“okay, seriously. stop now. you’re going to make me sob all over again,” she whined, giving dita a smile. “i love you a lot. thank you.”

“i love you a lot too. if i had to be part of a calculated global k-pop takeover, i’m glad it was with you.”

“yeah. i’m petrified,” sumi admitted after a moment of silence, brushing her hair back out of her face. “i just hope new age gives me a platform to explain myself. and even if they do, i have no guarantee anyone will even listen.”

“maybe they won’t listen. but we believe you and support you. and many thai fans will listen too,” dita assured her. “and if they don’t, we have tons of byulbit fans all over the world you believe you and want to support you.”

“unlikely, but i’ll accept the scolding if that day ever comes,” tiwi responded

“it might. we have no assurances that i won’t just have a nervous breakdown from the pressure,” dita answered seriously.

“well, you’re nice, but i know i am. i know my good traits too, though, so having some bad ones isn’t detrimental as long as i monitor them,” achara retorted. “also, you’re a poor liar too…. maybe acting isn’t in your future,” she teased

“i’ll stick to being an idol. i’m just barely getting used to that,” she laughed, averting her eyes. “if i’m going to be forced to be a leader, can you all make it easy on me at least? no liyang shenanigans.”

she bit her lip, trying not to tear up. she hadn’t known it was unanimous. that meant a lot to her. “i…..i’m honored. i’ll do my best to do you all proud.”

“you already have made us proud, jinhee. we’re lucky to be able to learn from someone like you,” dita insisted.

“you can. we’ll be here to support you. but this was meant for you,” tiwi assured her.

“well, when we transfer leadership by the third comeback, you’ll only have yourself to blame.”

“i’m reserved and cliquey. i’m moody. i’m self centered. just because i’m louder doesn’t mean i’m better for the job,” she answered with a tiny smile

“i don’t think you’re any of those things,” dita answered, but her voice didn’t sound convinced, and when she realized that, she turned bright red.

“you’re responsible. you’re kind.  you’re friendly with all of us. you were on idol project, so you’ve been thrown into the fire and you survived. plus there’s no chance of  you saying any out of pocket shit on tv– i think you’re a great choice.”

she bit her lip-- when it was presented to her like that, she supposed it made sense. “i....i guess, but i still feel like you’re more suitably. more leaderly,” she insisted softly

It had definitely been hard for Joohye to watch everyone debut, especially when she had worked so hard… For nearly half of her life; but now that her debut was here she didn’t know what to do, let alone what else to say…. All she could do was cry her little eyes out and through her arms around the other, “Thank you.” She mumbles, clutching the flowers tightly to her chest before offering her signature smile, “I’ll do my best.”

dita frowned sympathetically, squeezing joohye and patting her back. “you’re going to do great. and look at the brightest side-- your unit is the most drama free,” she giggled. polaris lost somi, antares had liyang, vega had izumi.....joohye was going to be the first byulbit leader to actually get peace of mind.

“i’m not going to mince words– it was really hard,” jinhee admitted with an anxious laugh. “i’m so excited and honored to finally get to be part of this all now, though. and…..the fact that you all voted me leader….it means the world to me.”

“you deserve leader. the vote was almost unanimous,” dita pointed out. “you’re one of the hardest working members in this group, and you’ve absolutely been doing this the longest. you know the korean industry better than anyone. and you care so much. it had to be you.”

“they didn’t,” tiwi insisted with a gentle smile. “you’re the most suited to the role, i think. the most even-keeled of us besides thet, and she’s even more timid than you. you’ll do great.”

“you deserve the role. or achara,” dita insisted. “i appreciate your faith, but i really don’t think i can do this.”

“that’s probably what’ll happen. and the fifth member will just happen to be a super famous huge thai ex-girl group member,” tiwi snorted

“oh, i hope so! we have to give antares a run for their money!” she giggled. “i mean... even though we’re both in antares...... you know what i mean.”
