retroachievements either be like "finish stage 3 (15)" or "beat the game on hardest difficulty in one life without using any of the game's core mechanics or doing anything fun (2)"
In celebration to RetroAchievements getting Wii support.

Funniest behavior I have encountered on the RetroAchievements website is seeing disproportionate complaints about certain achievements. Now, granted, sometimes achievement sets are made by Genuine Freaks, but for the most part those sets are cofined to subsets; things like "do the world record speedrun strategy" or "beat the game 10 times in a row" are a bit much, even for the Arbitrary Challenge website.
But then sometimes there's an achievement that is simply difficult and people act like it's the end of the world.
This achievement is pretty tricky! It requires some real firm understanding of the mechanics of Super Mario 64. I had to look up a video of how exactly this could be done, and even with that it still took me like 30-40 minutes to actually do it. But I would also consider this to be the exact kind of thing the Arbitrary Challenge website should be about, because if it was just limited to developer-intended gameplay and completion, it would just be a tracker. Which would also be neat but not nearly as satisfying as doing an Arbitrary Challenge.
All of this is to say, this is all really fostering my urge to say "git gud".
