I love how therapists, psych majors, psychologists, English majors, and philosophers have all recommended dark stories as a form of coping with trauma yet people with no education on the topic, puritans, people uncomfortable with trauma, and moral superiorists are the ones saying it's wrong and bad.

One of the (lower-ranked but still important!) reasons I think people should learn a second language if they are monolingual is to viscerally understand the frustration that comes with trying to explain yourself in a language you don't speak well and are learning, and so they know that broken spoken language doesn't mean anything about someone's level of intelligence or interiority.

You still have time to make your life beautiful even if you have lost most of it to mental illness, chronic illness, trauma or being in the wrong environment. You still have time even if you're behind academically or you feel like you haven't achieved anything or enough. You still have time to achieve that goal that you really want, that dream that you really crave and that thing that you really want to experience for the first time. You still have time even though you don't know how much time you have on this Earth (it doesn't actually even matter). You still have time to heal, to grow, to evolve and change. You still have time to find your inner peace.
