I had her name memorised for so long. Saw her face so often when I closed my eyes - even though I’d only ever seen her in photographs. Then, this morning I woke up and realised I couldn’t remember it anymore. I assumed it was just because I was tired but, all day, the thought has been flitting in and out of my mind. I can’t remember her name. Her face is a blur. I don’t know what I’m trying to say here - nothing profound. Only that sometimes the moving on happens so suddenly it takes even you by surprise. Sometimes your mind ejects the memory so perfectly and elegantly it takes a while before you even realise its gone.

I’ll choose honest over perfect every single time.
