Due to the omnipresence of internet-capable devices, modern energy infrastructure is confronted with the novel threat of hacker attacks. A point of attack could be simultaneous switching of countless IOT devices, possibly resulting in a dangerous destabilization of the infrastructure. The Grid attempts to attenuate such incidents: In case of an increasing regional system load, fluorescent lamps are switched off accordingly to reduce the load. Should the load decrease, lamp segments are activated again.
