The meal begins with an hors d’oeuvre Of silent screams and unspoken words And certainly for the main course They’d serve something even worse: Piled high on a golden plate Are the things I love and things I hate; Oh, and something delectable on the side: red lies and unyielding pride A bottle of their finest wine Of hidden tears and wasted time And what else could they have for dessert But anger, envy, fear, and hurt Depressing music they play as a compliment to express false sympathy and mock sentiments

That’s quite enough, my demons are fed They’ve retreated to the back of my head Oh the impact this meal on me has Made me feel That this unpleasant meal Is quite possibly my last
