Anyway, what I've done today is that bottom section of wall in the first picture. The stuff to the right of it in the second picture has been there for a while, though I've done a tiny bit on the stalagmite
I've decided to get rid of that lava that was coming down, I think that's the right call, but also it does make my life easier... I think I may try to bring the vegetation up to the edge of the wall and texture all that lower cliff (though everything's dependent on everything else, and part of me is like "but do I even know which stone I should use to texture that section?")
It'll be good to have that done, it'll be better to have the walls and ceiling done too
Again, for context, this is what the area I'm working on looks like in terms of the wider cave area, and even that hides a lot of the main cave, and that doesn't even touch any of the little caves winding through things
Still, maybe you start to see the vision. Clean up the middle so it's a solid lava lake in the middle, a lush cave around the edges, nice looking walls and ceiling instead of generic standard gen stuff
Then I've got the partly finished tree up above, and everything else left to do, and then I actually have to build ti all
I'll be glad when the base is done, the good news is it's probably like 65% done, and this alone will probably bump it up to 85% complete, or maybe even more... you can see this is physically huge, I'm just thinking that big tree and all the mountain texturing is about 10%, and then the meaningless question is if the remaining miscellaneous is 5%
Doesn't matter, because what percent doesn't change what it takes to do, real point is this is a huge chunk of the base, so when it is finally done, that will at least be a huge chunk of the base done
