A lot of people are having a problem with Charlie and Maddi being 22 and 16 and saying they shouldn’t kiss on screen because it’s wrong or whatever and I just don’t get it. The characters are the same age, they’re playing characters, and if they (mainly Maddi) are okay with sharing an onscreen kiss, I don’t see what the big deal is.
And look, I’m not saying they have to kiss, that their age doesn’t matter and they just have to do it for the story or whatever. I don’t care what they do. If they decide to never make Luke and Julie share a kiss, or if they wanna drag it out for 3 or 4 seasons, I’m here for it.
I’m just saying that if they do decide to write a kiss scene and Maddi and Charlie are comfortable with doing that, I don’t think it’s the fandom’s place to be enraged at how wrong they think it is. It’s Maddi’s choice if she’s comfortable with it, I think she’s old enough (she definitely will be by the time they film a new season) to decide that for herself. And if she decides that she is, I think people need to accept that and let it be.
