In horror and regret, I have not yet found my caravan. I feel in my heart that I shall not.
Nor can I learn where I am to go to meet the other champions. The savages in these lands are stubborn, aberrant and lack proper attention spans.
They have learned not the values of hospitality. I suspect they have not even heard of the land of fate, as I was forced to recite my origins numerous times. They assume, absurdly, that I have been robbed, as well. They don't understand.
These are a diverse people. I found myself approached by a horned creature who I mistakenly thought to be a djinn, a beast with the face and torso of a beautiful maid, but the body of a horse, below-- and a youth who embraced me upon meeting, and was accompanied by a small dog.
The youth was kind, if a little distant in thought. Her common was poor and she mispronounced just about every name given to her, but she seemed genuinely kind of heart and I feel she has magical connections I have not yet deciphered.
The horned one was humorous. She even managed to distract me from my great distress with her coy jests, but I fear she could be a faithless creature, which unsettles me. However, I understand that I am in savage lands and I must be open-minded.
The hooved beast was quick to anger and quite unkind. She seemed much like the hill-tribe barbarians, uncivilized and extremely resistant to Zakharan culture in entirety, as the mere mention of the Laws of the Loregiver or my priestesshood would send her into brutish hysteria, raising her voice to me and unable to compose herself.
Tonight, I will pray to Hakiyah to bring her repose. I hope it reaches her.
Alongside them was a scaled beast, far less humanoid than even the yuan-ti. This one, however, gives me little to reflect on. Despite his mythical appearance, he is a simple creature with a simple name and little to say, though he seems eager for adventure.
Who knows what these encounters might bring, but it appears I must work alongside them as I search this town for answers. This small village's plight concerns me little, as there is greater purpose awaiting me, but for now, I have no choice but to accept this distraction if I am to find my way.
My Shuboor, the way I missed you while I sat, locked away in my chambers-- is tenfold, now. Mere hours among the savage folk and I ache to speak with another enlightened soul.
I pray that Najm guides me and that Hajama keeps me brave.
Though, had I not pure faith that the great gods would protect their daughter, I'd fear for my life. But they protected me when the caravan was destroyed and will continue to protect me going forth.
