Hiding from People’s Presence Spell
This binding spell was inspired by the character Canada from Hetalia, who intentional or not tends to not be noticed by those around him.
Ribbon
Pen or Marker
Physical object that represents you
Grab all the supplies you need and take the time if needed to find an object that you connect with really closely or are fond of. Use the pen or marker on the ribbon to write a sigil, your name, anything that makes it about yourself. Next tie the ribbon around the object, carefully placing the marked side on the inside where it is not visible. As you are doing this, you are physically binding that energy makes you noticeable.
Having it wrapped around the object helps to hold the energy within you rather than normal situations where it might not be. Keep the object either on your person or hidden away so that the spell does not undo. Once you are done binding, simply unwrap the ribbon and take a few deep breaths as the energy stretches itself back to normal.
Disclaimer: Don’t forget to undo it if it bothers you heavily! This is only meant for temporary uses, so take care of yourself and your energy.
If anyone uses this, please let me know and credit me!

Fast Witchcraft
Sometimes you need some magic, and you need to perform it in a hurry.
~ Into candle magic, but don’t have time to let an entire one burn down? Light a match. Birthday candles are pretty quick, too.
~ Pick out an appropriate stone to carry with you. Need some luck? Grab a piece of agate or citrine. Protection? Hematite, tiger’s eye, tourmaline, and onyx, baby.
~ Improv a quick chant. I’m quite fond of variations on ‘work, you fucking fuckfuck, work.’
~ Energy work, if you have the extra concentration to spare. This can go very quickly and is so versatile.
~ If you’ve got enough time for a shower, pick out a shower gel/soap/oil/aromatherapy disc to help give you a boost.
~ Salt forever. Powders if you have ‘em all ready to go. (Try cocoa powder for a love boost, cinnamon for a punch of protection, sugar to sweeten someone’s disposition, cayenne for something with bite.)
~ Pick out your makeup for its purpose and color. (Everybody says draw sigils in concealer, but that’s predicated on having one already made and ready to go.) Try weaving glamours into your foundation, clarity and true-seeing in your mascara, authority in your lipstick. Red lends power to your words. Pink offers charm.
~ Slip a charm in your shoe. Write your wishes on bay leaves.
~ Tie charms and chants (as simple as an incantation, as fancy as intricate beadwork) into pieces of colored string and tie them around your ankles.
~ Slap an appropriate tarot card in your book/planner/bag/whatever to give you a burst of energy for whatever you picked it for.
~ A note on sigils: sometimes these are quick to whip out, sometimes they can take ages to refine. If you have one ready to go, or are able to make one really quickly, try plugging in your phone and leaving the sigil on it while it’s charging to lend that charge to your spellwork.
~ When you have time/energy/resources next, do prep work in advance that can be quickly activated. House wards, money spell packets, don’t-notice-me charms, whatever you need.

So, you want to be a witch? #5
Part one talks about spells, wards, sigils, cleansing, divination and more!
Part two talks about grimoires, crystals, wands, altars and more!
Part three talks about this vs. that for a lot of the common terms you hear!
Part four talks about types of witches, deities and more!
It can be easy to feel super overwhelmed when you’re first starting off. This post is for very new witches who have limited knowledge and would like a broad overview! These are my opinions, feel free to disagree but be polite about it.
This post is a little different than the other ones, it’s all about casting spells!
Grounding and cleansing yourself:
It often is harder to focus on a spell if you are stuck in your own thoughts or have the energies from the day on you. I’ll often start with cleansing myself, by burning a sage or cedar herb bundle, and then sit and take some focused breaths and becoming present in my body.
Casting a circle:
Many witches cast circles as a way to protect themselves from outside energies or unwanted spirits while they’re performing magic. You can use the elements, a salt circle, invoking a deity, etc. Click the links to learn more! [X] [X] It is recommend you stay in the circle until you finish the spell and close the circle.
Drawing energy from something:
(So you don’t draw all the energy from yourself, which can be draining). Energy can be drawn from the elements, from crystals, deities, and many other things. This can be done by visualization and energy work or by asking.
Casting the spell:
This is when you use your ingredients and the guidelines of the spell. It is best to be completely focused so try to avoid having distractions (like your phone) and have everything you need ready to go.
Closing any loopholes:
Often, this is not included in the written spell so this is up to you. I usually write a list of loopholes I want to close before starting this process, so it’s handy when I’m finished with the spell! If it’s a spell you want to come to light in a certain way or by a certain time, this is when you clarify that. This post has more info [X]
Completing the spell and dispelling any energies:
Once you have finished with the loopholes, finishing the spell can be as simple as “this spell is now complete”. I recommend dispelling any energies you called on and returning them to where they belong. If you didn’t cast a circle, now is the time to rid of anything you may have attracted by performing your spell.
Closing the circle:
Closing a circle is fairly simple! All you have to do is the reverse of how you cast it. (If it was with smoke for example, you would then undo the circle by burning the bundle in the opposite direction).
Cleansing and grounding:
Cleansing here is optional, depends on the spell, how you’re feeling, and if you want to do it. Grounding is highly recommended. This can come in many forms. I often use water, putting drops on the key points of my face (forehead, eyelids, cheeks, nose, lips and chin) and sit while taking focused breaths.
Other considerations:
Consent: If you are casting a spell on a specific person and they do not know or they have not given you permission, you do not have their consent. Spells cast to bring a general thing (to attract love instead of to make a specific person fall in love with you), with permission, or on yourself don’t need consent/already have it!
Ingredients: Ingredients are often an important part of the spell and are included for a reason. They either represent a part of the spell, what the spell is trying to accomplish or are something you can draw energy from.
Alternative ingredients: If you can’t get your hands on a certain ingredient, you can almost always use a substitute ingredient. Just use correspondences and trust your gut while searching for the perfect substitute. General rule: Clear quartz = any crystal, Rosemary = any herb, Rose = any flower.
Discarding used ingredients: (Click me)
Belief: If you don’t believe the spell is going to work - it probably won’t. To combat this, take the time to find a spell you really believe will work and write a list of ways you might expect it to present in your life.
Intention: Similar to belief. I’ve performed magic only using a pen, paper, and my powerful intentions. The more powerfully you want something and bring it into your life, the more likely it is to appear. Intent is the end goal, why you’re casting the spell.
Deities: I do not use deities in my spellwork (or witchcraft at all). There is a huge amount of respect and connection-building that is required before asking a deity to help with your spell. I tend to avoid spells where a listed ingredient is a deity. (If you do have a connection with a deity, by all means ask them to help you out if that feels right to you!)
Energy: It is common to feel drained after casting a spell. Grounding yourself, casting a circle and drawing energy from other things all help with this, but allow yourself some time to recover. [X]

