I just posted about this I know, but I have one background completed

It's very simple but that's the point. The main focus is not on the background.

And I'm just not good at them

You were just closing up for the night... how could you have let time slip away so easily?

In The Late Shift, you play as a nameable protagonist with a variety of pronouns to choose from. It is your last night working at the small general store in the cozy yet mysterious town of Ecrin, and you are the only worker on night shift tonight.

Ecrin is known for its late night disappearances. Most commonly, the one that happened at your very store. A few years prior to you living in Ecrin, it has been reported that several Ecrin General late shift workers were found dead - their manager no where to be seen. Not only that, but an employee who left earlier that day due to not feeling well also went missing.

Because of the strange happenings, all stores were forced to close by 2am exactly. No later.

But you just happened to miss it by one minute.

This game is still heavily a WIP, but here are a few ideas I have for it under the cut.

Due to my schedule being packed with work and school, Bittersweet Candy Hearts is on an indefinite hiatus.

Alongside that I just haven't had the best motivation to continue or complete it.

However, I do plan on trying to complete little games here and there and will post about them on this account.

Also, I will be changing my name.

• A new pronoun method! I was talking to my good friend about how I was sad I couldn’t figure out how to add a way for people to enter neopronouns, and my friend said to make separate categories and add as many as I can to give more options! I will be taking requests for pronouns so feel free to send my yours!

• I’ve started Perri’s sprites! They’re almost done actually, and then I’ll move on to Elkans!

Here's a little preview of the pronouns and name function!

While I haven't made the main routes yet, I have made a very important character! The Candy Salesman is the very person who runs the little candy shop that starts your whole adventure.

Question is, where did he come from? Surely you would have noticed him if he's been here for a while.

Some of my good friends are helping with a few things!

@bittersweet-n-smilin is helping with the title theme

@sonicmeat is helping with some character outfits and other design details

And both @bittersweet-n-smilin and @lxlita-pxps are gonna assist in the future with possible voice acting!

Sadly I could not add a function for custom neopronouns at this time, but it may be added later if I can figure it out! Right now there’s male, female, and nonbinary options!

I'm rather new to this so, hello! You may call me Kite and I am the creator of a new free dating sim, Bittersweet Candy Hearts!

The concept for this game actually came to me whenever I decided to create something on a smaller scale than my original idea (yes, I have another game in progress!)

Now, you must be wondering, what is the premise of this new game? Well it's simple really!

❣ You (the player is nameable AND you can choose your gender) are walking through town on a cold, February night and stumble upon a small candy shop. Looking to just browse the goodies, you head inside to be met with the shopkeeper offering you a sample of a new candy heart recipe he was creating. Deciding it couldn't hurt, you take one of the three, and notice there's no words on the candy heart unlike other brands. What you didn't know is that the heart you chose has led you to meet a mysterious individual. ❣

The candidates are still being drawn out but there are

❧ Elkan - He claims to be an aspiring teacher and has transferred to the college in your town, but something seems off about his sudden appearance.

❧ Perri - A happy-go-lucky individual, they were quick to ask you for help the day they saw you in the park, but now it seems they just appear everywhere you go.

❧ Amira - An absolute sweetheart, she just opened up a flower shop in your town and is desperate for some help. Luckily, you walked by just in time.

The game consists of one bad ending and one good ending; both of which include CG!

This project is a passion project so I do not have a set completion date, but I will keep you guys updated! It's just me working on it but I have some friends willing to help if I need it.
