“I don’t appreciate you coming up here disturbing my peace to threaten me. I am an Echidna warrior. I will not be bossed around so easily.”

"I mean- you could do what I say, or me and my friend could mark you down as a "problem;" and do you really want that?"

The echidna immediately goes to punch the other in the stomach for even touching him

a cyan streak speeds toward angel island, stopping once it gets right above the master emerald’s shrine. From the cyan glow drops a familiar white hedgehog, with said hedgehog walking up to speak with the guardian. “Hey knux! It’s been a while, huh? I need to talk to you about something. Somethings? Whatever. I just need to talk.”

silver immediately raises his hands defensively, not trying to provoke knuckles into a fight. “Wait wait wait! It’s just me, silver! Not a threat, definitely not!”

“I do not wish to speak with you hedgehog. You are to leave. I am not going to stop for any mind games.”

as knuckles throws the punch, silver’s expression hardens, a scowl crossing his face. He’s going to have to calm down his friend somehow. He then holds out his hand, a cyan energy enveloping knuckles’ fist, stopping it in its tracks. “Knuckles, stop! It’s me, silver! We’re friends! I’m not playing any mind games, I promise!”

The Cyan energy starts to cover the entirety of the echidna’s body, silver’s psychokinesis straining to keep him still. “Listen to yourself! I don’t want to leave any of those I care about out of the picture! That’s why I came to you! Just stand down so we can talk this out!”

as silver listened to knuckles speak, he couldn’t help but get the feeling the he was doing something wrong. But he just wanted to help hid friend… so he would. Slowly, the cyan glow around the echidna recedes as silver holds out his hand, a smile on his face. “You don’t have to do everything alone. You don’t have to shield yourself from the rest of the world thinking something might go wrong. You have friends, knuckles. Dozens of friends that have put their trust in you time and time again. Maybe now, you just need to trust them. Trust me.”

silver’s eyes narrow in irritation, barring his teeth in anger. “Are you serious right now?! Are you not going to mention how half the problems on this planet were only solved because you were there? We’ve never tried to betray or downplay you or your responsibility! What’s gotten into you!?” Silver walks closer to knuckles until he’s face to face with the warrior.

silver grabs knuckles’ arm, pulling him back as he tries to talk to him, his voice more sincere. “Do I look like Sonic or tails? I was in the future! I just came back two days ago! Right after whisper, you were the second person I came to see. I just really need your help right now knux. Even if you’re not going to speak, just listen. Please?” Silver asks with a sincere need for help, perhaps even a sliver of sadness in his plea.

silver scratches his head, confused at knuckles’ yelling and accusation of disrespectfulness. “Disrespectful? I’ve done nothing but try my best to respect you this entire conversation! What are you talking about!?”

“Did you not just say I had to sacrifice my people?”

“There is no one else here.”

silver takes a step back as knuckles starts yelling, once again raising his hands, trying to calm the echidna down. “Are you sure? I-I didn’t say anything about your people, it must’ve been someone else!”

“You got one more chance to speak.”

silver takes a long exhale as knuckles allows him to speak, sitting down on one of the steps leading up to the alter, placing his hand on his knee. “Thank you knuckles, genuinely. But… the reason I’m here is because I don’t know why I’m here. As I’m sure you know by now, I’m only brought to the past when something is wrong. But now, I don’t know. At least, I didn’t. Until my talk with whisper.” Silver stands up, walking closer to knuckles, standing face to face with his friend. “She said that starline is back. And that he might be why I’m here. But after everything he’s caused, what could he be plotting that’s so bad, I need to be here?” He places his right hand on his left forearm, rubbing in anxiously. “I’m scared, knuckles. And I don’t know what to do.”

"Ah, so you're the future boy I remember so little about. Didn't leave a lasting impact."

Silver gestured to knuckles then toward the master emerald, pointing to something that should be on top of it. “Knuckles, look! He’s here!” Little did silver know, that he was the only one seeing the doctor.

Knuckles turns, and he’s confused, he then looks back

silver starts to look at starline then back at knuckles, sure that the platypus is right there! He then sighs, knowing knuckles words are. “Yeah, you’re right. But he is there! I’ll just have to deal with him alone.” Silver then starts walking up to the master emerald, determined to end starline’s plans, or so he thinks…

silver stops on his tracks, not wanting to fight knuckles again. He then points behind knuckles, speaking with force. “Knuckles, I can’t just let him take your emerald! Even if you can’t do anything to him, I can! I have to stop him!”

"Silver, Dearie. What you don't understand is just another pawn in my game of chess. Mine to move and manipulate, mine to set the board up how I desire. And how do you expect to win when each piece on your side thinks for themselves? If you all make moves of your own, there's no coherency. Just blunder after blunder until you find yourself in a checkmate."
