[makima looked to be in thought. her cold, golden gaze moved to the side before it zeroed in on denji again.]
That's disappointing. I came all this way thinking you might've needed something. You smelled like it, after all.
Anyway, if you're feeling just alright, perhaps I should go find some other person more eager to talk.
Denji eagerly waved his arms, zooming in front of Makima before she could leave. “No! I-I… umm… need someone to talk to! Yeah!” He came up with an excuse on the spot, not wanting to give up makima’s attention just yet. Not ever if he could help it.
[makima looked fairly unimpressed, a look in her eyes telling of how she had already predicted this reaction. still, a smile formed on her lips, stopping in place where denji had stopped her.]

Denji froze, realizing that he hadn’t exactly thought this plan through. How could he? It was last minute! He stood there for a quick moment before finally answering. “I want to talk about… the sky! It looks extra bright and cool today.”
The... [she raises an eyebrow, as if truly perplexed by his awkwardness,] the sky?
[makima tsks in what seemed to be amusement, leaning forward. her nimble hands straightened denji's tie, tugging it down slightly.]
It's blue, Denji. And it's bright because of the sun. It's a pretty simple thing, much like you. [makima muses, reclaiming the space filled with awkward chatter.]
Denji, you can do better than that, you know. I didn't come here for a meteorology lesson. I came here for you. Now... are we going to keep pretending the sun is more interesting than I am, or...?
Denji sighed, unable to keep up his ruse any longer. “Sorry miss Makima. I wanted to spend some time with you, but I didn’t know what to say or do.” He stated solemnly while holding his head down.
