It's rare disease day, and guess what? I have one! It's called Mastocytosis and it sucks. I don't want pity, but I do want everyone to take others seriously when they don't feel well. For years, I was told I was crazy by family, friends, and doctors, but I never gave up...The only reason I got a diagnosis was by being my own advocate. Unfortunately, many people with serious illnesses are unable to be their own advocates and, without having someone who believes them, might never get the treatment they need.
