synopsis: reader gets trapped in the world of one piece and ends up on the strawhats ship on co
He was close. You could feel the heat radiating off him, and you had to crane your neck just a bit to make eye contact.
âWell? If youâre not going in there, can you move?â Law asked, looking slightly agitated.
You just stared at him, not moving and not responding to his question, frozen. You didnât even know what to say. Panic started to set in.
This was a bad idea I look insanely suspicious right now I donât even know what to-
âHello?â Law said again; that damn attitude. âWhat are you even doing here?â
âUhhhhhhhâ
Fuck it, you still werenât even sure this was real anyways
âI was looking for youâ you said suddenly, before you could really think about it.
âWhy?â he looks a little suspicious.
UmmmmmâŚyea you really did not think that through idiot, not even we can help you right now
âcauseâ you tried, voice trembling a bit.
âBecause?â
You opened your mouth and saidâŚnothing. You were truly at a loss for words, which usually never happened. You wanted to just run away, you could feel yourself about to cry, but for some reason that didnât feel like the right option. You decided to be a little brave as you swallowed down the lump in your throat, hoping that the soft side youâd imagined heâd harbor had some truth.
âIâm sorryâ you blurt, just kind of winging it, now praying this was all in your head
Silence, then a single word
âWhatâ
Law heard you, by the way, heâs just really not used to people apologizing to him.
âIâm sorry for laughing at you yesterdayâ you start, trying to think of a way to explain the situation, voice shaky as hell. âI was just really overwhelmed and I kind of couldnât believe you were actually talking to me cause like, youâre Trafalgar Law the Surgeon of Death, and I know I havenât really explained anything to you yet about the TV show but Luffy just chases you around and you hate it but youâre also his friend??? and your relationship with him is funny and- I donât even know what im trying to say, and-â
Youâre spiraling. Your sentence has no end. Each word you say you start to panic a bit more. You cut yourself off, tears starting to fall
He just looks at you, very confused, and a little worried. It seemed to be his natural state on the Thousand Sunny.
ââŚandâŚI swear none of you were real to me until 18 hours ago and Iâm still so fucking freaked outâŚâ You choked out, letting yourself fully cry now, bringing your arms up to hug yourself. You never cried in front of them yesterday, you didnât even let yourself cry that much in private either, you just seemed more shell shocked.
âI donât know whatâs going on, Iâm still not 100% convinced Iâm awake and I know that my arrival here is absolutely h-horrible timingâ you say through your tears, voice quivering. âBut I promise I didnât mean for any of this to happenâ You plead now, âI donât want to get in your way and screw everything up Iâm sorry, and I pinky promise Iâm not a spy working with Doflamingo *sniff* I fucking hate that guy and I can prove it, so p-please donât knock me out and throw me off the ship in the nightâ you sobbed out, looking down at the floor.
Law is shocked. He is so bad at dealing with feelings, he doesnât even deal with his own. He just stands there like an idiot while his brain malfunctions.
âHow did she know I suggested that? UGH strawhat canât keep his mouth shut for shit I shouldâve known. What am I supposed to even do here does she expect me to hug her or something? I-I canât help her with thisâ The gears are turning in his head as he tries to analyze the situation
You continue crying for a minute in front of him, sinking down to sit on the floor, forgetting heâs there and letting yourself descend into the chaos that is your current mental state. Honestly, youâre surprised you had held it together at breakfast and with the girls. It all felt so surreal, and you were barely hanging on. You didnât even know what the plan was when you went to talk to Law, you didnât know anything at all. You bury your hands in your face and lean your head back against the door in frustration, only to instantly recoil in a startling pain. You let out a yelp and your hand flew to the back of your head, your tears stopping as the sharp pain rippled across the touch as well. You cried out, God damn that hurt.
Lawâs thoughts stopped instantly. He recognized that sound, that motion. Pain. He didnât know how to help with emotional pain but physical pain? He knew exactly how to make that situation better.
âWhat happenedâ He asked about the reaction, not out of concern, but to assess the medical situation at handâŚonly the situation at handâŚ
âMy head really hurtsâ you mutter out, eyes still filled with tears
Nothing for a moment
âStand upâ
It wasnât a question
You look up at him; heâs extending his arm out to you.
You donât move for a beat, you just look at him while you cradle your head, confused by his intentions.
âCâmonâ he says, slightly impatient, hand still extended. âI need to look at your head againâ
His eyes soften the tiniest bit. You donât notice.
âWhyâ you questioned as a tear slips down your face.
Heâs annoyed again but doesnât like the way his chest tightened at seeing your sad and fearful eyes looking up at him; it felt wrong.
âWhat do you mean why?â
âYouâre a pirateâ you say, âand you think Iâm a traitorâ. âYou have no reason to help me; it would be in your favor to just leave me, wouldnât it?â you ponder aloud, voice thick with tears. It wasnât in character for him to help someone he suspected or helpâŚanyone that wasnât his crew at all really; Luffy was a rare exception.
He groaned and rubbed his temples as he cursed Luffy out in his head once more for even telling you. He spoke again after a moment, voice soft but still laced with irritation
âI know youâre not a spy, okay? Now, let me help you get up so I can check your head againâŚplease.â He grumbled out, the please at the end said a little quieter than the rest.
Your brain can barely process anything right now but hearing the confirmation you didnât have to fight to be believed anymore made you calm down enough to take his hand and stand up. One less thing to figure out.
He moved to open the door behind you, leaning over you just a bit; your breath hitches ever so slightly.
You blame it on the panic attack.
The door opens and he motions for you to go inside, him following behind. You walk into the library and kind of just stand there for a second, not really knowing what to do. Itâs dimly lit and smells like old books and the ocean, a scent that helps further calm your senses. He pulled out the chair from the desk and turned the lamp on, gesturing for you to sit down. So, you do
âCan you take your bandana off?â He asks, voice calm and steady
You do so, reaching to slide it off the back of your head, your hair falling out onto your shoulders.
âIâm going to be lifting and moving your hair around while I check your head like I did yesterday, ok?â
You nod, not saying anything. Your mind was still reeling from the breakdown you just had; you werenât really paying attention to him.
He split your hair into two, gently moving it over your shoulders. He then puts his hands in your hair, carefully threading his fingers through and splitting sections to look at your scalp. The motion had been quite calming to your frantic thoughts; you felt a bit like a live wire right now. You subconsciously relaxed into his touch, and deep breaths started to become possible again.
Meanwhile Laws alarm bells are going off. Right in the center of your head, sprawling across the back, is one of the nastiest fucking bruises heâs ever seen. Your head did NOT look like this yesterday when he checked it, even Chopper said you looked like youâd be okay.
âIt mustâve developed over night while she sleptâ Law thought to himself, continuing his search to see how large the bruise was. He couldnât see the full extent through your follicles, and he didnât want to pull your hair too much.
âWhat happened again?â He asked, trying to conclude how you couldâve smacked your head this hard.
âI told you, I hit my head when I fell into the mirror yesterdayâ you spoke, voice barely above a whisper
âThat doesnât make any sense, why would it be on the back of your head if you fell into the mirrorâ he realized.
âWell, the mirror kind of fellâŚinto meâ
â..Howâ
You told him the story, remembering you never did, and he just looked absolutely floored.
âYouâŚwhatâ
âYea and my head hit the floor before I went through, I was kinda pressed between the two I guess-
âWHY wouldnât you tell me that? That is completely different from knocking your head, youâve suffered a traumatic head injury, do you know the velocity you were falling at? Youâre lucky that portal opened I-â He was scolding you, and you flinched at his tone, causing him to stop short.
âYeahâŚI knowâ you said, voice even quieter.
He felt like a dick. He changed his approach
âI need to use my powers on youâ he said, calmer this time.
âUhhhhâ you say, nervousness creeping into you. âWhy?â
âThe bruise on the back of your head needs immediate medical attention; thereâs blood pooling back there. You could slip into a coma if I donât operate now.â
That makes you chuckle a little, finding it kinda funny; your sick mind found his words extremely, extremely ironic.
âIt might be too late for thatâŚI think Iâve already slipped into oneâ you say, turning towards him. You raise your eyebrows and smirk; your eyes stained with tears giving way to your true state.
âHeh? Get it??â You chided weakly, pointing finger guns at him and making little pew pew motions.
Yea. He needed to operate now.
âI need you to be serious for a moment.â He says in response, a little exasperated
âThis is me being serious, I canât stand tense situations for too longâ you say, quieter.
âDoesâŚit hurt?â you asked after a moment, looking at him again, a little more vulnerable than you wanted to.
He softened once more. You did notice this time.
âNo, it doesnât, I promiseâ he said, tone reassuring. âIt wonât take long either, Iâm just going to relocate the blood thatâs pooling there and heal the damaged brain tissues.â
You thought about it for a moment before nodding your head slowly, turning back around and taking a deep breath
âOkayâ
Itâs still for a moment, then he activates his powers
âRoomâ
In an instant you were enveloped inside his bubble, everything outside of it looked a little distorted as the energy it emitted hummed quietly. Law once again placed his hands back on your head, before speaking another command.
âScalpelâ
You couldnât see what he was doing, but you could feel it. The pressure in the back of your head started to ease, slowly but steadily. You felt an immediate relief as the once sharp pain had now faded into a soft ache. You didnât even realize how badly your head had hurt, too caught up in a million other things whilst trying to keep your composure. You sighed out in relief, and a steady calm started to bloom deep inside you.
After a few moments he had finished and closed the bubble. You reached your head up to feel where the pain once festered, surprised to find you felt nothing at all. You turned around to look at him once more, eyes wide in shock.
âDoes everything feel okay?â he asked, eyes analyzing you in a clinical manner, making sure you didnât have any more ailments.
âY-Yes the pains completely goneâŚthank you so muchâ you respond. You had always seen him perform medical miracles on screen but experiencing it for real left you a little awestruck.
He nodded his head
âItâs what I doâ
It was quiet for a beat as he had moved to sit down on the couch, across from the desk. You were feeling better, the lack of attention paid to your tears helped them dissipate and you started thinking clearly again. You hated crying in front of other people, and it was even worse when someone commented on it or tried to hug you. You found it quite comforting that he ignored it completely and focused on something else.
âIâm sorry you saw thatâŚâ you say, voice barely above a whisper
âItâs been a lot all at once, and Iâm just not totally convinced everythingâs okay with meâ you finish before looking down at the floor.
He wracks his brain looking for any response, coming up short. I mean, he gets it, he guesses he would be scared if he was you too but that doesnât mean the right words are going to just pop into his head, and heâs smart enough to know that those ones arenât right either.
His logical and awkward brain can only recall his medical training right now, different procedures and illnesses bouncing around in his mind, listing symptoms of some disorder to calm himself. Wait a minuteâŚ
He stands up and grabs the clock thatâs sitting behind you on the desk.
âDoes this look like the clocks in your world?â
ââŚYea?â you say, brows furrowing in confusion.
âWhat time is itâ
â12:45??â you reply as if it was obvious.
âOkay then. youâre awake.â He responded as if it was equally obvious
You stare at him, not getting it.
ââŚWhatâ
âThereâs a multitude of things that you cannot understand or grasp when youâre in a coma, the concept of time is one of them. People that have woken from comas couldnât recall ever recall how much time had passed and had never seen a clock. Besides, people in comas donât ever think theyâre trapped in one, thereâs not enough constant brain activity for you to process things like thatâ
âReally?â you say, voice small but hopeful
âYea, the chemicals that are released when the brain lapses into a coma create a mental state that- he goes on to explain exactly how your brain worked under a coma caused by injury, getting very specific. He got lost in it a little, his eyes focused as he carefully detailed all the medical ways you couldnât possibly be experiencing one.
It reminded you of your therapist. She always broke down how anxiety and all the things that came along with it worked in a scientific way, the idea becoming less overwhelming and scary when you learned about the chemicals that are being released in response to various stimuli and such. That calming feeling that had begun to flower when Law fixed your injury started to deepen, the confirmation you werenât trapped in some dream felt like a gasp of fresh air, something solid for your brain to accept as truth, as reality.
âAs long as you can tell me the order of events that happened yesterday, and read the new time again, you scientifically couldnât be experiencing some lucid dream or coma, understand?â
You nodded, proceeding to do so correctly, which earned you a small smile. Rare, from the moodiest man alive.
âGood. Thereâs nothing wrong with you then, besides your seemingly twisted sense of humorâ he chided ever so lightly. You smiled at the quip and then spoke again; a new wave of confidence had rushed back with the rest of your mind coming together.
âSoooâŚwhat made you change your mind about me?â you asked, a questioning look appearing on your face.
He tenses a bit.
âI just didâ
âDid you realize you hadnât slept in days and were probably being paranoid?â You question, a teasing lilt in your voice. You knew he wouldnât have just randomly changed his mind about you, and you know nobody couldâve convinced him otherwise unless he found proof.
You want to know how he found out.
He looked a little bothered at your question. Good.
âI sleep just fineâ he lied through his teeth âand I wasnât being paranoid; I was being cautiousâ he defended
âOh please, if you lived in my world, you would 100% be an insomniac ridden medical student that lives off instant ramen and red bull, sleeps three hours a night, and works the day shifts at like, McDonalds in between your internships or something. I think Iâve drawn a picture of it before.â You chuckled at yourself. You knew he didnât know what some of those things were, but you didnât care, you knew you were spot on.
âWhat did you do, sneak into my room and read my âjournalâ or something?â you added casually, not really caring if he did or didnât, knowing you had left it out in a ship full of pirates. You had nothing to hide after all.
Besides, you had kind of been unknowingly stalking them for the past 2 years of their lives, so you couldnât really get mad if one of them did it in return.
Listen, you werenât stupid by any means. And you werenât some helpless woman either. You were very inquisitive and quick to question and break down situations; you didnât like what you didnât understand. You may have been questioning your sanity for a little bit like anyone would, but the core of you was still functioning true. You also hated the feeling of not being in control, which you realized quickly you had a rare opportunity to gain here.
Law looked uneasy. He hadnât gone into your room, but he didnât really want to say how he knew, knowing what you would think.
