girls and women in ozoro are being gang raped and assaulted because of a tradition that is known as the raping festival. large groups of men and boys are literally chasing these girls/women down the streets and instead of them being held accountable, the women and girls are being warned not to go outside. i'm not talking groups of 5 - 10 chasing women down, that's a small number in comparison to what's happening here. in the opening scene of the first episode of better call saul, jimmy/saul has to defend three teenage boys in court for some crime - we the audience dont know what yet.and he puts on this long winded speech about everybody makes mistakes and how they have a bright future ahead of them and nobody is defined by their worst actions etc etc. and you think hes doing a very good job. and then the prosecutor rolls out a tv and plays the video the boys took and presents it to the jury, and its revealed that the crime their charged with is breaking into a morgue and defiling a corpse. the jury then has to watch the boys saw the head off a man’s corpse and (i think?) have sex with it. everybody in the courtroom is visibly disgusted and the boys are found guilty. its a fantastic opening scene for a show.
