everyday i wake up and im disappointed

not that anyone asked but ever since re-reading darkstalkers book ive been thinking about the evil yaoi potential for fathom and darkstalker mostly because it amuses me alot how much this veers into crackship territory but also because i think theres something there that could be really funny

bc darkstalker is evil and awful and very full of himself but also likes to think hes charming and charismatic and wants people to fawn over him left and right

meanwhile fathom used to be full of joy and whimsy and loved being alive but now hes sad and alone and depressed and also regarded like a ticking bomb that can explode at any point in time by his entire kingdom and is also not allowed to see the one dragon hes like desperately in love with so hes just craving for someone to see past his evil curse of being an animus and be his friend

boy oh boy i wonder what happens if you put these two together grabbing you by the shoulders do you see the vision are you seeing the vision

something something darkstalker knows that fathom knows how awesome and epic it is to have aminus powers and if he could just get fathom out of his head then they would make SUCH a power couple (pun intended) meanwhile fathom is so happy to finally have a friend who knows what its like to be an animus and who accepts him for who he is and doesnt think hes some evil monster waiting to snap so potentially hed do anything to keep darkstalker's interest and make him like him

ofc fathom still worries a lot for darkstalkers soul and doesnt want him to become evil like his grandfather which annoys darkstalker since he hates being nagged at but fathom is also filling in the "must fawn over me" and "looks up to me like a god" checkboxes so he lets it slide

he also maybe probably absolutely casts a spell on fathom to get him out of his head and stop worrying as much while still retaining the adoration he has for him since we've seen in canon darkstalker clearly has no qualms on casting spells on the people he cares about in his own twisted way

i also wanted to throw comphet in here somewhere since darkstalker is in a relationship with clearsight aka his one true and fated love but i also think itd be funny if he looks at fathom and looks at clearsight and goes ok. similarities: theyre both worried and annoying and convinced that im going to turn evil one day which is something i gotta take care of. differences: fathom doesnt have the gift of foresight which makes him much easier to manipulate into staying by my side and his fear of being abandoned makes him much more malleable than clearsight if i ever wanted to change anything abt him which i dont bc im such a good and kindhearted and caring friend (lies)

also, darkstalker can still read fathoms mind, which he cant do with clearsight and i can see him using that to his advantage

darkstalker sitting here pondering how he can manipulate and use fathoms power as his own and thinking about his next evil awful move and then we smash cut to fathom thinking "well, coral said i couldnt have dragonets anyway, so! [makes out with darkstalker]"

AGAIN this is definitely self indulgent and ooc and absolutely crackship but it makes me laugh at how absurd this is sorry guys

ig if i think about it more comphet doesnt really work here since there are no societal pressures to be in a het relationship in the wofverse since no one cares who you bang BUT we can say darkstalker and clearsight were so used to seeing themselves being together in their visions of the future that when darkstalker starts to want something more with fathom he has to hide it bc how will he explain this to the dragon he claimed was his one and only true love so he casts evil manipulative spells on clearsight (like he did with those earrings he gave her) to keep her from seeing any of the futures where he runs away w fathom (probably not gonna happen honestly) since her futuresight is way stronger than his and hes not sure how much shes seen already (basing this off of the scene in darkness of dragons where moon suddenly gets a vision of a new timeline where darkstalker is turned into peacemaker)

ofc there is also the inuyasha mindset of "maybe i can have both" which is not only a hilarious thought but also completely in character for darkstalker since he is greed personified. horrid, awful dragon im glad hes gone