âNoâŚI uh, saw you with Cesarâ he revealed hesitantly, sighing the words out in defeat.
âOkay?â you said. âHow did that make you change your mind?â
âWell, Cesar is a very powerful ally to Doflamingo. If he had sent someone to infiltrate the ship and they were able to successfully disarm everyoneâs suspicion of them even for a night, they wouldâve been able to free Cesar and take us down from the inside. Cesar bested us in Punk Hazard once before, and a sneak attack on our turf wouldâve ensured their success a second time; we wouldâve been stopped before we ever had the chance to step foot in Dressrosa.â He explained his thought process. You listened intently, completely following, though a strange thought had begun to form. He continued
âI knew when you left him alone after interacting with him, you had nothing to do with the DonQuixote family, it just didnât add up. He also didnât know who you were, and Doflamingo wouldnât have sent some lackey to do this job.â He finished off. He was sitting forward with his hands folded over his lap as he talked, his tired and sharp eyes looking into your slightly red and puffy ones.
He had neglected to tell you thatâs when he also ran into Robin who had come out of your room and confirmed your story with him. He walked away wondering who or what a Mazda was, and how they could have cut something off you in a town or place called traffic???You had all your body parts still. Anyways, he had let the thought go. He showered and was just going to act like heâd never said it at all, and was even going to try and sleep some until you were right there breaking down in front of him about it. Thanks, Luffy.
You thought for a long moment before you spoke
âHmmmâŚâ you said looking up contemplatively, your hand on your chin. âWell, Iâm glad that you came to your senses that does make me feel a lot better, buuuuutâ you trailed off
âBut what?â Law asked.
âWe need to do something about this spyâ you frowned slightly, fucking with him just a little
Law looked at you, already nervous and not enjoying that look in your eye.
âWhatâŚspyâ he asks cautiously, feeling like he already knew the answer.
âWell, you, of courseâ you said plainly, gesturing to him
He did not answer this time. Instead, he just looked at you like you were holding him at gunpoint and waited for you to explain yourself
âThat room was at the end of a hallway and there was only one way to turn to get back to the main corridor; I definitely donât remember seeing you anywhere near meâ you said, a playful lilt in your voice. âIâm assuming youâve been stalking me sinceâŚlast night actually, not sleeping fine, to make sure I didnât go and free Cesar, right?â
Law now looked extremely nervous, the tips of his ears turning pink realizing that yea, you werenât an idiot, and in attempt to prove you were the spy, he had become the spy.
He had ducked into the storage closet he was using as a hideout when you turned around to walk in the correct direction. And yea, he was most definitely walking between your room and Cesars holding spot all night, not sleeping a wink.
âI uhâŚâ he stumbled out, not knowing what to say to that. Mans was flustered as hell having been read so clearly. He hated that feeling and hated being known so well. Not even Beppo could read him like that. Your story really was true.
âI was dead on wasnât Iâ you smiled and nodded at him knowingly, quite enjoying seeing him like this. Awkward Law was your favorite after all, and you had him right where you wanted him.
Thankfully he didnât have to think of a response (he wouldnât have had anything anyways), because you kept going.
âItâs okayâ you said with a reassuring smile âI get it. I probably wouldâve thought and done the same thing if I was you, given the current situation you guys are in.â You really did show up right before a certified shitshow; the stakes were high.
Law relaxed a fraction upon hearing you agree with him, glad to not have freaked you out too much, but still embarrassed that he had to tell you at all. He swears heâs not a weirdo.
âSo, with that said, I say we make an allianceâ you finished off casually, having thought about how to fix all this.
Law looked at you for a second, deep in thought before he replied
âThereâs already an alliance between usâ
âNooo, the Heart pirates and the Straw-hat pirates have an alliance, and the last time I checked, Iâm not a straw-hat.â You corrected, raising your eyebrow as you looked yourself up and down.
Oh, right. He hadnât thought of it like that honestly, knowing that you were going to be sticking around due to Luffyâs eager determination to keep you with him and solve your âmysteryâ; along with his complete unwillingness to listen to anyone, ever. Like I said he had just given up and was going to let you be, something he found himself doing often these past few days on this ship.
âWhile I absolutely promise you can trust meâ you started âI am still in a precarious situation with already knowing about you and future events here and having incidentally become someone that could still make you uneasy or be deemed untrustworthy. Just âcause Luffy doesnât seem to care about it doesnât mean you donât, and I think a Captain such as yourself deserves to make your own choice whether to trust me or not.â You explained, appealing to his ego the absolute teeniest, tiniest bit. You may be in a different world, but men were still men at the end of the day.
Heâs a little taken aback. He didnât expect you to be soâŚrational and, quite frankly diplomatic. Heâs a little impressed. Heâd been away from his crew for so long that he hadnât really felt like a Captain for a while now, just himself. Plus, itâs hard not to change your way of thinking around Luffy, he was extremely dominant whether he was aware of it or not. He still doesnât say anything, but you can tell heâs thinking about it.
âSo, do we have a deal? I promise wonât betray you, and you can actually get some sleep and stop stalking me in the nightâ You smile, that teasing tone reappearing just for a moment as you held your hand out, an invitation to seal the deal.
He grumbles at your statement but after a moment reaches his hand out to shake yours; Bada-bing, Bada-boom. Your first pirate alliance.
âDeal.â He says relenting, giving your hand a tired but firm handshake. His tattooed hand connecting with yours made your mind fuzzy for a moment, having been aware enough now to realize he was touching you, and having dreamed of those hands touching you even once in your little life.
âWhat did I look like in your drawing?â He asks right after, now pondering on the statement you had made about him if he were to live in your world, making your blush deepen instantly as you broke the handshake and pulled back.
You thought for a minute before you realized you could just redraw it really fast. You were an exceptional artist; you had just gotten into one of the most prestigious art schools in the world, and you were going to be moving to New York next month to start school.
If you could ever get back
You turned around to the desk and grabbed the notebook that was there and looked around for a pencil. You immediately started drawing his alternate version self, and, deciding to show a comparison, drew him in his world in the same way.
The picture was of Law sitting at a desk in scrubs and a clipped-on name tag with a stack of medical books surrounding him as ran one of his hands through his hair, the other grabbing the side of his laptop. You had perfectly captured his overstimulated aura, and for the bit, you added a red bull and a bag with the McDonalds logo on it, a 6 piece sitting on top of a stacks of books with some sauce.
Your other picture was of the same scene, but of him in his office youâd assumed heâd had on the Polar Tang, replacing the items from your world with his. You turned around and handed them to him.
He analyzed them for a moment and looked quite impressed to see how much detail you had done in such little time for both drawings. You couldnât help but feel a little proud at his reaction.
âTheyâre the same picture, rightâ you teased and he looked up at you with a little bit of awe, and a whole lot of curiosity.
âSo thatâs red bull?â he pointed at the little can you had drawn
âYep, itâs an energy drink, itâs like coffee, but waaay worse for you, and more processedâ you laugh, amused at his immediate questioning
âProcessed?â
âYea, a lot of food and drinks in my world are mass produced by these crazy huge businesses since we all live so close together, and they put a lot of chemicals, and God knows what else in what we consume so it lasts longer during its journey to our markets and restaurants.â
Heâs utterly fascinated, and a little disgusted. He goes on
âAnd what isâŚthis McDonalds I would work at?
âItâs one of the restaurants that probably have some of the most processed food youâll ever eat in your life. Itâs one you can find all over our world, like I said mass produced, and its fast food so you can pull your car around, get something, and go. Itâs usually filled with 20 something year olds who are either waiting to finish school and get a real job or have no future theyâre excited forâ You explained.
âWhatâs a car?â He fires instantly, processing everything rapidly and trying to get a better picture of how you live.
âWoah there Mr. Twenty Questionsâ you stopped him. âIâm going to explain most of this stuff soon once I finish my little presentation. You can ask as many questions as you want; if I donât already answer them, later.â You chided.
âOne more question.â Law says. You give in and nod for him to continue, and he does, more seriously this time.
âWhat was your proofâ
Youâre taken aback, not expecting that question
âWhatâ
âEarlier, you said you could prove you werenât working with Doflamingo. If I hadnât seen you with Cesar earlier and known it was true already, what would you have told me to convince me?
Your mind erupted with a million examples you couldâve used, not even really knowing what you were going to say to him when you had blurted that out earlier. You knew what you wanted to say, but relaying the final words of his childhood friend/brother figure to him could cause him to freak again. You knew he probably hadnât talked about Corazon with anyone in years. After a moment, an idea popped into your head and you turned around and started sketching again, hands moving rapidly. He looked over your shoulder a bit to see what you were doing but you âtskedâ at him and he stopped. You drew a few pictures before turning around and looking at him, nervousness in your eyes.
âAre you ready?â you asked him
He nodded, seemingly composed, but the look in his eyes gave him away instantly.
You flipped over the first 2 pictures and he flinched. Drawn on the first one was Law as a child, looking angsty as ever, the patches of white that had spread through him because of his sickness ever apparent. The second picture was of Corazon, in all his glory. You had taken a little longer to get the details just right, knowing it was probably the first time heâd seen his face since he was a child.
Law grabbed Corazonâs picture from you wordlessly, his eyes scanning the image rapidly, and you can tell the memories are coming back. You continue, voice soft
âThese arenât the proofâ you start. âI know Doffy knew what you looked like back then, these are for you.â you then flipped over the third picture you had drawn and Law went pale.
âThis, is my proof.â
In your hands, you had drawn the last time that Law saw Corazon alive, a still straight from the TV show, of Corazon smiling with his hand up, blood running down his face, as he tells Law that he loves him. You donât say anything more, knowing that he knew there was no way Doflamingo couldâve witnessed this, and not wanting to freak him out more than he seemed. You have never seen this side of him before on the show, the complete and utter shock had taken over. That was probably one of the most defining and painful moments of his life, and you just redrew it with perfect accuracy.
Yea, no way sheâs a spy he thought. Sheâs a goddamn witch.
He dropped the paper he was holding and reached out for the one you had. He stared at it once more, the same expression on his face as before. He softly reached out to touch the picture, a soft and almost longing action, and your heart clenched at the sight.
âIsâŚis this enough?â you asked cautiously, not wanting to startle him.
He nodded after a moment, not looking up from the picture. He was shaking. You swear you thought you saw a tear fall, but you were definitely not going to say anything about that to anyone as long as you lived.
When he finally spoke it was soft, softer than youâd ever heard it. you almost missed what he said
âThank youâ he started slowly
âIâŚI never thought Iâd see his face again. I had started to forget what he looked like, heâs exactly as I rememberâ he finished, before his eyes finally tore away from the paper to meet yours. You found nothing behind them except pure gratitude laced with a deep longing for a time he cannot return to.
âItâs what I doâ you said, mirroring his response from earlier, not knowing how to accept compliments very well, especially not ones this deep.
He exhaled hard enough from his nose that it could be perceived as a laugh if you knew the circumstance in which it was uttered. He continued, voice a little steadier, but barely.
âYouâre definitely not working for Doflamingo, thatâs for sure, but, uhâ he struggled to say the last part of his sentence
âYea, itâs still, really weird, I know.â You finish for him.
âI need you to understand that Iâm just as confused as you about all of this, though. If I had known you were real people living real lives that were completely unaware of us watching you, I never wouldâve watched the show. Your story and lives are just a small part of my daily life, something that I watch and read for entertainment purposes. I never truly imagined I would be standing here right now.âÂ
âPeople always say they want to live in this world or other âfantasy worldsâ, which, now that I think about it, all of those other worlds could be real too and we just canât get there,â you go off track for a second as you ponder aloud, âBut I donât think people realize how scary theyâd end up looking to everyone, just showing up knowing everything about people who have never seen them in their lives.â You say, gesturing to the air to use your current situation as an example.
Law nodded his head, kind of understanding what you were saying.
âThatâs why I wanted to create an alliance with you. I realized that even though I knew I could prove I wasnât from this world, you would recognize that I really did have extremely sensitive intel into major events that play out here. I was scared it would make you think I was a threat to you still, and Iâm really, really not. Iâm just a woman whoended up in some insane situation, and who really wants to know why this happened.â You finished, pleading with him a little at the end.
Law looked at you for a moment while he thought, extremely impressed by the way you carried yourself. Your self-awareness and the way you spoke so assuredly, every word chosen carefully, and quickly. I mean, you were able to back him into a verbal corner and get a confession out of him, which was extremely rare.
Meanwhile you were starting to get nervous again about his lack of response, worried that he was going to change his mind or something. He broke you from your spiral when he spoke again, only to utter a single word.
âOkay.â
âOkay?â
âYea. Iâll help you figure out what happened. This is still weirdâ he says, lifting the picture in his hand, âbut I believe you, youâre not a threat.â he finished, nodding his head as if to officially decide he was cool with it.
You let out a breath you didnât know you had been holding, extremely relieved for this to finally be over with. you smiled and laughed a sweet laugh of relief as you stood up.
âThank GOD thatâs over wow, I donât think Iâve ever been in a situation that tense in my lifeâ you think, lightening up immediately for his sake. You can tell heâs still affected from seeing Corazon again, and you think itâs probably time to leave to go work on your own stuff.
âThank you again for fixing me up, and for hearing me outâ you say, an appreciative smile on your face as you pull the list out that Robin gave you.
âDo you have anymore questions you want to add?â you asked as you handed it to him. He did, actually, scribbling some down and handing it back to you. He tried to hand back the pictures you drew but you stopped him.
âKeep themâ you said. âI know you donât have many memories of him and your childhood; this is the least I could do to make up for all the weirdness that came along with my presence.â
Law is not used to people being soft to him. He has Beppo and his crew and theyâre his family of course, but heâs still their captain and he has a lot of walls up that prevent situations from getting too sappy around there. Heâs not used to this feeling of being seen and cared about by someone. Itâs the same way he feels around Luffy which is why he acts so awkward all the time. You notice his hesitance, so you take the papers from his hand, nodding your head slightly as if to say âItâs okayâ and put them face down on the desk for him, leaving them there in case he wants to look at them later. With that, you turn to make your leave. You approached the door before you leave, you glanced behind you and saw that he was still looking at you, a little entranced. You smirked and fully turned around before deciding to make one more little joke
âTry and get some sleep, stalkerâ
He instantly flustered again, and before he could respond in defense, you laughed and walked out the door; getting the reaction you wanted.
