I started playing Countdown Vampires. This 1999 game is a ruthless clone of my favorite game, Resident Evil 1, but with its own unique features. I'm not quite comfortable with it yet.

The game's plot revolves around a tragedy that occurred at the Desert Moon Casino. It's the beginning of a new millennium party, and important guests have gathered. Suddenly, a fire breaks out and the fire-extinguishing system is activated, but instead of water, a black liquid of unknown origin flows from the valves. All the guests begin to transform into vampires. This is where our protagonist, Keith Snyder, who is a bodyguard, comes into play.

Soon, he accidentally discovers that a certain "white water" can restore the vampires to their human form. This rooster covers the first vampire girl with his coat, and now he will be half-naked throughout the game. Oh, this fan service.)

I tried it, I didn't like it, I didn't finish it. At the beginning, the game focuses on good and quite diverse stealth, and then it starts giving you firearms and zones that cannot be passed without them, as if devaluing what happened before. I don't like that. If it were possible to choose whether to go through stealth or with firearms, it would be better purely for my taste. Moreover, shooting here also feels boring because of the auto-aiming. I didn't understand the plot, but it's my fault: I didn't play the first game. Anyway, I decided to delete Manhunt 2, as I said, without finishing it.😒

The time counter at the end of the game showed me 7 hours, 48 minutes and 23 seconds, but in fact I spent more time of my life on this masterpiece, because there were still many unsaved takes. I also watched two endings. Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix was way ahead of its time (2001), as was the first game. Even the art was given out at the end. I don't regret the time I spent. The game will appeal to those who like cinematic scenes and dislike the limited gameplay of classic Resident Evil.)
