Ngl charles mischaracterization pmo so badly, hes not as crazy as people make him out to be? Like ong hes just an average teenage boy, and I dont think he would do anything harmful to his teammates or s/o besides rage baiting and being annoying 💔 most of this is pulled fresh out of my ass since we dont know a lot about him but these are my thoughts on him
I'm not the best at explaining so please bare with me if this becomes incomprehensible...

Charles is a contrarian and I think this behavior comes from him getting bored easily. Charles needs a constant state of distraction/euphoria which is why he acts so impulsively off + on field, he cant stand being in the same situation for long.
He pretty much idealizes himself with his self-centered style of play, but off field it would show more as creativity and flow of thought than ego (let me explain plsplsplsplspls)
Charles likes to push limits and put things to the test, but its not him pushing borders that brings him joy but the compromising situations that come out of it. He always feels like doing what he wants to do in these situations and when hes unable to express this desire or ideal it usually ends in some kind of conflict or discomfort.
On field, it translates as something close to impertinance and obliviousness (to players who rely more on analytics than instinct) Charles rebels against logical plays for more intense activity to kind of like? Stimulate? This narcissistic self-image of satisfaction
Off field, it would most likely show more as cheekiness/grandiose charm. He has a talkative and exaggerated persona (persona mention) and can ease into social settings just fine, but can also be a bit explosive when anything offends his self-importance
But do not mistake this for immaturity—more like a distorted self-concept. Charles fluid identity as a contrarian is projected onto people, ideas, or concepts that are idealized as a better kind of reality that follows his desire of unpredictability (if that makes sense at all?)
Besides charles as a character, its also how hes treated by the Fandom that irks me. Charles is only one year younger than rin but charles is treated like a baby while rin is often portrayed as mature? How do I say this.... rin is 16 yet he has a lot of nsfw works but a character only 7 months younger than him is called a baby.... mmmm im confuzzled.... (pls more charles works pls pls pls)