You took a second to yourself in the hallway now, taking a few deep breaths and recollecting your racing mind. You left the conversation with two victories, an agreement with Law and a comforting confirmation this was all real. All that you had to do now was answer their questions and figure out how to get home, which had like, sub goals but youâll figure that out. You remember that Luffy wanted you to come find him, and that he had something for you. With your new objective in mind, you made your way out of the hallway, now heading toward the place you knew heâd most likely be.
The figurehead, of course.
Authors note: I hope you liked it! I couldn't think of a believable way that reader could approach Law without crying honestly cause that what i would do when i realized i wanted to go confront a man that could take my heart out and kill me or whatever. I think it works though i'll update soon kisses xoxo i'll be moving through bigger sections of time soon i just need the exposition to get laid

I want Benn Beckmann soooo bad ugh like imagine when you joined the crew he fell for you instantly. You were alluring and a total wildcard and he liked that and he wanted you all to himself, but Shanks got to you first, seeing what he had seen in you too. And what the captain wants, the captain gets. And so, for the next couple years, Benn was forced to watch the girl of his most secret and private fantasies cling to the arm of his best friend.
It drove him nuts.
He loved Shanks like a brother, but knowing he was the one holding you, protecting you, fucking you made him wildly jealous, and he was never one to care for that type of stuff before.
Wildly jealous for Benn is subtle, though. Heâs not going to go crazy but thereâs definitely signs. He naturally became more protective over you, using Shanks as an excuse to guard you and be near you when he wasnât around. âShanksâll have my head if I donât keep you safe in all this chaosâ or something along those lines. Everytime. And the way that no one could get close to you at the bars when Shanks wandered off for a moment, Benn naturally took his place and kept you company until he returned, warding off unwanted advances from creeps
He always had a joint rolled for you too, and a cigarette, knowing that youâd always come to him at some point, calling his name sweetly and asking with the most innocent eyes you could muster. âBenny, can you pleeeeease spare a joint for meâ youâd say with a small pout. Heâd never show it, but he melts at the sight every time. His thoughts will turn dirty for a moment as heâd imagine coming all over your beautiful face as you pumped your hand on his cock just right, the fantasy changing everytime. Sometimes, to keep you close, heâll pretend heâs on his last one but offers to share with you, which you accept every time without fail, moving to sit next to him while giggling. He ached a bit knowing all he wanted to do was take you back to his room after you smoked and show you how much you drove him crazy, show you how good he could make you feel.
He could hear you with Shanks. You werenât exactly quiet and Shanks wasnât inexperienced. Losing an arm did not slow that man down for a second. Heâd linger in the hallway, listening to your sweet gasps and whines as his friendâs name rolls off your tongue, wishing that it was him who could be touching you, hearing his name out of your sweet mouth, willing to give up anything for just one night. And sometimes he swears you feel the same way, the lingering glances across the crowded bars the crew frequents in between islands, your gaze strong and a little smug as you take a drag from your cigarette, smoke curling around your lips. Almost as if daring him to come over there. And the way your touch will linger as you two pass the joint around in a comfortable silence, your silence, enjoying the presence of one another.
One time, Shanks fucked up. It wasnât too bad, but you were pissed and hurt nonetheless and one late night while you were up ruminating over the situation, Benn appeared with a joint and a bottle of whiskey.
You two talked for hours, moving on from your issue with Shanks quite quickly and just chatting with him about life and the past and everything. You ended up falling asleep leaning on him, and he stayed there as long as he could before he gently moved you to lay on the bench where you two had sat, leaving you alone. He didnât think it would look good to have Shanksâs girl sleeping in his arms while they were in a fight.
Deep, deep down he had prayed that you two would split, as horrible as that sounded, but he didnât care really. He had tried to get over you, so many times. He had slept with other women and even avoided you for a few months, but nothing worked, and he saw how sad you had gotten. He just kept coming back to you. You of course, forgave Shanks for his transgressions, his charisma and charm were extremely useful tools after all. Plus, he really did love and care for you, you werenât just some hookup, and Benn recognized how rare that was for his friend, which is why he just dealt with his feelings and bit his tongue. That still didnât change the way he felt though.
The stars were to align for Benn quite soon though, after him and Shanks were out at some bar on some island once more, drinking the place dry. You were asleep in Shankâs lap, straddling him and hugging him close as you used his cloak as a sort of blanket, making yourself quite cozy. The rest of the crew and even the bartender had left, having just left the bottles they had left in stock on the bar for them and heading home for the night. They were being quite rowdy at some points in their chat, though that didnât disturb your sleep in the slightest, having been very drunk yourself and used to the antics that they display frequently.
âsoâ shanks says taking a swig of his drink âwhen are we going to talk about itâ
âTalk about what?â Benn questions, taking a drag from his joint
âAbout the way you look at my girlâ he smirked, not sounding mad at all, more amused
Benn took a looong drag from his joint, held it in just long enough the edges of his vision blurred, fully exhaled, coughed, and then looked at Shanks to respond
âYouâre seeing things bubâ he said cooly, no nervousness in his voice at all. Shanks laughed at that, one of his belly laughs. You stirred a bit and he moved his arm to wrap around you, petting your back soothingly.
âYou only use that nickname when you feel guilty, bubâ Shanks threw back quickly after recovering. âItâs okay, I donât care, Iâm open to sharing if ya want.â He shrugged.
Benn looked at him for a moment before putting his j in the ash tray and taking a swig of his drink.
âYouâre wastedâ
âYea, so what? Iâd say it sober too, if I ever wasâ Shanks joked again, acting as if he wasnât casually offering up his girlfriend to his first mate right now.
âWhatâs the catch?â Benn asked now, the teensiest flicker of hope that this was real washed over him.
âNo catch, I swearâ Shanks crossed his heart and hoped to die, looks like someone already scratched his eye! âOne night with her, I see the way she looks at you too Iâm not stupid. I know sheâs faithful, but I also know how she is. Gotta let my girl have some fun too, ya know? He jested again, still ever so casual about all this. This cannot have been the first time a situation like this has happened, Benn thought
âDid she mention anything to you?â Benn asked
âNah but Iâll run it past her when sheâs awake and recovered tomorrow, I have a feeling I know what sheâll say though. Shanks brings his hand up to run his fingers through your hair a few times, looking down at you affectionately. âSo, what do you say, you want my girl, Beck?â He now grabs his drink and holds it out to him, and invitation seal the deal.
He absolutely did. And if Shanks was going to give him the opportunity, he sure as hell was not going to waste it. He knew this was possibly his only chance to have you in the ways that he so desperately dreamed. He grabbed his cup and held it up before asking one more time.
âOne night?â
âOne night. And remember Beck, sheâs still my girl, donât forget itâ
Trust him, he wouldnât. That thought had painfully bounced around his head every day for the past two years of his life.
Benn nodded before they clinked glasses once, officially agreeing to what anyone would call, pimping your girlfriend out to your best friend (You want it too donât worry). He chugged the rest of his drink before standing up, grabbing the rest of his joint from the ashtray and making his leave for the night, leaving you and Shanks as he headed back towards the ship.
His every last nerve was on fire at the conversation heâd just had, relighting his joint and smirking to himself as he smoked. His mind was racing with all the things he was going to do to you, as soon as he got the chance.

The table goes silent in an instant, their eyes all coming to stare at a particular individual, in shock.
âWhy would you even say something like that?!â
Nami exclaimed, putting down her fork and glaring at the person across from her. It was breakfast time for the Straw-Hats, and someone was riling her up quite early this morning. You had not stirred when Robin came to check on you, so she let you sleep, deciding that you needed the rest.
âCalm down, Iâm just sayingâ the voice argued back, âitâs just an option. You donât think itâs odd that she just happened to show up right after we allied and planned to go after Doflamingo? The man questioned, matching her glare.
âI donât think we should trust her, Iâm telling you; you saw how weird her reactions were to my questions, she knows somethingâ he continued.
âUhh of course she does, she said flat out said she did. I think youâre still mad that she laughed at you last nightâ Nami smirked and took a sip of her drink.
She was arguing with none other than Trafalgar Law, who scowled in response to her comment.
âYea and she said I won the fight against Doffy remember?â Luffy piped in, mouth full of pancakes, brows turned downward in slight confusion.
âBesides, she didnât seem like she had a clue what was going on. Iâve never seen someone that disoriented beforeâ Sanji chimed in. âIf she really was some undercover agent working for Doffy, then why couldnât she even believe she was standing in front of us? He challenged, lighting his cigarette.
âShe could obviously just be using that as a ploy to distract us from reaching him or throw us off our guard for some attack theyâre planning.â Law rubbed his temples, sounding agitated. âHow have you not thought of this already?â
âThatâs dumbâ Zoro spoke, his first words of the day.
ââŚwhatâ
âThatâsâŚdumb.â He said slower. âSheâs not working for Doflamingo, it doesnât make sense.â
âHow do you knowâ
âJust do.â He shrugged
âSo, you just trust her instantly right off the bat?â Law raised his eyebrows in disbelief, crossing his arms
âDidnât say thatâ
âSo, what are you sayingâ Usopp cuts in, knowing by the tone of his voice heâs got a point, and not just talking to talk.
âIâm saying that weâre wasting time talking about the wrong thingsâ Zoro grumbled, starting to get a little agitated. âAnd we donât have enough informationâ
Everyone looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to explain more.
âLike Luffy said, she already knows the outcome of this battle, right? Plus, Nami just said she knows everything about us and what will happen to us for the next few months. Thatâs a little more alarming than her being a part of Doflamingoâs crew, donât you think?â he crossed his arms.
Everyone went silent.
âTo me, it sounds like Doffy is a part of this âTV showâ too, which means this is bigger than him entirely; heâs being watched just like the rest of us.â
oh right.
That.
âWhat I want to know is how long our lives have somehow been broadcast in another world, for millions of people to see.â Zoro finished as he leaned back in his chair.
No one spoke for a moment. The thought of their lives being viewed for years, with no idea what personal moments had been on display, sent chills through their spines once more. They had so many questions.
Except for Luffy.
Luffy still didnât care. He just continued eating, starting to take off everyoneâs plates when he noticed that they hadnât been touched for a while.
He had never been too interested in the beginning of confusing mysteries, preferring to step in when the goals become more obvious, like when someone needed a good beating. Too many questions to think about; Thatâs what Robin is for!
He also wasnât particularly interested in knowing what you knew about their future; That was part of the adventure for him. Like he told Rayleigh, he refuses to have a boring adventure. What he was currently interested in was the way you looked at him when you two were talking in the hall last night though.
It made him feelâŚummmm, he didnât really know, but it was weird and new, he decided.
He didnât hate it.
Robin spoke first, breaking the tension that had gathered amongst the rest of the crew
âI might have found something that can help us move in the right direction atleastâ she reveals, pulling out an old book with a worn black cover on it. âThe title disappeared over the years, but it seems to be in pretty good condition still. I stayed up last night and searched the library for anything useful that could give us clues.â
She flipped open the book to the middle, where a map was drawn. It was Earth, and it had been labeled as such, as well as all the continents. The top of the page read: Ruthieâs hideout
They all crowded around the book as they analyzed the picture. Nami absorbed the details of the map, recognizing the name.
âThatâs definitely the planet she said she lived on...â she started. âBut whoâs Ruthie? And why is it labeled as her hideout?â
âI was wondering the same thingâ Robin responded. âThe book doesnât mention her by name again.â
âWell what does the rest of the book say?â Law urged on, growing impatient.
âItâs not a formal book so much as a journal kept by someone long ago,â she stated, eyes sparkling with curiosity.
âA few of the pages had some information about Earth, but nothing more than what our new friend had told us already.â âAlso, some pages have been ripped out so I canât say for sure what was on those; the rest were filled with frantically scribbled ideas and passing thoughtsâ She continued, âThis does prove that someone in our world knows about this place though, and we can conclude from the title of the page that someone named Ruthie was hiding out there at some point in time.â
âWe also know that the mirror is a portal between our worlds because thatâs how ______ arrived, so we can safely assume that this is how Ruthie may have gotten there as well, and whoever wrote this may be the original inventor. They may have even created the show. But I donât know much more than that, and considering the mirror is broken, I wouldnât be able to pull anything conclusive off itâ
âHow mysteriousâ Franky pondered, scratching his head. âDoes it say who wrote the book?â
âNot that I know, none of the pages are signed and if it was on the cover, it likely disappeared with the title over the years.â
âSo, we donât have anything but more questionsâ Usopp said. âGreeeeeeat.â He slumped back down in his chair, only to realize his entire plate of food had been stolen.
âUnfortunately, youâre correct.â Robin said, not sounding at all disappointed as Usopp whacked Luffy in the background and fought with him over a piece of bacon. Robin liked a good mystery.
âAnd the one who may know the most about this, might not be in a state to handle such questioning yet.â She finished, ignoring their antics completely as Luffy body slammed Usopp, not missing a beat.
âWell, what if ______ knows a Ruthie? That would sure help a lotâ Chopper adds on, also ignoring the fight.
Robin pondered for a moment. âThat could be possible, but I fear that asking her such a question could cause her to spiral once again, especially if she does recognize the nameâ Robin responded thoughtfully, worried about losing any progress you may have made in the night. Thatâs not a state she can get conclusive answers from after all.
Nami breaks up the boys up in the background, whacking them both on the head.
Luffy recovers fast and stands up, rubbing his head and eating the bacon that Usopp failed to get from him, a smug smirk on his face.
Usopp lay before him, defeated, muttering to himself about how heâs a black hole or something.
âWe need to ask her more questions, nowâ Law stated, noticing Luffy was humming to himself, seemingly not in the same mental realm as everyone else.
âWe need to approach the situation delicately; I donât think we should overwhelm her againâ Sanji responded to him
âWe donât have time to be delicate; we need a plan of actionâ
Getting fed up with his lack of attention, Law turns to Luffy and bites.