I’d like to note that a part of my post turned out very similar to @lunaesteria‘s post, which you can find here. It was not intentional but I feel it’s important to acknowledge! Some things are also phrased differently there so I’d recommend reading both.
Finding time for Witchcraft
Sometimes it’s hard to make room for magic in daily life. We understand, so we made this hypothetical schedule to give you an idea of how to incorporate a little magic every hour of your day.
6:00 am Charge your morning tea or coffee while checking the moon phase
7:00 am Pick out a talisman to wear for protection/luck/etc. when dressing
8:00 am Use a sigil or glamour perfume to enhance confidence for the day
9:00 am Use a protective charm for traveling on your way to work or class
10:00 am Use an attraction charm or friendly glamour to improve interactions
11:00 am Drink plenty of fruit or crystal infused water for magical hydration
12:00 pm Add charged spices to your lunch for midday energy re-boost
1:00 pm Spend a moment with enchanted smelling salts for calmness
2:00 pm Cast a simple spell using emojis on your smartphone
3:00 pm Give a cup of coffee with enchanted sugar to ‘sweeten’ someone up
4:00 pm Use a concentration sigil to improve your work or studying
5:00 pm Use a money or luck spell for payday, or to beat traffic home
6:00 pm Choose specific ingredients for your intent when making dinner
7:00 pm Cleanse your home with herbs, or a crystal-infused room spray
8:00 pm Set aside some time to light some candles and meditate
9:00 pm Remove the day’s energy with an herbal soap in the bath or shower
10:00 pm Use a dream pillow or cast a sleep circle for the perfect night’s rest
There’s always time for magic!
i have been waiting for this post my entire witchy existence thank you

“I’m a baby witch! What do I start learning?”
Here’s a quick-and-dirty list of things that I think sets up a good foundation for someone moving forward with magic work and why. They’re also in order of what I think is best approached first. (For a time reference, I recommend the whole thing taking at LEAST a year, but individual steps and overall length will vary in each person.)
Learn basic magical theory. What is happening when you cast a spell? What is grounding? How do correspondences work? Why is X step or tool important? Learn about what it is you’re doing before diving into actual casting. Have a basic grip on how it works.
Some form of divination, even if it’s something as simple as a pendulum. Other people won’t always be there to help you answer questions, validate your interpretation of something, or offer direction. Having some form of divination under your belt helps you avoid dependency on other people. You can more easily answer your own questions, check your own intuition, and take matters into your own hands.
Protection and Cleansing. No matter what path you go down or what type of magic you end up doing, these are two things that every magic worker needs to know how to do, and know how to do it well. They also tend to be fairly straightforward to learn. Cleanse your space, cleanse yourself, cleanse that object, cleanse your grandma. Then protect them. Learn how to set up wards and shields, which brings us to….
Basic energy work. You’ve probably already run into it a lot by this point and it’s fine if you’ve already picked up some things. But now is the time to really focus on it and get comfortable with it. Learn how to confidently sense what’s around you and interact with it, fix gaps in your wards and shields, project your intent into things, you get the idea. Energy work will always be there in a pinch and requires no materials besides your body, and is extremely versatile. Plus, most paths really require at least a base-level understanding of it these days. Can’t hurt.
Start honing your specific path. Here’s where the cookbooks, the old graveyards, the skulls on the shelf, the fairy figurines start really coming into play. If you have an idea of what sort of path you’d like to follow, start really getting into the meat of it! What does it look like? What are the first steps to that type of magic? If for now you’re still eclectic or aren’t sure, then just read what interests you or try more advanced general spells than you have so far.
Go back and do it all again. That’s right. You can also put time into your path or your regular research, but go back and pick up those old books from step one. Read the old articles. Return to the basics and see how your views have become more nuanced, or how you disagree. What details flew over your head the first time? Can you pick up a new form of divination or try something new with your main form? Could those wards and shields be stronger? You get the idea. Once you’ve revisited it, you should have a really solid foundation that will help you no matter what direction you take next!
Other stuff to study on the side: Local folklore, mythology, and types of spirits. You may not want to work with spirits, but sometimes spirits want to work with you! So it’s good to have an idea of what to do if they pop up. What plants grow in your area? What‘s edible? What is used in healing? What plants are NOT edible in your area? What’s poisonous?
If you think there’s another important step that you recommend that I didn’t include, feel free to add it! :)

Me, shuffling my tarot cards: Alright, buddy, what’s today’s card?
Cards: Put me the fuck down and do your homework.
Me, with a pile of homework next to me: …what could this mean?
