this channel randomly started showing up in my youtube sub box recently but i've never seen it before???

do younger people today regard 8 and 16 bit games the same way I used to regard Atari games? is super Mario bros or Sonic 2 basically unplayable to a 13 year old today? I could see it go either way. on the one hand, these games are about as old as the Atari was when I was young. on the other hand, the difference in game generation gradually shrunk over time, to the point where a game from 2026 is near indistinguishable from a game from 2016. the difference between space invaders and mega man is massive, but the difference between mega man and fortnite is much much smaller. FFVI isn’t THAT different from deltarune right down to the graphics. I can much more easily imagine a curious kid raised on undertale and fnaf and fortnite and mario odyssey booting up an old chrono trigger, mega man x or super mario world and having a good time than I can imagine somebody my age getting really into the shit my dad played on his Atari in the early 80s.

is there anything I can do about this?