âWell? What do you have to say about all this, Straw-hat?â
âAbout what?â
âHave you not been listening to a word thatâs been said this entire time?â he snapped, already exhausted with him.
âYea yea I heard you guys. Youâre all suuuuper loudâ he laughed, the carefree sound ringing through the galley.
Surprisingly, Luffy had been listening, only tuning out when they talked about the tv show; Though he had not acted like it. He had tuned in the second Law suggested that they should knock you out and dump you on the next island they see, out of suspicion that you were a double agent or something. Hence, everything that had just unfolded.
He didnât appreciate it.
âYou need to stop freaking out so much.â He eventually continued. âItâs all going to work out fine and besides; itâs going to be fun figuring her stuff outâ the prospect of an adventure made his eyes shimmer once more before he shrugged âSheâs not even awake right now so we canât even get answers if we wanted to. Sheâs gotta get some good sleep remember?? Besides, sheâs going to want to eat when she wakes up; and thatâs when Iâll have my second breakfast shishishi,â he rubs his hands together, mouthwatering as his appetite rapidly returned âsooo youâll have to wait for us to be done with that!â he then puts his hands on his hips and nods like that answered everything, because to him, it did.
âScrew the breakfast, we need to know how weâre going to handle her before we get to Greenbit in in 2 daysâ Law snapped, not at all satisfied with the answer.
âWeâre not going to do anything except take care of her and help her figure out how to get back homeâ Luffy said, now sounding quite bothered at how he had insinuated you were a âproblemâ that needed to be handled. âSheâs not a threat to us; you donât need to be so worried all the timeâ he said, instantly switching his demeanor again to smile brightly at Law.
âHow could you possibly know that.â
âJust doâ he crosses his arms.
âSo, youâre just going to take her at face value then, right off the bat?â Law asked.
âYupâ he nods once, zero hesitation.
âWaitâŚI thinkâŚI donât know what that means actually hrmmmâŚheeeeey are you trying to trick me or something??â he questioned, eyeing him up and down suspiciously.
âDear lor-Iâm asking how you know you should trust her so quicklyâ Law groaned, pretty much done with this whole exchange.
âI trusted you that quickly didnât Iâ
Silence for a beat. He got him there.
Luffy beamed at him proudly, like he knew he had just won.
Heâs a lot smarter than people give him credit for.
âBesides, I like her a lot! She made me laugh, so sheâs staying with me!â He said, as if it was obvious. His mind was already made up. And once that happened, no one could change that.
ââŚyouâre too trustworthyâŚâ he muttered, under his breath hoping Luffy couldnât hear.
âYea and so what? Itâs worked out for me well so farâ He snickered before he looked at Law again, serious only for a moment. His eyes had narrowed for a second in slight concern, clearly caught up in his head. âSheâs lost and scared. I wonât abandon her, I donât care.â
Law did not look pleased. He needed Luffy to be focused on defeating Doflamingo, not running around looking for someone who knew about a magic mirror and some mystery girl.
Almost as if Luffy could see the thoughts form on his face, he spoke again, more seriously this time.
âYou donât need worry about Doffy either. Nobody is gonna stop me from kicking his ass.â He smirked and put his fist in his palm, nothing but pure determination behind his eyes had taken over.
Law glared a tiny bit more before accepting his defeat, muttering something about how much of an idiot he was, as he walked out of the galley, realizing his food had been eaten as well.
âWhateverâŚIâll be working on the plan for when we arrive at the island. Iâll go over it with you all when the details are finalizedâ he went off toward the library.
Luffy just chuckled and gave him a thumbs up. âSounds good buddy!â before directing his attention to Robin.
âPut together a list of questions everyone wants to ask herâ he said. âDepending on how sheâs feeling later Iâll give them to herâ he offered. âThat way we can start to figure out some more stuffâ
âThat sounds like a perfect first step Captain,â Robin smiled at him fondly. âIâll get started on it right away.â
âGreatâ he grinned. And that was that. Breakfast had come to a natural conclusion, after they realized they had all become victims of Luffyâs appetite, and went on about their usual business.
In the corner, a very confused Kinemon and Momonosuke sat wondering what the hell they all were just talking about, having been cooped up in their room early on yesterday evening, completely missing your arrival.
.
.
.
You started to move a couple hours later.
You were out the second your head hit the pillow last night. You didnât even dream, your brain was too fried from your chaotic day. You stirred as the sound of seagulls gently cawed in the distance, and the smell of the ocean and cedar flooded your senses.
Your eyes fluttered softly. In your sleepy haze you had forgotten what had occurred the day before as you stretched your arms out and yawned, starting to rise. You reach over to your nightstand to grab your phone off the charger and-
hmmm
weird. Itâs not there.
You opened your eyes fully to look for it when you noticed your surroundings. You frowned. This was not your room.
Confusion took over for a moment before you remembered.
Right.
Youâre not in your own room.
Youâre not even in your own world.
You feel weird. A part of you honestly thought you were going to wake up back in your own bed in your own house; your last confirmation that this was all somehow just a bizarre dream. Yet there you were. Very much awake and very much still there. You lay back down in the bed and pulled the blankets over your head, trying to process the questions that flooded your mind, returning once more with vigor.
Before you could let them overwhelm your poor brain, you sit up suddenly and go to the little desk that was against the wall. You found a pad of paper and a quill there, so you sat down and started writing; whatever was running through your head.
You wrote frantically, talking to yourself on the page about what you knew so far, and how you felt about it as you tried to gather your thoughts. This was something you had done to calm yourself down for ages, the act of âremovingâ the thoughts from your brain into a physical form reassures you, and gives you space for new ones.
You filled up 4 pages, full of messy handwriting and half written words as you struggled to keep up with your racing mind. You put the quill down and stretched your now aching hand.
You felt a million times lighter. You were still very disoriented, of course, but you were starting to accept this was reality. You concluded that this was not a dream, based on the very real sensations of smoking those cigarettes, and your response to touch, as well as hunger and thirst cues; not to mention you reeeeally had to use the bathroom.
You took 3 or 4 slow, deep breaths, further relaxing before you stood up. You looked around the room for a moment, able to see it better in the light.
It was a large room and, in the middle lay the bed, which had a large fluffy red blanket laid across it, with tons of pillows. It was quite cozy, you had felt like you were enveloped in a cloud. On either side of the bed there were 2 portholes. To the right of the bed there was a big chair that almost looked like a throne, with a matching ottoman. On the table between the two, you noticed there lay a snack and a glass of water, presumably left there by Sanji. To the left, there was a dresser with a mirror hanging above, pictures of the straw hats on either side. You realized the first picture had only the East Blue gang, and the second was the most recent version of the crew. Jinbei even had his own smaller picture, hanging just below it, just a picture of him from the paper, a sweet reminder that while heâs not currently travelling with them, heâs still a member of their crew now. There was some other dĂŠcor that littered the walls, as well as a bookshelf stuffed full of old maps and novels.
It was exactly what youâd expect of a room on a ship to look like. You smiled softly as you made your way to the bathroom. You washed your face while you were in there and stared at yourself in the mirror for a second, after doing a double take. You lookedâŚdifferent. More animated, you noticed. You decided you didnât like mirrors very much right now, and you threw a towel over it so you wouldnât be able to look at yourself. You exited the bathroom and covered the other mirror that was hanging above the dresser before opening the drawers.
You found that Robin and Nami had put some clothes in there for you, a few different options so you could choose. You got excited at the idea of playing dress up, so you pulled the clothes out and started to try them on, forgetting your troubles for a moment. Just then someone slipped a note under the door.
You didnât notice, too busy caught up in the clothes.
You decided on a lacy black bandeau paired with denim overalls, cut off quite above the knee. You found a bandana and some converse type shoes as well, taking the towel off the mirror to look at yourself.
âHell yea, I ate that upppppâ you thought to yourself, doing a little spin.
You figured that you had mustered enough courage to face everyone once more, trusting that you could behave in a somewhat more normal manner todayâŚhopefully.
âIâm just going to act like this is normal until I believe itâ You think to yourself, hoping youâll mean it soon.
You made your way to the door before you noticed the small scrap of paper on the floor. You picked it up and opened it, a simple note sprawled across:
Hope youâre ok in there! Come to the kitchen when youâre ready for second breakfast shishishi
The handwriting was chicken scratched and there was a smiley face drawn below the message. You instantly knew Luffy had been the one to slide it under your door, since no one else on the crew would be talking about a second breakfast. You chuckled softly, finding it endearing he found a way to check on you without disturbing you. You put the note on your desk as you made your way out of the inside of the ship.
You had kind of remembered the way on your own, trying your best to take note of where you were when Luffy brought you to your room last night. You pretty much nailed it, except for a couple of wrong turns here and there. You had opened one of the doors at the first wrong turn to find Cesar chained up inside, matching his wide-eyed expression when you appeared.
Oh, right you thought. This guyâs here. you rolled your eyes and relaxed, remembering how annoying he was
âW-who are you..I demand you free me at once! Donât you KNOW who I am?!â Cesar shrieked, his shrill voice sounding like nails on a chalkboard.
Oh screw this guyâŚ
You moved forward like you were going to help him before you stopped short and looked at him dead in the eyes
âSIKEEEEEâ you stuck your tongue out at him and laughed in his face before turning to walk out of the room. Cesar erupted in anger:
âOHHHHH????? HOW DARE YOU WHO DO YOU THINK YOU A-
*SLAM*
You cut him off mid-sentence as you slammed the door on him. You laughed to yourself, quite pleased with your comedic timing. You could NOT stand that guy and always wanted to tell him off. That definitely scratched the itch.
You backtracked and after one more wrong turn, you found your way onto the deck of the ship once more, the bright rays of sun reminding you how long you had been sleeping. You made your way inside the galley, after relaying your good mornings to Frank Chopper and Usopp who were walking by. You opened the door to find Sanji had just finished cooking âsecondâ breakfast and was currently holding his palm out against Luffyâs forehead, blocking him from a plate of food. They did not see you when you first came in, too busy bickering.
âAwwwww câmon you said sheâs awake now you sensed her right?? Just lemme eat my first 2 plates to startâ Luffy whined at Sanji, who kept dodging the plate from Luffyâs reach as he repeatedly tried to make half-hearted attempts to grab it from him.
HeâŚsensed me? You thought. Ohh thatâs right, his haki is heightened for women; he mustâve felt my presence when I woke up. You used your context clues from what you knew about these people, kind of enjoying seeing them fight in real life.
âYou just ate 2 hours ago; you canât wait 5 minutes for a lady to come down the stairs before youâre stuffing your face?? A lady that beautiful deserves to be waited on you dope!â He yelled at Luffy, before pushing him back by the forehead; the only time youâve ever seen him use his hands to âfightâ.
Luffy groans LOUD and sits back down at the table, burying his face in his arms while muttering
 âfineeeee I guess youâre rightâ
Heâs quiet for 2.5 seconds before heâs complaining again, a new record.
âsoOoOoOoOOoOo hungryyyyyyyâŚ..dyyyiiingâ
Good lord he is dramatic you thought. You giggled at him and decided to put him out of his misery
âAm I interrupting something?â You ask, knowing damn well you just made Luffyâs entire life.
His head shoots up, literal stars in his eyes at the sound of your voice, and before you know it, heâs completely perked up and beaming in your direction before he reaches his arm out to grab you and pull you into the spot next to him, all without saying a word. Surprisingly you donât crash into the seat, he had been quite graceful with his approaches, at least with you.
You recover from the sudden movement and look up at him, hands on his shoulders, steadying yourself. And youâre really looking, as if taking him in for the first time; you hadnât really been able to process anything the day before, let alone how he looked up close.
Goooooood Lordy Lord
He was beautiful. Breath takingly so. Gorgeous. 10 out of 10 lemme hit it again and AGAIN if you know what Iâm saying. And I know you know what Iâm saying.
He was sculpted by the careful and soft hands of God herself; God must be a woman to have created a man this perfect, you thought, eyes moving down on their own accord. He had just pulled you right up next to him on the bench after all.
He wasnât wearing a shirt, and he was a little sweaty. He had just finished helping Franky and Usopp move the cola supply they had gotten off Punk Hazard, and it did not have good airflow down there.
His tanned and toned chest and torso were exposed for you to obsess over, casually of courseâŚyou noticed that you could see all the small scars and scratches that werenât all visible on screen, and he even had some fresh wounds still wrapped from their most recent adventures. Thoughts of you running your hands across his chest, feeling them under your fingers entered your mind and you quickly looked back up into his eyes, trying not to be so obvious.
That didnât help either. Your breath hitched slightly when your eyes made contact, his wide, bright and curious ones sparkled into your timid (and a little lust filled) ones, already looking at you. Not to mention he still had his arm wrapped around your waist a few times, not yet letting you go.
âHe totally just caught you staringâ you thought, face flushing with slight embarrassment. Maybe he didnât, you then hoped. Either way he didnât acknowledge it; not like you really thought he would anyways
He removes his arm from your waist and tilts his head at you, smiling with the light of a thousand suns, and spoke
âMorninâ! Iâve been waiting for ya!â
eeeek
âY-you have?â You stutter out, still flustered from the previous encounter
Yea of course!! Now we can finally eat shishishiâ he laughs as he looks at Sanji and holds his hands out, an expectant look on his face.
âOh right. Heâs kind of an idiotâ you think as your heartbeat slows down a tad. You forgot he wasnât really the romantic type, getting caught up in your own fantasies.
âI also wanted to make sure you were feeling okay, I wanted to come in and check on you a lotâ Luffy looked back at you, eyes analyzing yours, looking for any sign that youâre uncomfortable. He doesnât find any.
âNevermindâ you immediately 180 as your blush deepens, your brain emitting computer error codes. You nod, almost unnoticeable. He catches it though.
âYâŚyea Iâm okayâ you manage.
Sanji immediately serves up two plates, yours first of course. Heâs not gushing like a complete idiot, which helps you relax. He was laying it on thick though.
