STARLOINE!"

A relieved, sharp, and concerned cry from her throat. "YER ALOIVE!? WHERE HAVE YE BEEN? YER FACE, YER BODY-- HO. LAD." Bigger and more mature, but still the same concerned eyes that looked down at him.

A tearful reunion. When was the last time someone had cried for him? Had mourned his lack of presence? Long ago. Maybe never. It's not like he really deserved it. But dear Gaia, did it feel good to just... Feel wanted. Starline doesn't know exactly when he lost his footing, probably somewhere between hearing his name in her accent and hearing her barrage of questions. He follows her in, of course. When he finds the ability to stand.

"Thank you, my dear. It is rather chilly tonight. Not that I'm great at detecting temperature anymore. But I'll get back there eventually. My healing has made significant progress, all things considered. Being left for dead at the bottom of an crumbling factory tends to, um... Leave a man worse for wear." Well. That's a 'what happened' answered. With far too much casual candor for the gravity of the state he's in.

He takes a seat at her table. He really should ask for permission, but it's been a long walk. His traveling isn't the hop, skip, and warp topaz jump it used to be. His legs are tired. And the leather boots, while stylish, aren't the most comfortable for long walks in magical forests.

"As for where I've been... Underground, in hiding, mostly. I hope you can... Forgive my lack of communication. I have had to put myself back together for the most part. In a literal and metaphorical sense. But- Wow. Look at you." He seems a little breathless at Honey now that he's gotten a proper look at her.

It had been a long time. Too long. It passed without conscious awareness. Last he'd heard that voice, Zavok was still grasping at straws - knee-deep in a bargain that, for a moment, he had near-to-no hope of fulfilling. For all intents and purposes, they all stared extinction right in the eye.

Then the good Mobian Doctor came along. The champion had always questioned his motives... implicitly so. There must have been something to gain from retrieving his kind; snatching them away from the jaws of certain doom. Zavok had done the heavy lifting, and nevertheless did not find himself betrayed. Awaiting for him was another eternal search, albeit one far more hopeful than the initial pursuit of the Gateway.

Now, it was a matter of finding a place to call home.

"My quest yet demands my undivided attention, Doctor." he admitted flatly, ever the stoic wall of pure Zeti pride, standing tall and strong against all odds. "We stand to lose a lot. More so than before. It is thanks to you, however, that we now have a fighting chance."

"Must I need something of you to make a social call?"

Yes, he does, actually. That's quite literally the only reason he helped him at all. For his own gain! Why else would anyone do anything? For friendship and good will among men? Gross.

"... But if I did come potentially seeking you out for a small favor, hypothetically speaking... I know you tend to run hot. Very hot. So I was wondering if you were... Maybe..."

He rolls his hand with a flourish as if he's having trouble finding the word. But that bush is getting beat around.

Starline has brainwashed Mimic into acting like him and constantly posing as him for the first part of the fight against Sonic and Eggman so he can pass off as completely unharmed and backstab both of them when they think they've won, or just something to do with Mimic in general because Starline is DEFINITELY scorned by him too.

Starline has amnesia and became delusional to the point he thinks he IS Eggman and starts dressing and acting like him and believing the other to be the imposter and since he knows so much about him he's a near perfect replica personality wise. Can you imagine how insufferable it would be. Two eggmans.

I doubt my clone thing for my Eggman and Starline verse is canon but clone shenanigan adjacent of having hundreds of copies of Sonic and Co to the point they can't tell who's who anymore and neither can the clones and in the chaos he tries taking over.

With Infinite's recent mention in the Chaotix Files, what if they just make Starline and him team up. Huh. What if they just make the crackship Starinfinite canon just because they both kinda fucking died but not really. What if they did that. What if they make Infinite a Frakenstein's monster. Starline's monster.

Another idea of just. Threatening to end Sonic if Eggman doesn't admit he's the superior mind. Hostage situation of SOME sort.

What if he's made his own virus. And he's the only one with immunity.
