getting into the tf community

As part of doing the Double Helix Podcast, we’ve had enough questions come through from people wanting to know some good starting steps for getting into the TF community that we thought it would be a good idea to put together a list of some places to start. This list isn’t absolutely all the options available obviously, but we’re aiming to provide at least some options of nice, easier places to start mingling with people in the TF community in some way, if for now you feel like you’re just on the outside looking in. Not all of these options might work for all people too, but hopefully there’ll be something there that’s helpful for folks.
Twitter/Tumblr - these are probably the easiest places to start actually interacting with people who you know share an interest in TF with you outside of leaving comments on FurAffinity or something. It’s a good way to get to know people at least a little bit, and you can find out you have a lot more in common with them than you’d thought, and wind up getting on really well, but all without having to, say, start a Skype conversation with them directly. From there you should be able to find people that we follow that you also like! As for Tumblr, Angrboda has one of those going, aside from the one for the podcast, but you can check out the stuff she posts and reblogs at http://monstrousdoctor.tumblr.com
Streams - attending art streams of people who do TF art is a really good way to meet a bunch of people who are all interested in that, as well as interacting with them and their audience. Some suggestions of people’s streams to keep an eye out for are:

All of these people stream stuff at least sometimes, and hopefully those links should be good places to hear about it happening.
Fetlife - this is definitely a way more directly adult option, but if you fancy there’s definitely some related groups that you can investigate. This is actually maybe one of the best options for people looking for an old style forum, since groups on there often have a wide range of topics (that sometimes don’t even involve sex). Searching “transformation” in groups brings up a ton of hits on topics ranging from general (“human to animal transformation”) to much more specific.