âGood morning my dearest, I prepared you some simple eggs and bacon for your meal tod- donât touch thatâ he slaps Luffyâs hand away from your plate in a flash like he was swatting at a pesky fly before continuing, barely bothered by his antics.
âI hope everything is to your liking, I also apologize if my observation haki spooked you, I wanted your food to be ready as soon as you stepped through the door, a fine lady such as yourself should never have to wait on a mealâ he said, his voice filled to the brim with chivalry.
âThank you, it looks amazing. And I donât really mind itsâŚactually kind of comfortingâ you realized as you spoke.
âOHHH ANYTHING FOR YOU ______-CHANâ He was spinning around the room once again, back to his regular old self.
You chuckle once before you start to eat. Luffy had just finished inhaling his first plate by the time you took your first bite.
âMoreâ he grinned at Sanji.
He complied, making plenty extra for the bottomless pit that is Luffy.
âYou slept for a really long time, I was worried that you disappeared in the night or something crazyâ Luffy said, sounding cheery, but his eyes betrayed him a bit, a flicker of anxiety flashed through them; it had disappeared as quickly as it had shown up. You didnât notice. âDid ya get my note!?â
âYes, I did, it was sweet thank you. And IâŚdefinitely did not disappear in the night, thatâs for sure.â Frowning slightly as you remembered thatâs what you had kind of been hoping for. âBut Iâm feeling a little better todayâ you say quickly, noticing Luffy is acutely aware of your small frown.
Heâs not convinced.
âHrmmmm are you sure? You seemed pretty freaked out yesterdayâ
âOh, I was, and I still am, but Iâm definitely more anxious to find out how this is even feasible in the first placeâ
âfeas-a-what now?â Luffy asked, looking lost.
âPossible. How itâs even possibleâ Sanji edited your word choice for him, sounding a little exasperated.
âOh!â he thought for a moment. âWell, I know where we can start, if you want!â
âSure, where?â you asked curiously.
He pulled something out of his pocket, a folded-up piece of paper. He handed it to you and grinned.
âWhat is this?â You questioned, unfolding it.
âWell, everyone had so many questions at breakfast, so I told Robin to write them down for you!â
âThey kind of answer more questions for us though I thinkâ Sanji added âIâm sorry, but we havenât found anything about how you got here yet besides the mirrorâ he lied, omitting to tell you about the book from breakfast.
âThatâs okay, I figured that Iâm the one that has the most information right nowâ you said, completely understanding.
You took a moment to read over their questions, instantly able to tell who had asked them. They were all written in what you presumed to be Robins handwriting, but she kept the tone of the questions the same. It was a decent list.
âWhat were you doing before you came through the mirrorâ
âHad your grandmother ever said anything strange about the mirrorâ
âWhat can you tell us about the man who created the show in your worldâ
All Robinâs questions
âWhat exactly do you know about usâ
Zoro, you presumed. You could feel his eyes from the paper, you figured someone would be skeptical, you still were.
âDo people think robots are super cool in your worldâ
Definitely Franky, you giggled.
âDid everyone see me run away that one time, out of bravery and tact of courseâ
Poor UsoppâŚyou really didnât want to be the one to tell him
âHow do I know youâre not a threatâ
That one makes you stop in your tracks.
Who wrote this one? You thought. It was skeptical like Zoroâs, but it was personal not group focused. hmmmm
Luffy saw your eyes fixated on the paper in slight anxiety and spoke unusually soft
âYou donât have to answer any of them right now, I promiseâ
You donât respond and continue reading on.
They all followed the same theme, either regarding how the show and your world worked, or how they were perceived, and the rest were just Robin trying to find any clues as to how this situation was possible. They all seemed like normal questions one would ask in their situation. Except for that oneâŚ
âIt had to be Law. He was the angsty type for sureâ you concluded.â But why? Oh my god I bet I spooked him when I laughed at him yesterdayâ you realized, chuckling a bit, though concerned. It was a bit off-putting you will say, but to be fair, it was funny to think about from your perspective.
He couldnât see into your head though.
âAre you okay?â Luffy spoke again, ready to take the paper from you in case you decided you didnât want it.
âYea, these questions are all things I can mostly answer no problem, and I know how to do it tooâ You smiled at him again breaking from your thoughts. âI donât think Law trusts me very much thoughâ you say with a small frown.
âOh, Traffys like that with everyone youâll get used to itâ He waves it off. âAnd donât worry, I would never knock you out and dump you off at some random island; I know youâre not a double agent or anything!â he laughs brightly.
âŚyou blink once, just staring a little dumbfounded.
Iâm sorryâŚwhat the FUCK did he just say?
Sanji sighed as he put his forehead in his palm, cigarette between his fingers, just so done.
You chuckled nervously, âYea Iâd hope notâŚwhy would you do that?â you asked slowly, anxiety creeping up your neck.
He looks confused before responding âUhhh I said I wouldnât do that sillyâ he patted your shoulder a couple times
âDonât worry, stupid over here is not being clear at all.â Sanji clarified, speaking up now, âTraffy was acting like a lunatic this morning and suggested some stupid idea, heâs just getting more unnerved the closer we get to Dressrosa, you donât need to worry about it.â
It clicked suddenly.
That over-paranoid insomniac thought you were some double agent working for Doflamingo??
You thought about it for a second, trying to defend yourself in your mind. It was actually, totally plausible.
âYou did just show up out of the blue and claim to know everything about their future, and then basically waved some tantalizing mystery in front of the man who acted on a whim.â You could see how he concluded you were trying to throw them off track, it was a very one-piece thing to happen; remember Kanjuro?
He was totally wrong, of course. But still, in his overtired and anxious brain, you saw how it would make perfect sense.
You frowned for a moment while still thinking, hard. You decided you should just talk to him; you never had any problems with confrontation, and you certainly feel more like yourself today. Plus, you had nothing to hideâŚexcept the future of course. You thanked Sanji for the breakfast; you had finished it of course, and you got up to go find Law. You had assumed heâd most likely be in the library, but before you could go far, Luffy stopped you
âWhere are ya going?â
âIâm going to sort things out with Law, I want to clear things upâ you say, slightly annoyed heâd made you a target in his mind.
âLemme come with, Iâll make sure he doesnât try anything funnyâ Luffy said, rising to join you
âI should be okay Luffy, I promise.â You reassure him, noticing how he had already risen and put his cardigan back on. âI think I know how to gain his trust but if I walk in there with you it wonât have the same effectâ You try and put as simply as you can.
He pouted slightly, a little bothered that you didnât want him to come. He also didnât like the idea of you being alone with Law for some reason, he had realized.
He still didnât understand why.
âooookay fine. But come find me when youâre done, I have something to give youâ he relented, though smiling anyways
âDealâ You smile back, heart fluttering just a teeeeeensy bit at the thought of him having something for you.
With that, you leave the galley, already knowing which direction the library was in. Robin and Nami wave to you from their little table they had set up in the grass, commenting on how cute you look in their clothes. You thanked them and waved them off like Chopper would, two actual goddesses complimenting you made you feel like you were in a dream once more.
âWhere are you off to? Robin asked, sipping on her tea and thumbing through a book.
The same book she had at breakfast.
You didnât know it, but that book was going to be of great interest to you, very soon.
âTo go talk to Law, I heard his little theory from breakfast this morningâ you said matter of factly
âI seeâ she said. âI see youâre feeling more, stable today?â she asked, choosing her words carefully.
âYea Iâd say so. I wasnât really acting like myself at all yesterday; sorry about that by the way I swear Iâm chill, but itâs starting to feel more real.â You say kind of believing yourself, but not really.
âThatâs good to hearâ Robin nods her head. She knew you were still freaked and you were putting on somewhat of an act; she had read what you had written about already after all.
She had slipped into your room after you went to eat, to read through your notes to see if she could find any clues. She mayyy have left paper and a quill in there when she set up the bed in hopes of you functioning how she would in times of stress, quite pleased to be correct, yet again.
She is scary as hell. But just to ensure that Lawâs theory didnât have any merit to it, whether it was Doflamingo or some other enemy, she checked your notes, not really expecting to find anything and felt a little bad about not trusting you fully; Itâs also not like you were going to write down your evil plan for everyone to see. Her theory was correct, of course. You didnât know a thing. You were probably more lost than the crew was, having never dealt with strange occurrences such as this before.
This is just another Tuesday for them.
Your anxiety and panic were glaringly obvious in your writing. You couldnât have faked it that well, too many details provided that proved you truthful. You had written down everything you had done that day the morning before you fell in the mirror, trying to ground yourself. Too many unfamiliar objects named and other unrecognizable words that were sprawled across, you couldnât have been baiting them; this was real.
âLuffy gave me your list by the wayâ you say next, pulling it out and looking it over once more.
âOh good; You donât have to answer them right now, I just wanted to give you a general idea of what we were wondering.â She said, voice smooth and laced with elegance.
âOh, itâs okay Iâll have the answers for you guys soon, I promise.â You nodded, thinking of how you were going to explain everything to them.
âIâm just going to need a lotttt of paper, and maybe colored pencils?â you started asking to yourself, looking up in contemplation.
âWhat are you planning on doing?â Nami asked curiously, intrigued by what you couldâve been making.
âWell, Iâve always been more of a visual learner, and I know Luffy canât pay attention longer than a 30 second story unless thereâs something to look at or do, so Iâm going to get creative.â You shrugged, knowing your audience.
Nami and Robin giggled to each other at your response, having pinned their captain perfectly. The exchange between you three seemed almost natural, as if you had always been on board with them.
In a way, you kind of had been.
âI think thatâs wonderful ideaâ Robin continued
âYea itâll be nice to see him sit still for onceâ Nami chided as she chuckled a bit more
âI donât think ill be able to make miracles like that happen, but itâll have something for an iPad kid like himself for sureâ Now you chuckled, looking at their puzzled expressions, realizing they didnât know what that was.
âItâs a kid thatâs- you know what never mind but trust me itâs funnyâ you wave the thought away. To explain that one youâd have to explain YouTube and meme culture and all the shit you didnât have time for.
They take your word for it as you wrap up the conversation, heading once again for the library to settle things with Law.
You started to feel kind of guilty. If you asked someone that knew your future if you made it out okay and they laughed at you, youâd be kind of annoyed too. And scared, probably. You did have some rare insight into how heâs feeling, which made you feel more empathetic towards him, your annoyance waning instantly.
Heâs on such high alert all the time because heâs had to be. Heâs been betrayed or fooled by one too many people and lost too much because of it; âyou know he would prefer to be doing this alone if he could. Itâs not surprising heâs weary of you; heâs weary of the entire crew still. Plus, the last time you see him on screen, he was beaten up badly. It does get downhill fast for him from here, you thought starting to lose the humor you had once seen in the situation.
You stopped right before you opened the door, Mind swarming with thoughts, confidence diminishing rapidly.
Should I even talk to him? What if I just make it worse? How do I even start the conversation? You mind had started  spiraling once again. How do I make him trust me? Maybe Iâll tell him something that only he would know that Doflamingo wouldnât, or some info about his crew or something or- no he would totally freak out ugh You put your hands in your face, groaning. okay I should NOT talk to him I cannot do this right now nope nope no-
âAre you going to keep standing there, or are you going to go in the library?â A deep voice asked, sounding over tired and a little agitated.
Oh.
My.
God.
You turned around slowly to make eye contact with none other than the man who was supposed to be on the other side of that door, Trafalgar fucking Law.
Well, shit. you thought. He really needed to stop randomly showing up, it is not good for your heart.
You took a deep breath and closed your eyes before looking at him once more, trying not to seem so nervous.

You were dreaming. You had to be. Or hallucinating at the very least. Because there was no way, no way the straw-hat pirates were standing in front of you right now. That just wasnât possible. Nope nope no-
âSoooo what were you doing in that mirror?â Luffy asks, suddenly pulling you from your frantic thoughts.
Heâs standing right in front of you, hands on his hips as he tilted his head and spoke again,
âYour clothes are neat! He smiled. âAre you a pirate too?â he asks excitedly, his eyes lighting up.
You look down at your outfit. Hmm, you did look like a pirate. You had a flattering black knee-length dress with a corset around the middle, and a black belt with a pouch for treasures hanging off your waist. You wouldâve been overjoyed at how good you looked if you remembered when you put those clothes on or how you even ended up here.
ââŚ.noâ you said after a long moment looking back up at all of them, their curious eyes analyzing you. You realized they were just as clueless as you were, but they seemed pretty relaxed about the situation. You didnât look like a threat, and youâre not the first random person to end up on their ship by a long shot. You would know.
Youâve been watching the show for years.
âSo, who are you thenâ Zoro asked eyeing you up and down, taking note of your bewildered expression, eyes wide as you stared at Luffy, almost as if you couldnât believe he was real.
âAnd how did you get here, if I may askâ Robin follows.
You break your stare from Luffy and look around once more. How do you even answer that? Seriously. You canât remember right now. And there was a mirror? You remembered your name at least, so you offer up that bit of info and try your best to act casually talking to the characters youâve been a little obsessed with for years.
âItâs alright if you donât remember how you got here right nowâ Robin said calmly, sensing you panic at the question. âLetâs just relax for a second. Luffy, could you give her some space?â
âYea Luffy leave the beautiful lady alone!â Sanji chimes in, hearts in his eyes. He turns to you, nose about to bleed.
âMy dearest, are you feeling hungry or thirsty or anything of the sort??? I can prepare the finest dishes for you, anything youâd like just say the words!!â He gushes as he spins around you.
You never really cared for this version of Sanji. Pre-time skip got shit done but this guy is a loser virgin if youâve ever seen one. You forget your panic for a second as a small frown spread across your face. Just as you were about to speak, Brook cuts in; you already know whatâs coming.
âAnd I know this may be poor timing, but if it would make you feel better you could show me your panties?â He raises his brow bone suggestively and now you had really forgotten that you were confused and disoriented. your whole demeanor changed instantly as you looked him dead in his sockets and spoke, whole face deadpanned
âI will literally kill you twice if you ask that again you bag of bones.â You spit, voice cold as you reach your hand up to whack him over the head, the same way youâd seen Nami do a thousand times.
