Since I can't go in to work due to lockdown, we set up a home lab for mineral separation processing with a gold pan, a filtration system, a drying case, and a microscope.

I hand-panned more sample today, and either this sample is full of zircons or I'm finally getting the hang of manual mineral separation with a gold pan. I'm really glad to see some zircons, since yesterday's sample was rather lacking in them.

Was super productive today, actually e-mailed my psychologist yesterday to say I'm not doing too great and I need to talk a bit and we had a chat, then I went to fetch my meds today, did food shopping, my upload finished so I sent my supervisor/manager the files he requested, got some work done and got some studying done!

Work-wise I finished panning one of my samples, it was a bit frustrating since I'm not sure if I'm not doing it right or need more practice, but not getting much zircons (at least it's going better than previously)

Study-wise I started summarising our lab theory in preparation for the quiz next week, and went through some of my online lectures.

Not focussing as much on studies today and tomorrow, since sample processing takes priority for now.

Online classes started Monday but our platform was having difficulty, so now it's time to catch up! Aiming to review the lectures and practicals we've had this week, and hopefully summarise them as well since our finals are coming up.

Do you make a study schedule to keep yourself on track when working from home?

I've never found schedules work for me, I prefer to set myself a bunch of mini deadlines in the lead up to one big deadline and try to meet them as best I can. If I miss one though, I won't beat myself up over it, I tend to manage my time well enough to give myself wiggle room
