I am only watching it for Phaya and Tharn 🥲 at this point

You all spending your energy on saving rapists and not punishing them, so of course Narong is killing them.

But I do not like her.

From the time they had dinner with Phaya and Nee’s grandma, Dao has been sticking her nose into things that aren’t her business.

Like, who the fuck are you, to tell the grandma to encourage Phaya to quit his job? Like I get it, cops suck, but you don’t have a right to insert yourself into his life like that.

Or telling Nee that she basically needs a life outside of her grandmother and brother. Again, maybe if she knew you longer than like 10 minutes… and sure she’s into you, but who the fuck are you?

Also, if Nee had blamed Tharn I would have understood. But to have Dao be the one to say, “you promised to take care of him.” I just don’t get it or her.

And sure, Phaya said they were like brother and sister, but when his actual sister is losing it. I don’t know, it seems like a great time not to be throwing blame around when emotions are already so heightened.

And then there’s this…

At this point, I might have to admit that I’ve kind of checked out of this story.

I pretty much only pay attention when the past lives, powers, and naga gods come into play.

I did not realize going into this how much of it was going to be basically a police procedural (and like Goddess Bless You From Death is also a cop show, but the creepy ghosts really keep me focused and the pacing I think is quite good), with absolutely no pacing and lots of people yelling unnecessarily.

Seriously, the pacing is kind of slow… at least for me.

Both Phaya and the doctor constantly annoy me with the things that they do. I do dislike the doctor more, but that’s more of the BillyBabe bias coming in to play.

This was hard! I don't think there's a single fic where I didn't struggle with writing at some point. I had a lot of fun posting don't stop, because it was the first smut fic I ever wrote and I posted it when The Sign was still airing and there was a lot of community.

But posting isn't writing and when it comes to writing, I think I have to go with before the sun sets. I really just went with the flow with that one, without thinking too hard about what I wanted to say or why I was writing it like that, but I still feel like it's the one that best fits The Sign as an alternate ending (from those I wrote). I feel it stays true to Tharn's character and lets him actually use his strengths to resolve the conflict without Chalothon having a miraculous sudden change of heart. Also, I guess Tharn's struggles kind of captured my feelings of fighting myself out of the closet in my thirties when it all feels like it's too late but then you find that it's never too late for queer joy.