You felt that. Clear as day.
âHA, she got you good Brook!â Luffy jests folding over as Nami lowers her fist, looking slightly impressed that you leapt into action so fast.
Hearing Luffyâs laugh relaxed you a little bit. God, you loved that laugh and being the cause of it made your brain rewire. It calmed you down enough to speak some more.
âI donâtâŚremember how I got here.â you say slowly trying your best to recall what you were doing right before you seemingly spawned in. You had to be dreaming, you concluded. Thatâs the only way this makes sense. You stare some more. You almost feel silly answering their questions, starting to become more convinced youâre dreaming by the second.
Your dreams have never felt this real though.
âUhhh I doâ Luffy responds and slaps your shoulder playfully sending a chill down your spine, he hadnât moved from how close he was standing
You felt that clear as day too.
âI just told you, you came from the mirror I just got weirdo!â
You went pale. âWhat mirror?â
âUhh that mirror, duh.â He points past you.
You turn around to realize you were in fact, standing in front of a mirror.
Your stomach dropped. That was your grandmotherâs mirror. Except it was shattered. You could see your wide eyes in the splintered glass, the numerous reflections of you looking back in fear worsening your anxiety tenfold.
Honestly, you had always dreamed that you could live in the world of One Piece. And be a part of this exact crew. But for some reason being here with no recollection of the previous events freaked you the fuck out. You did not like being unable to remember what had happened to you. And most importantly, you shouldnât be able to be physically standing here, talking to them.
âAre you feeling okay?â Nami asks? âYou look like youâre going to be sick or somethingâ
Your mind was reeling at this point. Everything felt too real, you felt too awake, and thinking back to Sanjiâs questions, your throat was dry and you could use a glass of water. You had never felt hunger or thirst in your dreams before. You decided to see if you could push back through the mirror, since it was how you seemingly got here. You reached your hand up and pushed against a larger section of broken glass.
Nothing.
Again. Harder.
Still nothing. Panic sets in some more.
You suddenly slap yourself in the face, really trying to wake up now. The crew looksâŚconfused as hell.
âWhat the hell was that forâ Zoro questions
âIâm trying to wake myself upâ you say, trembling a bit âThis must be a dream.â
âWhy would it be a dream?â
âBecause you guys arenât actually realâ you state, not looking up yet, grabbing at your arms, hard. âYouâre just characters in a TV show I watch.â You stop pinching yourself and look up at them.
Silence.
Blank stares from everyone as they all tilt their heads at you, confused once more. Even Luffy looks like heâs thinking.
âCharacters in aâŚ.what?â Nami asks
âNotâŚreal?â Usopp follows.
âI donât know about you guys, but I feel pretty realâ Luffy exclaims pulling on his face, making his cheek stretch out and letting it snap back. You felt sick again.
âYou seem pretty real tooâ, he continues. He approaches you again and he places his hands on your shoulders. He shakes you a bit as his tongue pokes out of his mouth, eyes focused on you, as if heâs checking something.
âYupp youâre here alright.â He says standing back and nodding his head like heâs figured the whole situation out.
You just stare at him, not having helped your confusion in the slightest.
âCould you stop being dense for a secondâ Zoro cuts in as he stands up, walking up you and Luffy. He yanks him back and gestures for you to sit down on the bench.
âHey lover boy, get her some water, would ya?â He barks at Sanji, who immediately takes offense.
âHEY donât tell me what to do mosshead Iâll take that water and shove it up your-
âActually, some water would be niceâ you cut in, remembering your dry throat, and remembering that once those two start, itâll never stop.
Sanji instantly switches up. âBut of course milady!â he exclaims running to the kitchen, leaving a cloud of dust. In an instant he was back extending the glass out to you.
You thank him and his nose bleeds once more. Zoro shoves him away from you, right before said blood got all over you. He looks back at you now, his eye softening as he spoke:
âI understand this may be a lot for you, but we need some more information if you want help getting back to where you came from.â He spoke gentle but firm, his voice calming some of your frayed nerves. âYou seem like you know who we are, so letâs start with how.â
âYou mentioned that youâve watched us in a TV showâ Robin chimed in, her curious and gentle eyes finding yours. âI donât believe those exist here, which leads me to conclude you arenât from this world.â she adds. âAm I correct?â
You nod. She continues
âWhat is a TV show?â
âItâs a form of entertainment in my world.â
âAnd what exactly is your world?â she ponders.
âUmmmm..â you dive back into your thoughts as you thought of a response.
âItâs a lot like your world. I live on a planet called Earth..Iâm not sure what your planet is called actuallyâ You start. âWe breathe the same air, and we have the ocean and land and everything. We sail on the ocean but only for leisure and to export and import goods. We donât have Pirates in the time I live in, they existed in my world like 300-400 years ago, but they were nothing like you guysâŚmore like Blackbeard. Oh, and he was also a real guy in my world by the wayâ you continue, your anxiety starting to dissipate as you spoke of a familiar place. You saw as the crew had become entranced by the picture you were painting and started to ask a bunch of questions.
âAre there talking reindeers in your world too??â Chopper asked excitedly
âUnfortunately, thereâs not. Theres no anthropomorphic humans and thereâs no fishmenâ you frowned. âThere arenât any devil fruits or magic either. We do have villains though thatâs for sure.â
âWhat kind of food do you guys haveâ Luffy follows up, just as excited at the possibility of new meals to eat.
âThat is NOT relevant right nowâ Nami barks as she hits Luffy on the head.
âNot to you maybe hmphhhâ Luffy mutters as he rubs his head and sulks off away from her.
âWhat about cyborgs??â Franky adds on as he strikes a pose.
âWe have machinery and the beginning stages of more intelligent robots, and thereâs a supercomputer thatâs slowly taking up all of our clean drinking water..â you lament, going off topic. âBut there are no human cyborgs like youâ
Franky smiles. âthatâs cause Iâm SUPER uniqueâ and hits his signature pose. It makes you laugh for the first time since you showed up.
âANYwayssssâ Nami continues, âcould you explain how your world works? Like is there a government? And what kind of island do you live onâ
You stare at her for a second as you remember the hellscape that is your world right now. You take a deep breath.
âOh god..â you rub your temples. Where to start? âIâm definitely going to need a cigarette firstâ realizing the pack you usually had on you disappeared with your old clothes. Weird. Your phone also disappeared you noticed.
Sanji whips out his entire pack and hands it to you along with his lighter. You light one and take a deep inhale as they all stare at you. You then begin to explain everything about your world. Your typical day to day, How most humans live, how the land stretches for miles but thereâs still more ocean that anything, how the governments work, and how your government has been overtaken by a narcissistic orange, all the bigotry and heartache, all the beauty and nostalgia.
âWait wait waitâ Usopp questions. âHow do we fit into all of thisâ he scratches his head.
âOh rightâŚlike I said, instead of transponder snails and video snails we have what we call phones and televisions. You can use the phone to call anyone anywhere in the world, and our televisions can playback recorded or animated stories, which we call TV shows.â You explain, remembering what you were supposed to be getting at.
âAnd weâre in one of these TV shows?â Zoro asked.
âYeaâ you respond. âyou guys were a comic first actually, then a show; you were created in our world by a man named Eiichiro Oda. You are one of the most famous animes in the world.â
âWhat is the show aboutâ Robin pushes on, her curiosity growing by the second.
âWell..Itâs about you guysâ you reveal, gesturing to the group in front of you, who are now looking at you in shock.
âWhat do you mean its about us?â Usopp asks.
âItâs about the adventures of the Straw-Hat Pirates your journey to find the One-Piece.â You state. âThe main character is that reckless idiot over there.â You point at Luffy, who was most definitely spaced out until you pointed at him. You knew your story had too many details for him to fully pay attention to, but since the rest of the crew had attention spans longer than 5 seconds, you gave the long version.
He looked over at you, a small frown on his face as his brows twisted in confusion. He pointed at himself when he spoke: âHrmmmâŚme?â
âWell, yea. The show starts with you meeting Koby on Alvidaâs ship and rescuing him, and then you meet Zoro tied up in the yardâŚand well the rest you can all fill in since it is your lives after all.â
âOh wow! Youâve seen everything then huhâ he laughs, unbothered by the idea of being watched.
The rest of the crew was fixated on your every word. You had never seen them all wearing the same expression, one of bewilderment and a little bit of anxiety, as they realized an entirely different world had been watching them so closely. Unlike Luffy, that thought was very bothersome to them. Robin gestured for you to continue.
âI know pretty much everything about all of you, whenever you met Luffy is when I met you guys. You say, suddenly becoming aware of how creepy that sounded. You conclude that itâs not your fault this is happening, you were just as confused as the rest of them. You go on figuring itâs best to just be as open as possible. âI know all about your world and whatâs going on here too. Even stuff that you donât know yet.â you revealed, more ominous than you intended.
They looked unnerved at that. What did you know?
Zoro was about to ask just that when suddenly someone appeared out of the galley, looking annoyed as hell.
âOi what the hell are you guys doing circled up over there. We need to be going over our plan for DoflaminâŚâ the voice trailed off as he looked at you.
âWho the hell is that?â The man questioned sharply.
You looked over and locked eyes with the man that was speaking. And your heart stopped.
Trafalgar.
Fucking.
Law.
You almost passed out. Zoro sitting next to you was already making your heart race, not to mention Luffy putting his hands on you, but this was just too much. You clasped your hands over your mouth to cover your shock as he looked at you in slight confusion. âWhere the hell did you come from?â He had just gone to get a snack.
âThatâs what weâre trying to figure outâ Luffy answers smiling at him with that signature grin and chuckling a bit. He looks over at you suddenly- âhey do you know who Traffy is??? Is he in that show thing too??â Luffy asked.
You nodded your head and his confusion only grew deeper. He started to demand what was going on as a strange thought overtook your mind and you took another drag from your cigarette, ignoring Law completely.
Why the hell is Trafalgar Law on the Sunny right now? The show was currently in the Elbaph arc and Law is supposed to be in a state of limbo right now. He also just mentioned a plan for DoflamingoâŚthereâs no way they havenât even gotten to Dressrosa yet is there?? What the FUCK is going on??
You glance around at the crew and lock eyes with Luffyâs chest, which had its signature scar adorning it. Okay so this is post time skip..and it seems like Iâm here in their world. Oh fuck. You thought. Were youâŚin the middle of the plot??? You took notice of their clothes and realized that they were wearing their post Punk Hazard outfits. Your eyes widened as you instantly thought about the repercussions of you being there. You spoke suddenly.
âLuffy, have you defeated Doflamingo yet?â offering up a small bit of info, not wanting to startle them with details about themselves they didnât know yet.
âNot yet but I will!â he suddenly twists his brows.
wait..how do you know that? are you a witch??? he shifts from confusion back to excitement
ââŚHow did you know that?â Nami asks as the crew shifts nervously.
âI already told youâ you responded, a haunted look upon your own face. âYouâre in a TV show. I already know what happensâŚI actually know what happens to every single one of you for the next 4 months or soâ
You could see the collective anxiety bubble in their faces at your words. What the hell did you know?
You knew you shouldâve explained more about how the arcs work and how youâre currently standing in a plot that aired 10 years ago, but you didnât even know what to do, your brain was starting to overwhelm itself with your own questions.
Could this fuck up the plot? How did you even end up in the âpastâ if you came from your world, wouldnât you have spawned into Elbaph? The most current time that aligns with yours? This is so confusing. Wait how are you even here again? Oh god how much time has passed in your world. What if itâs been years?? How does time work in this situation? Wait are you sure youâre not dreaming still? And Luffy said that they just got this mirror so when did my grandmaâs mirror end up here and- Your mind spiraled with a million and one thoughts and you ended up dropping your cigarette onto the ground as you buried your face in your palms. You were about to freak out if things didnât start making sense soon.
âHelloooooooâ Law asked again, with that signature attitude, utterly confused at the lack of context. âWhat the hell is going on?â he snapped.
Thatâs what youâd like to know.
You stood up suddenly. You walked up to Luffy, ignoring Law once again and you put your hands on his shoulders. You looked him dead in his eyes and he looked up at you in return, slight confusion spreading across face.
âLuffy.â You said seriously. âI know youâre carefree and not very detail oriented, but I need you to lock the fuck in for a second, okay?â
âOkay!â he responded cheerily without hesitation.
âYou said I came from the mirror.â âIs that right?â
âYea!!â âBut..you didnât walk through I thinkâ he frowned and looked up as he put his hand on his chin; he looked like he was trying very hard to recall for you. You wouldâve thought it was cute if you werenât freaking out inside.
âyou kind of like..fell into it i guessâ
ââŚ.whatâ
âYea! I saw it!â
ââŚ.Ho-how did you even get this mirror? It belonged to my grandma.â you questioned, lingering on the fact he said you fell âintoâ the mirror.
it soundedâŚfamiliar
âI just saw it on Punk Hazard when we were leaving the factory after making sure it was emptyâ he smiled. âI saw you walk up to it! I tried to say hi, but you didnât answerâ he frowned slightly, like it had bothered him. âI didnât know if you were trapped or what, so I took it and put it on the ship just in caseâ he shrugged.
âYou kept coming and going, moving some boxes aroundâ Nami continued for him. âWe tried to get your attention, but you never responded.â She said, also shrugging her shoulders.
âThen some time passed and suddenly you got super close to the mirrorâ Luffy picked back up, excited he remembered. âSo, I stuck my face up to the mirror and it went through! Then you saw me and came crashing through it and now youâre here!â He smiled proudly.
Crashing.
Oh shit.
It was like a shockwave hit you. You let go of Luffy and you stumbled backwards, falling backwards onto the grass patch.
You remembered.
Oh My God.
This was real.

.
.
.
You walked up the stairs to the attic. You had just come from your grandmaâs will reading, having left oddly specific instructions for you to be the first one to go and collect the items she left for you. You didnât think much of it, grandma had played favorites and the first granddaughter was a position that was up there. You wondered what she was giving you that she didnât want anyone else to take. You entered the attic and there she was. The most beautiful sight you have ever seen. It was the gold Victorian floor-length mirror, the designs that sprawled across it so intricate and unique. You had a habit of collecting old antique mirrors and you had been lusting over this one for as long as you can remember. Itâs been passed down in your family for generations, as far back as the 8th great grandma or so. A small note was attached to it.
