My brain:what if instead of being productive, why we dont spend our time categorizing each monogatari arc in underrated, overrated, properly rated(everybody hates it) and properly rated(everybody likes it)???
(Yes i know this is random, my brain is just like that sometimes,anyways heres the ranking
-hitagi crab-properly rated(everybody likes it)
-mayoi snail-slightly underrated
-suruga monkey-also slightly underrated but less then mayoi snail
-nadeko snake-properly rated(EVERYBODY HATES IT)
-tsubasa cat-slightly overrated but still good
-Koyomi vamp-great but DEFINITLY OVERRATED(like people put it as one of best arc and while i think its still good, it definitly not the best monogatari has to offer, like the fanservice of hanekawa while i understand it has a point its stillâŚ.too much for me)
-Karen bee-this arc doesnt have the best reputation but considering how bad it is on its own(its great build up for future arcs but in of itself its not very good)it still manages to be overrated
-tsukihi phoenix-same thing as above
-Tsubasa family-i Mean its properly rated in the sense that everybody kinda Said âmehâ to it
-tsubasa tiger-this arc is already loved by many BUT ITS NOT ENOUGH.UNDERRATED
-mayoi jiangshi-properly rated in the âits goodâvibe
-suruga devil:UNDERRATED.UNDERRATED.UNDERRATED LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST ARCS OF THE SERIES WHY IS NOT EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT THIS???THIS ARC IS THE BEST CARACTER ANALYSISS OF KANBARU OUT THERE AND YOUNG LESBIANS WOULD LOVE IT THE ONLY MOTIVE IT DOES NOT GET THE RECOGNITION IT DESERVES ITS BECAUSE MONOGATARI FANS ARE DUMB AND ONLY CARE ABOUT THE FANSERVICE AND HYPE MOMENTS
-nadeko medusa-SAME THING AS SURUGA DEVIL BUT SOMEHOW EVEN WORSE???LIKE WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU FIND NADEKO ANNOYNG????DID YOU MISS THE ENTIRE POINT???LIKE SERIOUSLY ONLY THIS BOOK ELEVATED NADEKO TO ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING CARACTERS AND MADE HER MY FAVORITE OF THE ENTIRE SERIES, IF YOU ONLY STARTED LIKING NADEKO AFTER NADEKO DRAW YOU ARE A FAKE FAN AND NEVER UNDERSTOOD HER CARACTER TO BEGIN WITH ONLY LIKING HER BECAUSE SHE BECAME MORE TRADITIONALLY LIKABLE
-Shinobu time-overrated, but not too much considering how good the ending and the shinobu backstory is,its just that it simply doesnt have a very good middle(like you could trully FEEL the amount of meandering after a while) and while mayoi death hurt,the kiss kinda broke the sadness for me considering SHE IS A CHILDand the fanservice were kinda disgusting (LIKE REMEMBER THEYRE CHILDREN)
-hitagi end-properly rated in the sense that if you did not like this arc YOU SIMPLY DONT EXIST IN THIS WORLD ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO WATCH MONOGATARI AND NOT THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS TO EXIST IN THIS WORLD SINCE THE JESUS WAS BORN(AND I COMPLETLY AGREE WITH THAT TAKE)
-yotsugi doll-same as tsubasa family, great build up and the themes explored are definitly interesting but at the same time the execution is just meh
-all the arcs im koyomimonogatari except of koyomi dead-properly rated in the sense that nobody talks about it and theres trully nothing to talk about here
-koyomi dead-UNDERRATED!!!like the protag DIED and yet nobody talks about it its kinda shocking(also gaen was amazing in that tale)
-ougi formula-i Mean its literally only two caracters stuck in a old classroom while one of them does that one meme of âits here where my(parentes)sense of justice died ougiâyet the conversation is SOO FUCKING GOOD and the backstory SOO STRONG AS WELL AS THE THEMES that it definitly deserves more recognition. And also ougis there and everyone knows that when ougi is the focoused caracter of the arcâŚ.its gonna be peak monogatari.UNDERRATED
-sodachi riddle-ALL SODACHI ARCS ARE BANGERS PLUS OUGI IS HERE PLUS NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THESE ARCS ONLY BECAUSE THEYRE LESS FLASHY AND MORE REALISTIC TO REAL LIFE TRAUMA.UNDERRATED
