For a lot of Sims creators, it's always been about the money. They could be making six figures a year from their retread cc, and they would always find a way to squeeze more out of the members of this community.

I don't entirely blame them, though, because the Sims community is largely spineless and won't take a stand. The last time we had a kerfuffle about paid cc, people vowed to boycott creators who lock their cc behind the doors forever, and act entitled to EA's IP. That boycott never happened because I still see certain creators being quite popular on here with their forever-locked cc. So if you want to allow them to crawl into your pockets and milk you dry, why wouldn't they?

It’s sort of interesting to me that we are multiple episodes and a whole second season into these vlogs and people still don’t get that these men are acting and playing highly fictionalized versions of themselves. We’re getting all this handwringing about them doing the show and a lot of it is coming off like not as thinly veiled as they think homophobia.

“OMG! Are they being forced to do this?”

“Are they comfortable with this?”

“This could be so dangerous for TAN!”
