The Lost Boys Musical AU where Michael is deaf and when he meets the boys he explains how he can feel the vibrations of their music and he really loves their songs.

David knows sign language because he picked up on it when he was a soldier. He gets some new lessons for more modern signing/vocabulary, and hires an ASL interpreter for their shows. David still likes to sign himself during his performance because he wants to "sing" directly to Michael.

When they start dating, he ends every show with the "I love you" sign pointed right at Michael. The audience assumes he's doing it to say he loves his fans (or they mistake it for the "rock on" sign), but Michael knows it's just for him 🤟

"Now, Orpheus was the son of a muse. And you know how those muses are. Sometimes they abandon you," but it's David.

Okay but I’ve always felt like Star was very Eurydice coded and Michael was Orpheus coded. Because in “Hurt a Little”

• Star says to Michael “at least you have one” about having a family. Eurydice say “I was alone so long I didn’t even know that I was lonely.” And “All I’ve ever known is how to hold my own.”

• Star says “What you really need is to check your speed… take it slow down that road you don’t know where it will lead… you might find the wrong kind of fun…” she’s careful. She’s worried about survival.

Meanwhile

• Michael is head in the clouds in love. “If you’re afraid to stay” (like Eurydice is a “runaway from everywhere she’s ever been”) “you probably should.”

• Star: If I know anything at all… Eurydice: All I’ve ever known

• Star: “I bet you never had to fight to survive.” Eurydice: “a hungry young girl” who “had seen how the world was.”