My dearest granddaughter, I decided long ago this mirror would be yours. I know youâll be able to see the magic I saw in it. You always kept that child-like wonder of yours alive. Be safe on your adventures my dear and remember, donât let the mirror break. It becomes very difficult to get her powers back, though not impossible.
P.S.- Please donât let your aunt get ahold of it. She will spray paint it some terrible color and the magic will be ruined. I just know it. it wouldnât even reveal itself to her anyways.
Love, grandma.
You reread the last sentence a few times, brows furrowing. Powers? What did she mean, you thought. And why wouldnât the mirror ârevealâ itself to your aunt? Itâs a mirrorâŚit reflects whatever it sees?? You think. The whole note was kind of odd to you, but you chalked it up to her losing it in her old age. She wasnât particularly lucid these last few years. You looked around at the attic that was littered in boxes, blocking your way to the door. You started to clear them out one by one, finding your name on a few more things along the way. When the path was clear you started to move the mirror, realizing how heavy it actually was. You donât even know why someone would move it all the way up to the attic in the first place.
You shouldnât have pressed on. It was a priceless antique after all; you shouldâve taken more care.
But your greedy ass wanted that mirror in your house now.
You maneuvered the mirror to the edge of the doorway and tried to decide the best course of action for getting it down the stairs. You decide that teeter-tottering it down each step would work best, so thatâs what you did.
You were about halfway down the stairs when suddenly, you heard a faint echo of a familiar voice.
âHELLLOOOOOOOOO CAN YOU HEAR ME YETâ
You stopped, holding the mirror on either side as you investigated your reflection. What the hell was that? And why did it sound like-
Suddenly the mirror starts to ripple in the center, and your eyes widen as Monkey D. Luffyâs face pops up and looks at you.
His eyes are wide as well as he looks around in wonder. âWow I didnât know I could stick my head through this how neat! Oh, hi!â he smiled and waved. âIâve been trying to talk to you but youâre ignoring us I think, kind of rude hrmmmâ his face making a small pout.
You. Are. Shocked. What the hell is an anime character (that youâre kind of in love with) doing in your grandmaâs old ass mirror? You instantly think you have early onset schizophrenia, like a normal person would, and stare at the face. UmmmmmmmmmmmâŚ
But before you can ask him what heâs doing there, a rat comes racing out of the attic down the stairs, and right up to your feet. You jump back out of insitinctâŚyouâŚjumpâŚ
You instantly remember youâre standing on the stairs. And that mirror is 50 pounds. And itâs now coming back to you rapidly because you definitely just let go of it. As your eyes widen in sudden panic, you try to dive to the side, but it was too late. The mirror falls on top of you, and you fall backwards off the staircase, the mirror landing right on top of you. Luffyâs face disappeared by the force of the mirror falling and as you collided with it.
The mirror hit the ground, shattering instantly.
And you were gone.
.
.
.
.
.
.
You looked around at the crew who were now staring at you with new levels of concern. Rightfully so, you were tweaking out a little.
You hadnât spoken in a minute or two, just staring at the ground looking shell shocked as you remembered the feeling of being sucked through the mirror as your head hit the tile, being pressed between the mirror and ground for a split second.
Holy shit.
you reached your hand up to touch the back of your head, wincing immediately.
You almost fucking died.
You stood up, new thoughts of the mirror crushing you with force, the thick gold framing you loved so much connecting with your face as your back collided with the ground, except you remained under it, the glass splintering into you as you shook your head rapidly.
Oh my god.
Everything was becoming too much; you were too confused. You grabbed another cigarette and lit it without saying a single word. Your head was occupied once more, full of even more new thoughts.
So I AM hereâŚthat make me feel slightly better knowing Iâm not trapped in a dream or hallucinating, and now that I know I was about to DIE Iâm grateful for this BUT but how is this even possible? Has that mirror always been able to do that? You suddenly remember your grandmaâs cryptic message from earlier. Oh my god...did she know?? I thought our world didnât have any magic in it? Why did MY grandmaâs family have this mirror. Wait...the mirrors broken⌠You slowly turn and look at it once more, reminding you that yes, it has definitely broken already. I guess when it breaks on one side the other follows. You stare blankly as realization sets in.
You canât go home.
You turn to face the crew as you speak slowly, voice quivering, eyes full of fear and a little despair.
âI thinkâŚI think that mirror was a portal between our worldsâ you started, voice getting quieter, ââŚand I just broke it.â
A tear rolls down your cheek, you think of your family, your dog and your friends, and immediately wonder if that was the last time youâd ever get to see them
They look uneasy. They donât know how to help. And they still donât really understand how itâs possible for you to be here either. Not to mention the whole TV show thing.
They clearly still had a million questions themselves.
Sanji and Law shot off along with Usopp, and another little quip came from Brook as they descended upon you with their questions about your world and the show and if people thought they were cool (Usopps question obviously). Nami asked about some weather patterns, and Chopper chimed in asking if he could look at your head, while Zoro scolded Sanji for bugging you. Robin and Franky just watched you with a small frown, recognizing this was the last thing you needed. You felt your lungs constrict as your brain was overloaded for the nth time that day and you backed away slowly, trying to catch full breaths.
This was it.
You were really going to lose it this time.
Just as you let the tears slip and the first sharp gasp of air be heard, you felt a rubber arm wrap around you as you were pulled up into someoneâs side, away from the crowd. You looked up in shock to see Luffy holding you against him.
Luffy was standing in front of his crew, his eyes shielded by his hat as his arm let go of you and let his arm snap back to him. His demeanor had completely shifted, the whole crew going silent, including Law. When he spoke, his voice was deep, void of his usual sunshine.
âThatâs enough.â He said firm. âWeâve asked her enough questions for today.â He looked up at his crew now.
âWe know plenty for now. Sheâs been through a lot today and crowding her wonât help her get home any faster.â The crew looked a little ashamed, realizing that they had made the situation worse. You on the other hand were staring in awe at how Luffy had commanded the situation, pulling you to safety. His safety. You knew he wasnât really into women like that, but it still had a way of knocking the air from your lungs. He puts his hand on his hat as he looks at you and speaks again.
âIâm sorry, but I donât think weâll be able to get you home tonight. We can figure it out in the morning, or whenever youâre ready to deal with it.â he smiles gently and your heart relaxes once more. That damn smile. You nod softly, looking out at the water to realize the sun had indeed started to slip below the horizon.
âI think thatâs a wonderful idea captainâ Robin chimes in. âWe should really be getting to dinner soon, sheâs had a long day and Iâm sure she needs something to eatâ she glances over at Sanji, fluttering her eyelashes.
There was that dust cloud again.
Robin made her way to you, her kind eyes offering some comfort.
âCome with me, Iâll show you to the girlâs room and where you can take a shower.â
.
.
About 2 hours passed and you showered, changed, cried a bit, got your head checked out by Law AND Chopper, and now found yourself at a dinner table with the Straw-Hats and Law. You had been able to calm yourself down enough to act like a normal person, though the entire ordeal was still insane in your mind. Your grandmaâs note had offered you some comfort though; it was possible to get back home, but itâs going to be difficult. Good thing you ended up with a crew that could somehow make miracles happen, you thought, smiling to yourself.
The food was delicious and you were very pleased to be able to try Sanjiâs cooking in real life, it definitely lives up to the hype. And thankfully everyone was acting normally about you being there. You were grateful, you had said some very ominous stuff about their sense of reality that wouldâve made you freak out. But they didnât seem to mind one way or the other, and nobody pressed you for details anymore. Instead, they chatted about their lives as usual, as you observed and took it all in.
Law seemed to be acting softer around you as well, the situation having been explained to him by Robin after everything had ended. You still couldnât look him or Zoro in the eyes though. Too many fanfictions were racing through your headâŚyou never thought you were going to meet these fucking people!!!
After dinner they decided it was a beautiful night to have a fire and celebrate a bit more, they still were feeling the pride from their recent victory at Punk Hazard after all, and they had made a new friend today!
You were sitting on the stairs of the ship watching the festivities as everyone hung out by the fire, drinking and laughing with one another. You didnât drink anything, the idea of being drunk right now did not help your anxiety. You wished you had your joints though. Good god how you wished.
As you were lamenting about all your stuff disappearing from your pockets as you teleported into a new world, Law appeared next to you and sat down. You froze and glanced up at him, feeling lightheaded once more.
You didnât say anything and for a second, he didnât either, just analyzed your expression. Then he spoke,
âIâm sorry for my behavior todayâ
You just stared at him, not knowing where this was going to go
âI have a lot on my plate right now, but I shouldnât have been snapping at you with the rest of those idiotsâŚthey canât seem to do anything calmlyâŚif they screw this up for me I swear..â he mutters to himself
You chuckled, witnessing his angst in real time. You thought for a second at how you felt for Law. That poor man needed a hug and a vacation to the Bahamas stat. He looked at you again before he spoke once more.
âYou said you know what happens to all of us for the next few months right??â
âOh uhâŚ.yeaâ you say sheepishly, the idea unnerving you once more.
ââŚDid I make the right call allying with these guys?â he asked, his eyes showing a hint of fear.
Oh boy..
Your mind suddenly flooded with the thoughts of Law being manhandled by almost everyone in Dressrosa, the countless times Luffy is going to 180 his plans, all the absurdity heâs about to be put through; It was so ironic that before you knew it you were laughing out loud, so loud in fact that the whole crew stopped to look at you.
Law did not like that reaction. At all. He looked at you nervously before you composed yourself
âI am so sorryâ you say chuckling. You look out at the straw-hat crew, who seem to be pleased to hear your laugh. Your heart swells for a moment as you think about what these people mean to you. The symbolism of their story and how inspired theyâve made you and millions like you feel for years
âYesâ you continue, âYou definitely made the right call.â
He lets out a small sigh of relief, before scrunching his face once more.
âWhy are you laughing then?â
âOh, because itâs not going to go how you think AT ALL, like AT ALLâ you say starting to laugh again. You put your hand on his shoulder and lock eyes with him
âYou are in for one hell of a ride Traffy.â
He tenses once again at your cryptic words, starting to regret asking you once he realized youâre more like them than he thought. You laugh a bit more and slap his shoulder playfully. He asks you what you mean and demands more details. You go quiet as you realize that you canât give any more details, for fear of messing everything up.
Before you can stutter out an apology, Luffy is already up on the stairs next to you. Heâs also laughing as he comes up and slaps Lawâs other shoulder.
âAww donât worry about it Traffy! You heard her, she already said I totally kick Doflamingos ass, so you can trust me!â his eyes shine proudly as if he had already won the battle. âWhy would you want to know how your life plays out anyways youâll find out soon enough right?â he put simply.
âBesides, I thought I already told you to stop bugging her about that.â His voice deepens for a moment, his expression shifting into something more serious.
âI donât want to know what she knows, and she doesnât have to tell us. Sheâs with me now on my ship and sheâs uncomfortable. I wonât continue to let her feel that way anymore.â
Law goes silent as you look up at Luffy, your heart exploding on the inside. You thank him silently as you realize how exhausted you are. You stifle a yawn which grabs Luffyâs attention again. He looks back to you, voice softening.
âCâmon, Iâll take you to the captainâs quarters. I think youâve had enough for todayâ sensing your exhaustion and hesitation.
âThe captains quarters?â You question âIsnât that your room?â
Luffy laughs. âNahhh, I donât ever sleep in there it pretty much just stays empty. I figured you would like the privacy though. Since were not supposed to be real to you and thatâs probably a bit freaky stillâ he says completely unaffected.
Your breath catches. You forgot how emotionally intelligent he was, he read you like a book. You nodded slightly as he walked up the stairs, turning around and gesturing for you to follow. You stood up and apologized once more to Law and looked back at the crew, who were saying their goodnights to you
You uttered a shy one back as you began to follow Luffy up the stairs. Law opened his mouth to protest once more but was shut down immediately.
âWait a minute you donât get to tell me what to-
âI said thatâs enough.â Luffy growled. âDrop itâ
â...I-
âNow.â
And you best believe he did. Luffy waited for you at the top of the stairs and led you into the ship, away from the rest of the crew. His demeanor shifted instantly, no longer needing to be intense, and his presence calmed you once more. You walk in silence to the room until you break it.
âThank you forâŚeverything today actually.â You recalled him helping you out earlier when you were about to have a full psychotic breakdown.
Luffy stopped walking to turn around and look at you. He smiled again
âOf course!â he trailed off looking contemplative for a moment.
âIâmâŚsorryâ he apologized.
âFor what?â
âFor making you fall through the mirrorâ he said, quieter this time, his big eyes looking apologetic
âWhat are you talking about? Iâm the one that made the mirror fall on meâ you said quickly, feeling guilt overwhelm you at the sight of his expression,
âYea but I scared you when I stuck my face throughâ his frown deepened âand thatâs why the mirror fellâ
You were silent. He wasnât totally wrong, but you didnât see it as his fault at all.
âAnd I know you said you liked this world and everything but now the mirrors broken and youâre stuck here and itâs my fault. All I wanted to do was talk to the pretty girlâ he continued on, voice laced with guilt as he fiddled with his hands a bit.
You opened your mouth, but no words came at first. Did he just say prett-no okay stop. You reigned in your thoughts as you thought of a response. He looked like he felt so bad; and it was eating you alive.
âLuffyâ you said slowly, noticing how his eyes were glued to the ground. You didnât force him to make eye contact, always hating the feeling when you were in intense situations as well.
âYouâŚdefinitely startled me when your face popped up into the mirror, but I think you saved my life.â He perks his head up at your words. You continue.
âI donât know how the portal works or anything, I had just gotten that mirror from my grandma and when I touched the glass the first time, I never went throughâ you remembered.
âI was being an idiot and decided to move it down the stairs by myself, and yea, you showed up, but so did a rat. I jumped backwards on the stairs, and I fell backwards with the mirror coming after me.â
Luffy is clinging on to your every word. Youâre surprised.
