jamie has always admired roy kent, even was there watching roy on the podium last year, winning the silverstone grand prix miraculously. maybe it was silly, but jamie just couldn’t shake the admiration he’s held since the roy kent joined the grid.

despite that admiration, jamie also knew he would never concede to roy. he might admire roy but that doesn’t mean he isn’t better than roy. jamie made a promise to himself at the beginning of the season that he’d prove that he’s better than the roy kent, that he will be world champion.

jamie thought the mental aspect of it would be more difficult, being teammates with his practical hero, but it turns out roy kent fucking hates him. they do their smiles for the media and the stupid games the team pays them to do, but beyond the cameras, roy kent refuses to even look in jamie’s direction.
