Dia Taylor

Independent Filmmaker Dia Taylor started bringing her stories to screen in 2008 at the age of thirteen when she was cast in her first ever role in her aunt Silvana McCausland’s short film ‘Chocolate Fetish’ [as ‘Claudia Taylor’]. Throughout her high school years, Dia worked on a number of short films and paid projects as runner, producer and 1st AD but it was not until 2012 that Dia was finally able to direct her debut film ‘Jane’; a short film dealing with the unrequited love of a bisexual girl to her friend. Dia went on to study a degree of film production at SAE Institute in South Melbourne where she would met the two co-founders of Reel Merit Films. In 2013, Dia was hired as 1st AD and later Producer on Samuel McDermott’s ‘The Green Woman’ which lead her on the way to producing and directing her own feature to be shot in August 2015. Dia Taylor is also the granddaughter of legendary graphic artist Ian McCausland and currently lives in Richmond, Melbourne.
