The Inevitable is a virus that is classified as a world eater. The virus first silently infects a set location within a world and slowly grows roots outwards, it is not infectious at this moment in time however once the first 'attack' happens the virus becomes incredibly infectious to any worlds that interact with it.

What are the attacks?

The virus eats the world in stages, first spreads underground and tries to reach every space it can. Interestingly enough it hides deep underground. To most it would seem like nothing has changed. Next, it devours all living creatures. Hunting them down by utilising the 'monsters' it creates.

Third it tries to spread further, slowly creeping across the world further, it will launch attacks when it senses a large group of living creatures. However the longer it goes between attacks less and less living creatures are needed to trigger another attack. Once all living creatures are completely wiped out the world begins to crumble as the virus devours its existence.

During this time the virus may pull in living beings in order to feed on them if it's still able to, however it cannot spread through it's own portals as worlds naturally resist the virus from entering. Only forced openings by portals that are not "naturally" occurring can spread the virus. However it can make use of there natural openings to bring in living beings to its current realm/

These monsters do not have a mind of their own, they are a sort of hive mind that follows basic commands from the core of the roots but it isn't technically sentient.

Can you remove the inevitable from a world?

No, the world is fully compromised after it reaches that world.

Is there anything that can contain The Inevitable?

Large bodies of water can temporarily contain The Inevitable.

Choice Pathways

The Choice pathways are an explanation of the three main routes the story can start off with.

Main characters for the Choice Pathways are:

Doodle [15-17]

Omie [16-18]

Leon [17-19]

Doodle is 15 when the story starts and 17 by the time the attack by the Inevitable (Virus) starts.

The storyline starts within the Star region and stays within the star region for every choice pathways. Future timelines differ in location.

Why/how did The Inevitable (Virus) get into the world? The star region is known for utilising portals, some even are able to portal between worlds however due to safety concerns members of the public have to travel with restrictions and secure/monitored portals when travelling between worlds (inner world travel is not restricted however). It was made illegal to travel between worlds without these restrictions especially within their home world. The virus entered the world due to a member of the public opening a portal between worlds illegally. Their reasons for doing so is unknown as the individual was never caught.

When the virus is discovered

After the virus is found the civilisation immediately panics as they desperately try to figure out what this is and if they can cure it. Most results come back null or with very little information on the problem. They note that they cannot see much growth or change after months of observation and come to the assumption that whatever it is it is dormant. They continue to study it but calm as a year goes by. Portals are restricted more and many are shut down as a just in case.

Does the outcome change if they figure out that the virus is present within their world?

No. They just discover it in the main timeline route.

When the 'attack' starts

It's the middle of the night, no prior signs on the days leading up however slowly the roots of the virus glow a toxic pink hue, seeping throughout the city and other parts of the regions. The glowing seems to grow. Some wake up concerned and confused. Stepping outside and into the cold of night before a strong earthquake like rumble occurs followed by the cracking and emerging on tall beasts bigger than most of the cities buildings. They stand still, more people alerted and heading outside to escape their homes still unaware of what's occurring. The monsters are unleashed upon the civilians and hunt down as many as they can.

Choice Pathway Splits In all three pathways a split occurs when one of the monsters destroys a structure/building nearby the trio, Doodle gets partially stuck under the rubble and injured due to it. Her wings are crumpled and unusable and her left leg is broken. The split depends on whether her friends choose to help her or not.

Safe Choice

Within the Safe choice route Doodle is helped by Leon and Omie to the docks where they manage to board the boat. They do not leave her behind after she was injured. All three escape and live.

They inform other civilisations of the virus and warn them. Precautions are put in place which helps to delay and manage to virus's spread.

All three live until they die of old age. However Doodle eventually splits off from the other two in her early 30's due to disagreements among the trio.

Panic Choice

In the Panic choice route Omie and Leon choose to leave doodle behind in the rubble and make an escape towards the inner land.

Doodle somehow is able to avoid being detected by the monsters and uses a piece of wooden rubble in order to prop herself up and move around. She's confused as to where her friends went and tries to find them while the attack is still unfolding. She travels on the outskirts of the housing area to try and find them eventually leaving the city where she finds them both in the distance.

However before she can reach them she sees both Leon and Omie being murdered by one of the monsters as they were caught. She's unable to do anything to help in her current state and can only watch. She takes off her pendant before trying to leave the area and travel down the sides of an icy river to avoid being seen while trying to reach the Sun region. Eventually she has to shift towards the centre as the walls grow higher in height as she turns into a walled area.

However one of the monsters (Stalker type) follows behind her eventually crushing her from a high vantage point with a bolder which smashes the ice on the surface of the river. Doodles dies shortly after.

Leons Choice [Main timeline route]

In the Leons choice route Omie and Leon choose to leave doodle behind in the rubble and make an escape towards the docks.

Doodle somehow is able to avoid being detected by the monsters and uses a piece of wooden rubble in order to prop herself up and move around. She's confused as to why her friends left her behind and follows the best she can towards the docks. She managed to make it there collapsing on the dock while watching her friends already sailing away. She calls out to them over and over, only Leon looks back. He looks at her with a disgusted face. Omie doesn't face her. She watches them disappear into the dark ocean unable to comprehend that she's been left behind.

She gets up after hearing the noises of the monsters throughout the city behind her grow louder and she makes her wake to the outskirts of the city, trying to find help somewhere else. She can't think properly, whether due to injury or betrayal isn't really important to her right now. She sees a distant village being treated with the same fate as the city, she decides to chance her luck on an icy river bed to try and sneak across to the Sun region. Surely the Sun region would be prepared for something like this.

However during her travel down the river one of the monsters (Stalker type) follows behind her eventually crushing her from a high vantage point with a bolder which smashes the ice on the surface of the river. Doodles dies shortly after.

You must fight to keep the goo tm, this will spark much hatred and tragedy between you two until the day you have to team up against the goo tm. By the time this is done your sentence will have finished 2 years prior.