-sodachi lost-EVERYTHING I SAID ABOVE BUT SOMEHOW EVEN STRONGER HERE. plus that one scene of araragi finally deciding to not look away for things he found sad disgusting or unconfortable and the fact of hanekawa being one of the caracter to make him do this, and how that relates to her caracter development aswell and also her empathy towards sodachis as another victim of abuse OMG THIS ARC IS SOOO GOOD WTF AND THE FACT THAT NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THIS ARC EXCEPT FOF THAT ONE SCENE(that i already did a post about how its not that badass moment of araragi everyone thinks it is)AND NOT THE FUCKIN AMAZING ENDING ANGERS ME!!!!!UNDERRATED
-shinobu mail-okay HOT TAKE ALERT but SHIBOBU TIME IS NOT THAT GOOD.YEAH FIGHT ME!!!while i do agree that that one scene of Kanbaru calling out shinobu hipocrisy IS ONE OF THE BEST SCENES EVER i still think that scene and shinobus coming to terms of her past in the end kinda carry and otherwise mediocre arc. I think araragis perspective of Kanbaru kinda takes a lot from her caracter(thats why i love suruga devil sooo much as it shown how Kanbaru percives herself despite how Cheerfull she acts)her sexual gags are not very funny aswell and most of the arc is spent either on that or on goose chase of everyone going âWHERE IS (insert people they want to meet)âplus im just not a big fan of love trianglesâŚ.yeah i know that theyre not exactly a romantic love triangle and a i understand its importance for both araragi(He noticing he is worth shinobus love)and shinobu(letting go of the past and moving into the future after confronting both her and seishirous mistakes)but likeâŚi dont careâŚ.araragi is already disputed and loved by everyone and harem aspects where always were monogatari kinda lost me soooo yeah.Maybe its only me but FOR ME its overrated
-mayoi hell-i MeanâŚ.i have complicated feelingsâŚ.like great build up for future arcs but i couldnt get most of the teori explanation and i still dont understand gaens plan completly. For its emotional side i think araragi thinking about how far he is gone throught the story and reflecting of the worthness of all his conections is definitly very good and makes the conclusion he comes at the end of the worthness of his life even better. I would definitly say that someone with more brain power then me would think that this arc is underrated for me its definitly properly rated in the same sense of mayoi jiangshi. Its good,nobody thinks is the best shit ever but nobody thinks is the worse shit aswellâŚits good,
-Hitagi rendesvouz:its cuteâŚ.i love how kinda of reflexive and melacholichy it feels like you can sense how much everyone has grown and you know the ending is near. Its the calm Before the storm in a sense. Also senjougahara and araragi had grown so much in theyre relationship as well its good to see al theyre effort and love pay up in something beutifullâŚits definitly underrated considering how beutifull this arc is but i can see why nobody talks about it seeing as its one of the quieter monogatari arcs
-ougi dark-i MeanâŚ.do i have to say anything???its the payoff of the payoff, the resolution of everything, and it trully is able to live up to all the expectations and more!!!its a fantastic conclusion of araragis adolescence and it even if everyone loved this arc ITS NEVER ENOUGH!!!!EVERYONE ON PLANET EARTH SHOULD WATCH IT!!!UNDERRATED
-koyomi reverse-its a great epilogue and caracter study of araragi and not much else.,..most caracters do nothing is this arc and yet what it does with araragi is sooo good that its still manages to be underrated if a little properly rated not going into that category because not many people talk about that arc
(Guys im not gonna put off and monster because the anime has not adapted all of them and what they have adapted its out of order sĂł when i read the novels im gonna edit this one to put the off and monster season here aswell)