He remembers the look on your face as you came through. You looked into the mirror as if it was the last thing youâd ever see, and he was confused as to why it shattered as you came through
âIf you didnât already have your face through the portal when it fell on top of me, I donât think I would have gone through it.â you say, thoughts turning dark as you pictured the image of you crushed underneath it once more.
Luffy understands what you meant so you donât elaborate further. Itâs quiet for a beat. You speak again.
âSoâŚthank you for being yourself I guess.â You smile at him, feeling like that sums it up.
âYea but you still canât get home thoughâ
âWell actually, my grandma left a note with the mirror, it was pretty cryptic, but she did mention that it could be repaired; although she didnât say how and that it was very difficult.â You sighed, wishing she left you with more guidance.
Luffyâs eyes lit up at that. He instantly changed his demeanor and finally spoke.
âWell why didnât you say that!! We can totally get you home then! He laughed. âRobin is super smart so we can have her read her books and sheâll totally find out whatâs going on.â He started, eyes widening as he started to envision a grand adventure behind his eyes. God how you wished you could see it. âAnd then Nami will find the island, and Iâll do all the punching..man I really hope thereâs someone for me to punch! And then when we fix the mirror, we can visit your home, and you can throw us a feast!!â He declared putting his hands on his hips like he did when you first met him.
You quite liked how he moved on from things so quickly, never letting a situation stay sad for too long. His positivity really did have a way of infecting you; I mean he was the Sun God after all. It always seemed natural on screen, and you found quickly that it translated in person too.
âNow câmon, were almost there, you should really get some sleep! I had Robin put some stuff in there so it would be cozy for you.â he grabs your hand and leads you the rest of the way to the room.
As he pulled you along you felt a certainty settle within you for the first time that day. You were going to be okay. Luffy was going to make sure of it. They all were. You were confused and scared and exhausted, but deep down you were thrilled, knowing that you just won the opportunity of a lifetime.

It all happened so fast. By the time it was over you didnât even know it had begun. You and your crew were leaving Elbaph after an extended stay and you wereâŚtipsy to say the least. As everyone boarded the Red Force you noticed that Shanks had been stopped by a surge of his adoring allies, all begging him to stay a while longer.
You took a moment to admire your captain, who you had come to know so well. He would do anything to protect the people he cares about in the drop of a (straw) hat, which heâs proven time and time again. You watch as he sheepishly peels the girls off him while uttering his apologies. When they press on, he reminds them that Captain Kid is steadily making his way to them, voice turning serious for a moment as he warns them to back off. Shit, thatâs right. In your drunken haze you had forgotten why the crew was even leaving in the first place. You honestly werenât surprised that Kid was coming for another emperor so soon after the events of Wano. You always thought he was an idiot, witnessing the events of him losing his arm the first time he thought he could take down Shanks.
His pure, unadulterated ignorance and grandiose he flaunted could almost be mistaken for confidence if you squinted. But as you watched your 2nd in command slice through his flesh without hesitation, all you could think was how pathetic he looked, not even getting close to the man he so desperately sought after. Also unsurprisingly, Shanks let him go. Decided it wasnât worth the cost of the lives lost.
You leaned against the railing on the side of the ship as you lit a joint. You could see Kidâs ship off in the distance, allied ships starting to surround him. It was a shame, you thought. Shanks had enough kindness in his heart to let him go the first time, and yet, he somehow thought that taking down the old hag (with help, mind you) was enough of an ego boost to come back for more.
You pondered on about the situation as you smoked, watching the situation unfold and enjoying the buzz you were starting to feel that came from being crossed. You werenât worried. There was a certain security that you felt being with Shanks. You were strong and you had been on your own for the longest time before he showed up, so you know how to survive. You had to. But once you joined up with him that all changed. He started taking care of you, defending you from impending danger before you even knew it was there, as if he had always been watching.
And you thought your observation haki was good.
He was always there, always anticipating your needs, always showing up before you even knew you needed him and somewhere along the way, you started to rely on him. Your walls melted down with zero hesitation the second he wrapped his arms around you, promising that he would never let you suffer another ounce of pain if he could help it. He brought you a security you never knew you could have with someone, and you didnât even have to ask for it. And not to mention how drop dead gorgeous he was and my god, the things he can do with that hand. Your mind starts to wander as your joint burns away, forgotten in favor of one of your more tantalizing vices.
God youâre so drunk. You glance over and see the star of your current fantasies reading the intel that was gathered on his current target. Youâre entranced by his serious, yet calm demeanor as he read the pages aloud. His voice is so rough yet silky that you almost forget how to breathe. You want him to swallow you whole, you decide.
You now direct your attention to Benn who was currently pulling out a cigarette. âFuckâ you think. âThat is an amazing ideaâ. You wonder if heâll give you your own when suddenly Shanks launches off the ship, shouting orders as he descends upon Kid and his crew. Confusion takes over for a moment as the ship suddenly picks up pace, chasing after their captain who was now long gone.
Benn chuckles as he lit his cigarette, âhe mustâve seen a future he didnât likeâ he states knowingly.
You glance over your shoulder back to where Kidâs ship is and in an instant the sky had turned dark, sparks of red shattering across the sky as Shankâs haki bloomed in its entirety. Itâs so intense that you can feel it from where youâre standing. Itâs never felt strong enough to make you lose consciousness even when he was standing right next to you though. It always felt like more of a warm blanket to you, always caressing you and holding you every time he uses it, always grounding you, a sense of protection washing over you, his protection.
You were sure he takes care to make it that way, you thought.
You watch on as you feel his Haki surround you, its energy raw and raging, when all of a sudden its grip on you feels entirely too suffocating. It lasts only for a second though as you see an explosion off in the distance. Itâs sudden and dramatic, a wash of red and purple shockwaves spread through the ocean, sending massive waves to shore. You instantly felt the release of his Haki flow through you, and you stare off into the distance in awe.
âIts never felt like that beforeâ you think to yourself. âI wonder what he couldâve see-
âHell, he almost got meâŚall these years and Iâve never seen him charge up so fastâ you whip your head around to look at Benn, whoâs now smirking at the fallen crew members who arenât quite strong enough to withstand the power that Shanks has yet. You noticed even more than usual were knocked out today.
You knew instantly that Shanks had won. It was a futile attempt on Kids end, and you pondered for a moment if he had some death wish he was trying to fulfill, because the best way to achieve this would be to piss off Shanks...twice.
As the Red Force sailed next to the Victoria Punk, you got a full view of the scene that had unfolded, confirming all your suspicions. But you couldnât even bring yourself to care about that fallen arrogant punk ass when you saw your captain standing over him. He was the most beautiful thing you had ever seen. His red hair blew over his face as he stared down what was left of Kidâs crew.
Someone was handing him the copies of the poneglyphs they had collected and as he reached out to grab them, the sight of his rough and calloused hand made your mind go blank. You loved when he was soft but seeing him handle business was something youâd never tire of. Thoughts of that hand all over you flooded your mind again as Shanks turned towards the ship and jumped back on. He handed Yassop the copies before immediately commanding the ship to sail off.
He looked around for a moment, clearly deep in thought before his eyes settled on you. Instantly softening, he walks up to you from behind and wraps you in his arm and cloak, holding you close as he rested his head on top of yours, placing a soft kiss there.
You welcomed his touch, leaning back into his arms and bringing yours up to cling onto his as you watched Dorry and Broggy load up to absolutely demolish what was left of the Victoria Punk.
You sigh dramatically as the shockwave rips through the ship, sending pieces of it flying into the ocean.
âOhhhhh wellâŚâ you say watching the spectacle, feigning faux sadness.
âHe shouldâve thought twice before he came back for more. Guess he didnât get enough the first timeâ you say, looking up at him as you reach your hand up to cup his face.
He looks down at you, eyes filled with adoration, and a little bit of fear, you notice. You want to ask but you donât push. He looks back up at the ocean again and sighs.
âitâs a shame, poor kid had some real potential, rather unfortunate but he left me with no other choiceâ
âEhh, he got what he deserved.â You shrugged. âHe killed my buzz I was ready to crack open another round! Heâs lucky I didnât get hold of him firstâ you mutter taking another drag of your joint.
Shanks just laughs and holds you closer, listening to you ramble on about nothing in particular, glad you can feel safe enough with him to not worry over any threats that may come your way.
You suddenly jump up and turn around in Shankâs hold. âHey! Benny! Gimme a cig! I know you rolled plenty back at the barâ you jest, suddenly remembering what you were doing before that punk tried to show off.
Benn laughs as he offers a fresh one up for you.
Your eyes widen as you break free from Shankâs grasp to run towards the nicotine buzz you were so desperately craving, your drunken haze taking over once again as the situation at hand dies down, already being forgotten. Shanks of course let you go, and chuckled as he watched you light the cigarette, taking a hit of it and the joint at the same time. Getting caught up in chatting with your crew, Shanks takes a moment to admire your carefree and outgoing nature. It took a while for you to feel this safe with the crew and he worked hard to make sure you felt that way. Heâd never been the type to have more than a one-night stand on a new island now and again but after meeting you, he changed his ways in a heartbeat. You were different. You were his.

Something about you had hooked him from the very first time he met you. It was at some bar on some island you both werenât from. Just passing by.
Now, Shanks does know a thing or two about the ladies and does like to flirt but he usually has zero, and I mean ZERO problems finding a lover. They usually come to him in droves, and his night usually ends with him leaving with one very lucky lady and a couple (dozen) broken hearts.
He was so used to being approached that he hadnât used his skills in probably⌠ah fuck! years at this point, heâd realized. And when you made it clear that if you wanted to chat, HE would have to approach YOUâŚhe got nervous. He took one more shot (great idea!) and walked over to you.
And well, letâs just say he fumbled.
So,
so
hard.
He was a little mortified and ready to call it when he noticed that you were fucking loving it. To be fair, he had you from the start. It was Shanks after all, câmon now, and you were NOT about to blow this chance. But he didnât know that yet.
He also didnât know that you loved to mess with people.
And something about the big, strong Yonko fumbling over his words and coming up short to your quips had you hooked. You knew what he was capable of. And yet, here he was acting like a schoolboy asking a girl to dance for the first time.
You toyed with him a bit more before giving in and letâs just say⌠he made up for his awkwardness fairly quickly.
The rest is history.
Youâve been with him for 6 years now, and heâs still surprised to find heâs learning new things about you every day. You have a devil fruit (the only exception heâs ever made on his crew) and your Haki rivals that of a warlord. You were on the run when he met you, the government had kept you prisoner for years for use as a lab rat, but Vegapunk set you free, the years of being complicit to a young childâs trauma eating away at his conscious. you had rather he killed you than set you free, you had thought, when you found out Vegapunk concealed his aid in abetting you by saying you had escaped on your own.
Knowing so many of the governmentâs secrets, and not knowing the effects of some of the experiments that had been done on you, the 5 elders were eager to get their hands back on you. You had an astonishing 100,000,000 berry bounty right off the bat, without ever committing a single crime.
You had been fighting for your life ever since. A seemingly endless swarm of marines and pirates, and even civilians were after you. You were thrown from enslavement into a fight for your survival without ever getting a chance to breathe. Finding that devil fruit saved your life. It gave you a chance. You went from crawling away covered in blood, barely escaping with your life, praying for some sort of hideout, desperately searching for anything that can keep you safe, to making them forget you were even there at all. You had eaten the think-think fruit, which had granted you the ability to hear and manipulate other peopleâs thoughts at will. Anyone whose mind wasnât strong enough against mental attacks fell victim to your powers. You were finally able to gain control. You were finally able to breathe.
Meeting Shanks only solidified that feeling as he took the rest of the weight off your shoulders and offered you a place to rest, a place to call home. No more running. And since he was an emperor, the government knew that starting a war with him could mean utter destruction for them. So, a sort of cold war has been in place ever since, the government leaving you be, as long as you donât go spouting off about what had happened, more pissed than anything that you were able to be shielded by such a powerful figure.
Shanks didnât hesitate for a moment when they asked for you though. He was ready to burn the whole world down at the mere thought of giving you up to them. He couldnât imagine betraying you in such a way, not when he had already held you so close, not when he had seen the look in your eyes when they showed up.
No.
Fucking.
Way.
He worked hard to make you feel safe, and he would do anything to keep it that way. Shanks turns back to the sea, his attention returning towards the remnants of Kids sinking ship. He now lingers on the future he prevented, the almost real future his observation Haki showed him if he hadnât acted right then and there, and he cringed internally. Death. Everywhere. Every ally ship, destroyed in a single beam. And then, the unimaginable happened. A second beam heading directly for the Red Force hurling directly towards you, who could do nothing but stare in shock as you were instantly evaporated when the beam made impact with the ship.
You didnât even have time to react.
Just gone.
The last thing he felt as the shockwave overtook him was complete and utter anguish. The helplessness he felt at failing to protect his crew, at protecting you, hit him harder than any punch ever could. In an instant he was moving, realizing that Kid had real power, and a real chance to take away everything he held dearly.
He moved fast, and before he knew what had happened, it was over. He even ended up with copies of the poneglyphs somehow. Truth be told he couldnât give a shit about the poneglyphs right now, he just needed to make sure that any threat to you was taken care of before he could see clearly again. His fists tightened against the railings as he bubbled with anger, only for you to reappear beside him once more, pulling him from his thoughts.
You sensed the tension behind his eyes again as you stared up at him, offering some comfort. âYou donât need to worry about it anymore, I promiseâ you said softly as you slipped back into his arm, nestling your head in between his neck and shoulder, placing soft kisses there. âWhatever you saw wonât happen, you made sure of itâ He wraps his arm around you tightly as he buries his head into your neck, grounding himself as he reminds himself that what he saw was only his Haki, that youâre still here, and youâre not going anywhere.
You stayed like that for a while as the sun set, listening to the background chatter of the crew as you two maintained a comfortable silence in each otherâs arms, unspoken promises of forever drifting into the sea for her to hold onto. Shanks worked hard to make you feel this safe, and heâll be damned if anything gets in his way.
