I've Been in the Max & Moritz Fandom for Five Weeks and I'm Already Seeing Fans Headcanoning that Maus & Molli (from Wilhelm Herbert's Female Parody) are Related to Max & Moritz.
Headcanoning They're Related as in Headcanoning that The Two Brothers & Two Sisters are Cousins which would also mean that Their Guardians (Uncle Fritz & Aunt Dorothee) are Relatives to One Single Family.
As Someone Who Agrees with the Fanon Idea Itself Alone about What I Really Thought in the First Place when I Saw Maus & Molli after being introduced to Max & Moritz, I'm Gonna Have to be a Little Bit Honest (If I Don't Sound Too Controversial to Anyone Who Prefers that Idea) but I Feel like the Fandom would soon be Open for Anyone Who Doesn't Headcanon that the Brothers & the Sisters are Related to Each Other (Rather if it'd be Cousins or Siblings since They're Both from Different Creators) would want to Ship Them.
See, Maus & Molli is More of a Genderswap Adaptation (If You Like to Call it That) on the Max & Moritz Stories that isn't a Confirmed Continuity to Busch's Original Work Considering that Wilhelm Herbert Wanted to do His Own Twisted Spin on the Childish Pranks but with Girls (Which seems Pretty Understandable Considering that Girls can be Naughty and Playful just as Boys are) so It's Established that in Canon in Both Works Neither are the Girls related to the Boys so I Can't Say it's Canonically Incest to Ship Them (at least, to a Certain Someone Who Would be a Proper Prankster Boy/Girl Shipper).
I Most Likely Think There would be Some Diverse on Anyone Who Has Their on Two Different Views on Which Side They're Mostly on to Debate the Trickster Kids' Relationships for How We Can Imagine Whatever We Want Them to Be.
It's like How in the Disney Fandom, There are People Who Would Often Have Their Own Opinions within the "Same Universe" or "Blood-Relation" Theory. Like for Instance; I'm One of the Few Who HC that Rapunzel is Anna & Elsa's Cousin, but I Don't Mind Some Fans Disliking that Idea and Just Shipping Rapunzel with Either One of the Sisters (Since Rapunzel isn't Canonically Related to Them) but it would still feel Weird to Me as Someone Who HCs They're Related. Or How About in the SpongeBob Fandom Where Anyone Debates if The "Two" King Neptunes are the Same Person or Not if The Royal Sea Heirs are Siblings to Each Other or Not.
So, to a Fan Who HCs They're Related (Myself Included), They (I) Would Find it Uncomfortable for The Boys and Girls to be Shipped with Each Other.
But to a Fan Who Doesn't HC They're Related, It's Comfortable for Them to Ship Them Freely and HC They're Completely From Different Families.
I Wouldn't Necessarily be Very Much Surprise for Anyone Who Ships Max/Maus & Moritz/Molli is on the Verge to Pop Up in This Fandom (Ya Know, Given the Circumstances of What Diverse Fans Usually are Debatable on Ideas). I Know for Some Fans Who are Strongly More into the "Theory" that They're ALL Related Would Go Against Shipping Them that Isn't Exactly in Their Same Headcanon Because of How They Look Very Much Alike, but it's Important to Know that Some Cartoon Couples between Boys and Girls tend to look Similar in Terms of Style in Tone Between Masculinity & Feminism (ex; Chipmunks & Chipettes). Unless if Someone were to HC That They're Not from the Same Family but Would Prefer to See Them as Just Friends and Nothing More, That's Also Totally Fine.
Meanwhile, if a Single Fan Were to HC They're from The Same Family but at the Same Time Would Ship Them in One Combined, It Would Completely be Weird as F*ck.
But of Course OC/Canon Shippings are Also Open-Freely Depending on Which Idea They Chose (if They'd Switch on Their Own or Stayed with One Side). Like for Instance, as Someone Whose More on the "Related/Cousins" Side, I Ship the Boys with My Girl OCs.
It's Just That I Feel Like We Should Keep Fanon Ideas in Fandom and Not Shove it to be "Canon" Down to Others' Throats since in the End of the Day, Our Headcanons aren't Universal as Everyone Has Their Own Different Perspectives.
